Well situated hotel. It’s an old building and shows it but to their credit it was clean and tidy. Hard to comment on pricing as we were in town for a concert and the price reflected this. Shower was excellent.
If there is a Wi-Fi I didn’t find it or the password, lots of stairs

Location.
Thought it a tad expensive

Excellent location, close to train station and centre
Although the bedding and towels were clean, the rest of the building and room was grubby, tatty and very tired. When you check in at the kebab shop, you know you're in for a rough ride.

Beds were clean
The room was big loads of room , beds were clean one of the beds the single was uncomfortable as the spring were nearly through , the carpet was clean some patches dirty one towel had blood on it , the shower door was stuck had to leave it open and the cubicle is very small we are not big people , a lot of stairs if you have bad legs we were in room four , the electric appliances were out of date for their checks , we never used the heated but that looks dangerous .

The room was OK the shower in room 3 was broke but you could still have shower room was clean beds were old hard and dip in middle but for a couple of nights it wasn't to bad no lft though had to carry suitcases up three flights of stairs so if you can't manage stairs this place is not for you location was perfect near town near all amenities and just round the corner from the station
The smell of the food from the restaurant where you have to book in the beds they were to hard for my liking

The rooms were very spacious, check in was simple and it seemed secure by using a fob & key system.
The location is on a main street with lots of shops nearby and was only a 5 minute walk from the station. The wi-fi was adequate and the beds were comfortable, the pillows could be better but we used the spares from the extra single bed in our room.
The room also had a fan which was handy, a kettle, hairdryer and iron / ironing board, none of which were top tier but good enough to get by.
We would book again if we decide to visit Cardiff in future and need somewhere for a short stay of a day or two.
The hotel could be improved with a little makeover, the carpets on the stairs are falling apart and dangerous, my partner tripped down them due to it being loose on one step in particular. The carpets in the room were also a little warn, there was a used rolled up tissue under one of the bed sheets and the sink was a bit scuffed. With a bit of love and proper cleaning it could be a solid 10/10. The window ledge outside has all sorts of junk accumulated on it including clothes. The remote for the tv also didn't work so we just used the buttons on the side of the TV instead.
The booking.com ad and communications from ML Lodge do sort of imply it is a nicer place with it's own 'restaurant', we spoke with 3 other guests who also assumed that was the case and were just as surprised when realising it's like a regular takeaway store. The room we stayed in wasn't the easiest to sleep in, the beds and temperature were comfortable but the street outside is very loud especially from a homeless drummer who liked to sit right outside and play from lunchtime till between 10pm and 2am. The hotel can't be blamed for that of course but maybe some sort of warning or sound dampening would be much appreciated. Overall we paid a very similar price to what the local Marriott hotel was going to charge us as we thought it was a better location, with some small improvements it would definitely feel like a fairer price.

Located right in the centre of all the pubs, 3 minutes walk from the castle and 10 minutes walk from the station.
Very quiet in the single room 1. Comfy bed.
Very tired, dated and worn interior. No hand rail at the very top of the stairs.

Went to speak to the owners in the kebab shop who sent us to a different hotel to sort a refund to which that owner said they have nothing to do with it we then went back to the kebab shop spoke to the hotel ownernover the phone amd after talking to them for an hour amd calling booking.com we got a full refund

Great location within the city centre. Nice clean room. Quiet location as well.
The number of stairs to climb to get up to my room on the 4th floor - no available lifts which made it difficult to carry luggage.
