Tolle Lage. Superschöne, liebevoll hergerichtete alte Farm. Top Restaurant, sehr gutes Essen. Sehr charmante und gastfreundliche Besitzerin. Wären gerne länger dort geblieben.

Friendly staff and enjoyed the access to a kitchen
It would have been a nice touch to
have some shower soap!

logement original , dans une tiny-house , bien équipée , au sein d'une grande propriété dépendant de la ferme , à côté de la route 1 , mais très calme , belle vue , accueil très sympa , bon breakfast
chambre un peu petite

You are directly in the nature, very nice location. The breakfast buffet is small but delicious. Nice helpful staff.
The bathroom is very small and there was hardly any room on the tiolet, at least in the room we stayed in.
Slightly unpleasant smell in the room.

Hi tornariem sens dubte.

Location, basically it was the only accommodation in that area for when we needed it. It is remote and quite. Also this review is only about the hostel part, the dedicated huts may be better
Mostly the age of the place and the fact that it wasn't built to be a hostel.
It is old big house repurposed for the hotel, because of that there are issues of not having sockets in the room, pretty steep and narrow stairs, constant need to pass by other tenants room, not much space in general, etc. Not very comfortable stay, and also not cheap, if you can drive an hour more you can find much better guesthouses cheaper near the Egilsstaðir

The common kitchen was well equiped and big and clean and the staff was very nice and forthcoming! We even got a free room upgrade and the staff was very quick to respond to messages. Would recommend!

Amazing views of the sea, wonderful old-style rooms (truly Icelandish), fully equipped kitchen, absolute cleanliness, delicious food in the restaurant, very friendly staff.
There were no negatives

Not many choices at that location.
We were disappointed that there were no very basic supplies such as shampoo, body soap or something equivalent. Only a tiny used hand liquid soap. The heater was so weak and takes hours to make the cabin warm. We arrived around 9 pm. It was so cold.

Nothing - I absolutely love it

Lovely historic building with long history of operation as a hostel in a prime SE Iceland location. Very welcoming and friendly hosting family, and a fabulous kitchen with fresh fish on the menu. Highly recommended.

This is a cosy country home. The interior is truly remarkable with the colorful interior, wooden floor and original furniture. And everywhere are books and magazines for guests to take a moment to flick through and read. We also enjoyed the restaurant and the friendly staff. They know exactly when to be your friend chatting about the best of Iceland when to take orders or help with bags, and when to leave guests alone. This makes the stay very relaxing.

Excellent location with a beautiful view. Very good restaurant. The hostel is an old but well preserved house with a great atmosphere.

Perfectly clean and warm, quiet and peaceful surroundings. Delicious dinner at the Berunes restaurant. Easy check-in and check-out.

We were a little shocked when we walked into our place with a small and outdated kitchen but learned of a much nicer kitchen we were able to use in a different facility a short walk away! we ended up cooking both dinner and breakfast there and they had just about everything you could need! there were sheep not to far away and great scenery.
nothing at all

Gorgeous scenery at the end of the fjord, very peaceful and quiet. Great comfortable space for sleeping and cooking. Family run staff absolutely great too, very responsive when a problem came up.
Stove gas wasn’t working upon arrival, but staff took care of it immediately!

The location is really nice. also the property itself is charming
the room was bit small
4.5
The staff and people are very welcoming and we had everything that we needed. There were 2 kitchens, and one was bigger and in a separate building but it had everything we needed so that we were able to cook. We slept in the attic which sounded strange at first but it was very clean and well designed. It is a bit tricky to climb the ladder to the attic and unfortunately one of us was injoured but we found a place in a shared room for the injoured person to sleep.
It is a wooden house and because we arrived late and ate late, I think that it was easy to disturb other travelers but I hope we didn't disturbed too much. There were very few people up after 21 when we arrived but if you go in the kitchen that is in a separate building you will not disturb anyone.

Great family hotel. Very cozy, welcoming staff, perfectly equipped kitchen, kitchenette, plenty of half and full bathrooms, warm blankets and good size rooms. Peace and tranquility...

Nice room. Comfy bed. Nice clean bathroom.
Cooking smells from other travellers late at nite in the nearby kitchen stayied in the apartment all night. Same thing in the morning..People spending too long in the shared bathroom, doing things that can be done in the bedroom. Staff directions to cabin and room very poor.

no shower gel (I think that’s normal for hostels in Iceland)
