The owner was very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and simple but very pleasant and welcoming. It is gated and very safe. The bed was comfortable and ac was great. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit, yogurt and eggs. I would stay here again!

We enjoyed our 2-night stay with our two children a lot. Rooms are very comfortable and the whole place is absolutey beautiful surrounded by the jungle. Our highlight was definitely the hospitality of Amaya. She was even preparing a small breakfast because we needed to leave erlier this day to go to a Theme park nearby. Amaya is really taking care about her guests which we finally also saw when we asked to check the air Conditioning. On the next day the AC was already professionally checked by a technician. We can highly recommend this place which was actually a little oasis within the jungle for us
!
Nothing at all!

An oasis in the tamed jungle, secluded and safe, but authentically rustic, with a beautiful pool surrounded by trees and plants in bloom.
Amaya, the French owner, is delighful. She accomodated us for dinner on a short notice the day we arrived, gave us great advice on where to go and snorkle and eat. Our “hut” had palapa roof, was very spacious, and an enclosed porch with a hamock, the bed was king size and comfortable, there was a kitchenette and a fridge, ceiling fans and A/C which we didn’t need to use. All windows have mosquito nets, so we slept undistrubed by the buzzing ! It was quiet and pleasant, the only regret is we didn’t stay longer !
We rented a car, and the access road was full of big holes, so drive carefully ! But parking was safe and inside the gates. The place had a good vibe, and we had lovely conversations and exchange of information with other guests.
The price was reasonable and I highly recommend staying at Maya Eco village, looking forward to returning !

Maya Eco Village is located just a short distance from the highway, but it feels like a different world: an oasis of quiet and peace. Amaya, our host, from the moment we passed through the gates made us feel welcome and comfortable, which she describes as the real reason she does what she does: making her guests feel at home and able to enjoy the tranquility that Maya Eco Village offers. An inviting pool is surrounded by six clean and comfortable bungalows, ours at the end of the pool surrounded by flowering bougainvilleas. Amaya and her staff were always there to assist and Amaya took special care to ensure that our stay in the Akumal area was as complete and enjoyable as possible, from assisting our early departure one morning for the Coba ruins to providing us with cenote recommendations the next. Breakfasts were delicious, but perhaps one of the highpoints were the splendid dinners Amaya offered every evening for a modest price, a home cooked blend of Mexican, Mayan and French elements. These were events not to be missed! We truly hope to be able to get back here again to spend more time with Amaya and share in her friendship and caring.
Nothing. The road in is a little rough, but well worth the effort!

The room was big and clean. The pool and surrounding grounds was gorgeous and so quiet , nestled deep in nature. There were humming birds, huge lizards, so many different kinds of butterflies and birds. The owner was kind and flexible with our check in time. She was friendly and welcoming. We appreciated there was laundry facilities.
We only stayed one night as we had a retreat to attend next door, which is why the location was good for us, otherwise it was quite far into the jungle away from the ocean. We were provided with two of the smallest bottles of water in the room and were told that further drinking water came at an extra cost and the tap water there was not potable. Breakfast was included but was basic- the smallest bowl of yoghurt with granola, one slice of dry toast, scrambled eggs and a hot drink. No juice, butter or any frills. We had a kitchenette but there was no trash bin and the fridge was not plugged in, so even if we had wanted to keep out of own food, it would not have been possible. No soap or shampoo in the shower and we had to pay 500 pesos to check out only 3 hours later. We were quoted 250 pesos for laundry and told it would be taken to us next door once dry. When paying however, an extra 100 pesos was added for this without warning which I had to query and agreed we’d collect instead. Overall, for only one night it felt like there was just extra charges for everything which altered our perception of a lovely place.

Quite, simple, and peaceful.
Need hammock chair in porch.

B&B style accommodation located in the jungle, with a lush garden. Cabanas were nice and comfortable and clean. Amaya is very nice and welcoming. Set us up with a guide for turtle snorkeling, which was an amazing trip.
Set against our entire 3-week Mexico trip it is a bit overpriced (both the accommodation and the drinks at the bar) but for Akumal standards probably ok.

The host Amaya made us feel so welcome. A wonderful quite location away from any hassle and bussle. This is a true gem of a find and Amanya goes out of her way to help in any way she can. Beautiful pool and surrounded by nature and animals. The bungalows have everything you need and are clean and tidy. We loved our stay at Maya Eco Village x
There was nothing to dislike.

Everything. The owner is a lovely person that will try to accommodate you for the best stay. Dinner at the village is really good! We also loved spending time at the pool after 10 pm to watch the stars. the village is very quiet and that’s our favorite part because we arrived from loudy Cancun and we really were looking for a peaceful place and found it! We had a car so there was no problem getting to the property. The room was very clean.
Barely any wifi.

This property is beautiful! The location is great. It is a short drive off of the main road near Akumal. The grounds are beautiful and you feel like you are sleeping in the middle of a jungle (you are!). The pool is very nice and right in the middle of the property surrounded by the seven individual units. The free breakfast included with the stay is delicious. The owner will also cook you amazing dinners upon request. Once you are here you will not want to leave. Everything in the room worked well for us. We did not even need to use the air conditioning because of the ample amount of windows in the unit and the two ceiling fans. Being three women traveling alone, safety was our number one concern. We felt very safe and taken care of here. The owner could not be more accommodating! From the very beginning, we communicated through WhatsApp and she answered any question that I had. Meeting her in person was even more of a pleasure. she recommended places to go in the area. She is a wonderful host! I cannot recommend this place enough!
There is nothing I didn’t like about this location.

We loved how surrounded by nature and relaxing the property felt the entire time we were there. Amaya and the entire staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.

The location was amazing being in the jungle in a quiet spot. Nice change of pace from Playa del Carmen or Tulum. We enjoyed the pool and meals thoroughly. Amaya (the owner) genuinely cares about her guests and it shows!
Akumal the closest town is great to get a bite to eat (at reasonable prices) and the ice cream shop at the end of the road on the right is great.
If you like to live a bit more adventurously like our family, you can get there via the Collectivo van system - you don't need a car (unless of course, you have a bunch of luggage, then you definitely need a car). If coming from Tulum, ask the van driver to leave you at the first Sirenis stop. The road is not well traveled so most drivers we talked to were a bit confused on where the actual location is. Once off the van, you cross the highway (oh yes, you will feel like a true local) and then walk on the dirt road to Maya Eco Village (15-20 minutes). I am assuming you will have a similar experience as us, and that is someone stopping and offering to drive you after walking about 10 steps.
Enjoy this part of Mexico! You won't regret staying at this location.

Amaya is a great host. Works hard and gave us good tips on the area. Bungalow had a big comfy bed. Beautiful garden.
Dinner was overpriced

The Bungalow - Eco Cabin was very nicely designed and built. Very large and comfy bed with nice bedding. Big nice kitchen, very nice bathroom.
Modern concrete - great air flow with a screened in porch and swing.
You really felt like you got to enjoy the jungle without worrying about bugs or rain.

Very friendly owner, lots of personal attention, lovely atmosphere. She speaks excellent English. Amaya and her man own this place since a year or so. Wonderful tropical garden with birds and nice pool with sunbeds. Spacious bungalow with comfortable king-size bed, table+chairs, kitchen, fridge and bathroom. Warm water from the shower. Bugs free veranda. Good air-conditioning, which is not every day needed. As soon as you exit the highway you feel like entering the jungle, 5 min drive further, strong gate. Small yet delicious breakfast. Shared dinner with Christmas.
Wifi less good in room than in restaurant. Late afternoon bugs at pool, but nothing the owner can do about it.

wonderful staff and a beautiful location. super homey. nice room. great cocktails.
tbh the breakfast was disappointing.

It's a very beautiful, calm and family friendly place . The owners are very helpful and kind. We have traveled with our four year old child and she enjoyed so much the pool and the garden and the company of Amaya (the owner).
Nothing, but the breakfast could have more variety.

Excellent hospitality by our host.
2.0
the garden and pool are great, did not like the rest
although Amaya helped us very well, we felt unwelcome and overheard her husband complaining about us drinking too much filter coffee at breakfast. we have young (jetlagged) children…the breakfast was very poor and left us hungry. you can buy lunch and diner there, but 16 dollar a person feels a bit overcharged for a simple home cooked meal. the room was not cleaned during our 4 night stay. there was no electricity. the generator was on sometimes, but not during the hours they said it would be. the breakfast was not served at 7 liked promised, but sometimes 45 minutes later. there is no shop or restaurant nearby. so i would not recommend this, especially if you have children.

The best host ever! Amaya is an amazing host that makes everything for you to feel confortable and at home.
The place is ideal for a different experience compared with the mass tourism that we see in Cancun/Play del Carmen. Here, you are not in the beach (even you can easily go to the beach as well by car) but in the "jungle", with a fantastic swimiming pool in the middle of the bangaloos (very big ones).
Very good price. Fully recommend!
The bangaloos are not new and some improvements could be done (e.g. WC, kitchnette).

Room was large and the beds were comfy. Parking was secure. Owner was lovely!

it was just what we were looking for, a large bungalow, fantastic large comfortable bed, it has a pool, air conditioning plus the possibility to have the owner cooking for you. It was great. Thank u so much Amaya & Perin the stay will remain memorable 👍🤗

Breakfast was excellent! place is amazing, really nice, you can see lots of stars during the night, you can disconect from everyone and everything during your stay, private rooms, all nature!

The facilities, the nature, the owner of the hotel, she is very nice

This is a very clean and quaint village of seven little cottages around beautiful floral and a pool. There is a main Palapa with a restaurant. A French couple on it who are just lovely. The mattress was very comfortable the setting is quiet on a .5 mile dirt road back into the jungle, but a quick drive to Akumal beaches.
You really must have a car or have some kind of transportation set up, which didn’t matter whatsoever to us as we had rented a car and had no problems.
