Excellent, comfortable, well designed option with friendly staff and close to arrival transport

A spacious, clean, comfortable and well-designed room with views at tree level to interesting architecture - the last hotel I stayed in on Spencer St just had views to highrises. The reception staff were very friendly, well-informed and helpful, I especially appreciated being able to store one of my cases there. I came by train and even with two heavy cases, the Hotel was in easy walking distance. Good wifi, great to have a desk, interesting artwork and good to have the option of a restaurant onsite.

I really enjoyed staying here, the only thing was the rather minimal sound proofing, so I did get some bathroom noises in the night and the people staying above me, I was in Room 424, came in very late and clomped around until dawn - it was pre a cup final weekend.

Good location and value for money especially for a family

The location and good value for money for a family wanting to go for a holiday or weekend getaway in Melbourne

Didn't have microwave in one of the rooms , couldn't fill the kettle in the small sink. The restaurant couldn't do room service and payments not linked to the hotel .other than that its still good , location is good and walking distance to everything. We use menu log most of the time

Fantastic stay, easy, convenient and comfortable.

The room had everything we needed, the location was perfect with easy access to trams. Check in was quick and easy. Kids loved breaky!

Not as good as last time.

Location

It’s was my second time staying here. First time was great. This time I got a room backing onto a road. I could hear traffic at night and had to turn on the heater all night to drown out the noise. This time I could only access my room by going up and down stairs, last time it was the elevator. I wish I had got the room I had last time.

Ask to be in hotel not courtyard

We were meant to get a room in the courtyard but got a king suite in the hotel rooms Room 435 was awesome

Enjoyed my five nights

Nice food and value fir money. I was unlucky in my stay that it was too busy, and sometimes had to wait for food replenishment.

It is a modest hotel commensurate with the price.

Overall it was a great location, was basic and clean, restaurant available. I’d def recommend it to others and would def

Closeness to the convention centre and public transport . Room was quite big and spacious . Had pretty much everything I needed except off peak air con .

Small point but I couldn’t get the aircon to warm up. It said 23 but not in a bright light… I think it was off in early morning and late at night . I didn’t complain but had to get extra blankets to sleep. I’m sure if I’d mentioned it they would have fixed it but they were busy and so was I.

It’s a great low cost option if you’re looking for a quick place to stay, staff are very helpful and friendly.

Super convenient location, and great price.

Some of the rooms are only accessible via some stairs. The beds are a bit firm for my liking.

We stay here often and find the staff very pleasant and very helpful.

Location is excellent. The room very comfortable.

One lift temperamental. Had to take the stairs.

There was only slightly tepid water and the toilet had a constant drip. This is the 3rd time we have stayed there and the only time we experienced the above.

The heater didn’t work. The people next door were loud till 4am then they left the tv on loud all night and it was still on in the morning. I didn’t get any sleep

Cheap Hotel in Melbourne

Location is very handy and we arrived before 2o'clock and could access the room. Restaurant was good with high quality dinner and good wine. Room is clean and tidy and quite comfortable.

The room was quite noisy. The aircon was an old refrigerated system that was extremely noisy. It worked ok but was needed during the night to keep the room warm enough given limited blankets available. Made sleeping difficult

Passable

I was first given a room which was smelling of ventogen and balms. I asked my room to be changed which was done (thanks for that). However, the next room had unclean bathroom and shower either had very cold or very hot water. The sink was too small even to wash the face or brush my teeth. Because I was staying just for two nights and mostly was away from hotel, I thought it was okay.
