Dinner is good but have no menu ,only set for u
maybe service. They always have the full rooms status , and they will give you the staff rooms where are out of the mean building and they will tell you that it’s the part of the hotel. You only need to walk 3mins to the main building. actually it’s not good feeling to me although We change the room. we hope that u guys will check in the right rooms inside.

Wow what a unique experience. To be able to stay in such a historical venue was something totally out of the ordinary. It felt like stepping back in time and we liked every minute. From the high tea in the afternoon to a visit of their vegetable garden to the formal attire during dinner every thing was unique and interesting. The landscaping and flower gardens are unbelievable. We stayed in the new section and our room was super comfortable.

Everything about this club is classical high standards delivered with real warmth. Every member of staff was friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The food was really good. The very best European classics served with style. Bar is a great meeting place.
Nothing could be bettered.

Very enjoyable stay at this Colonial hotel steeped in history. Staff were very attentive with excellent service throughout. Right opposite the golf club so great for golf enthusiasts. We had a fab massage at the Grand hotel next door.
Although my husband had slight reservations at first about the formal dinner (Jacket and tie were obligatory but the hotel provided these free of charge) we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food was excellent.

Very colonial feel. Gives an air of being very smart and exclusive. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful and cared for us extremely well. Beautiful gardens.
Generally rather tired and a bit stuffy.

The history of the place makes it special. Nice rooms, friendly stuff, good food.

Courteous old world staff. Excellent Covid precautions. Staying in a piece of real world history. The club was built in 1876 and you could sense history all around you. The gardens were truly magnificent. Gorgeous location.
Unfortunately, given the age of the property, there were parts of the building and walls that needed some TLC....mould on the walls in corners etc. But minor issue given all the positives.

Quirky property with interesting history. Staff are very friendly and passionate. Like stepping back in time!
Basic facilities but very comfortable!

Beautiful large room. Very atmospheric and historic. Grand common rooms such as a reading room, billiards, bar, restaurants. To use the formal restaurant you had to wear smart dress ie jacket and tie for a man. Hot water bottles placed in beds at night. Roaring fire in lounge. Excellent service. Very good breakfast and dinner in restaurant.
A small refrigerator needed in the room. It is very expensive and you are paying quite a lot for an experience of the past.

History and tradition are alive and well in this lovely old colonial retreat. The formal dining was fun and the staff were mot attentive and helpful.
I liked my double bed and hot water bottle but the space between the end of the bed and the fireplace was quite small. There were bigger rooms I noted but were probably allocated to couples. Such is life for the single traveller.

Proper old school and quirky: rather a luxury boarding school. Great location and very comfortable rooms. Recommend making friends with Croos who is an excellent barman who now know how to make Springboks.
