We enjoyed our 10 days at Loon Cottage on Toddy Pond. The place is gorgeous. All amenities. We wanted for nothing. Even citronella candles and lighters were available. A flashlight for when the power went out for an hour or so (the entire area was affected). Extra batteries, super responsive and friendly host (Chip) and a lovely time all around. Peaceful and tranquil, right on the water. You can hear the waves lapping with the windows open. A dream.

Our second year at Toddy Pond and it was wonderful even on the rainy days.. love it! Great swimming, kayaking and close to explore many beautiful towns on the blue hill peninsula. The house is perfect for us!

The house is big and open and very clean. Everywhere you look there is a view of the lake. The kitchen is very well equipped and I loved the AC throughout. For those using the pull out couch, maybe bring an added layer of padding for the mattress. Other than that, it was truly wonderful!

Cottage is still as wonderful and clean as ever - comfortable all around, well-equipped kitchen, and a terrific waterfront. Chip is very helpful should questions arise. Recommended!

Loon cottage on Toddy Pond is just beautiful. We spent much of our time in the lake and kayaking on the lake… easy access.
The bed was comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. We especially loved the side patio. So close to Acadia. We hope to return.

We had a great time at the Loon Cottage ~ right on the water so that we could launch our kayaks or fish from the dock ~ got to see the loons and ducks ~ amazing views of the pond from the top deck ~ all amenities needed to enjoy and relax for the week!

The cabin is located just a short drive down a dirt road off the main road. The cabin is located perfectly in the cove and is exactly as described. My wife, 12 yr old son and myself stayed comfortably. The dock is perfect for fishing although we didn’t have much luck catching. The deck and upper balcony off the bedroom have a perfect view to drink morning coffee. The wifi was spotty but that’s perfectly fine. We were able to disconnect and just relax. Short drives to Blue Hill and Fort Knox. About an hour from Acadia and Bar Harbor. There is also satellite TV for those staying with younger children who may need entertainment. We also rented a kayak to take full advantage of the gorgeous Toddy Pond. Will definitely stay there again

Relaxing cottage sitting at waters edge. Sit back on a comfy chair and look down Toddy Pond. Feels like you are on a boat.
Beautiful sunsets and loons in a peaceful setting. Easy kayak launch.

We are family of three stayed at this lovely lake side cottage for two weeks. Overall we had a good experience during our stay and below are some highlights and observations.
Location of the property is beautiful and the house literally sit by the Toddy Pond. It is off the main road and accessible via an one car width dirt road. Location is secluded, quiet and pitch black at night. We enjoyed listening to all the nature sound during out stay.
The view from the screened in sunroom was really lovely and we spent A LOT of time there to soak in the beautiful lake view with breeze. Living room has a great view and so is the kitchen. It was very relaxing preparing meals or lounging on the sofa.
The house is well furnished and has a nice NE style décor. It's also one of the cleanest rentals we have stayed in. Furniture are in good shape and comfortable. Kitchen is modern and meet your most cooking needs. One thing we noticed is the knob for the main burner is broken..even though its working we shut off the gas line under the counter when not using. Sink is nice and big and has a garbage disposal. Plenty of counter space and the appliances work well. There are plenty of cooking utensil, plates, glass and bowels. One thing to note is half of the bowels are chipped so may need to be replace soon.
The king-size bed upstairs is comfortable and actually has 500 thread sheet (nice). The stackable washer/dryer was larger than we anticipated and worked well during our stay. The house has two wall mounted AC/Heating units which worked very well (& quiet) and kept us comfortable.
There are a few things to note and we were able to deal with. One, the upstairs bedroom does not have a door and open to the lower living room section. We have a kid so made some adjustment at night to minimize the sound and light from the lower level. Two, flies and small insects are to be expected in the wooded area. The host did warn us about them able to get in even with screens. Since blinds are not on every windows in the living room and kitchen area do expect little flies to get in if the lights are on. Three, the cell reception is not that great by the pond and we did have issue with the wifi router during our stay. The host did offer to contact the satellite company but we solved the problem by using hotspots.
Again we enjoyed our stay and it was definitely a plus to get back to this lakeside property after a day of hike in Acadia or visiting Bar Harbor!

Partner and I stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the property. It was an amazing cottage on a pond with being relatively close to a lot of beautiful hiking trails. Look forward to coming back again!

This comfortable cottage was spotlessly clean, and in a quiet location. The water is excellent for swimming and kayaking, and the lake provides many interesting areas to explore, including floating bogs in the northern section. The kitchen is large and well equipped. Chip was extremely helpful and beyond quick in responding to questions. We had a terrific stay!

This lakefront property was super quiet and just lovely. The loons visited and a pair of ducks. The home is quite cozy and the views are fantastic.

What a great cottage. So much to like here. We’ve stayed on Toddy Pond many times, so we knew what to expect there. But this cottage exceeded our expectations. This was our first vacation since the pandemic began, and coincided with my wife’s 70th birthday. She was thrilled, and we took full advantage of everything Toddy and Acadia had to offer. Chip is an exceptional host, safe to say the best we’ve ever had. Very responsive, excellent recommendations for the area, great to talk to. All around a wonderful experience.

We rented this home in order to experience Toddy Pond. We had also intended to work remotely from the home, however, the internet was not fast enough for video meetings. The home was nicely appointed and the water lapping at the beach with lions and ducks paddling by was pleasant to fall asleep to and wake to. My wife took her kayak out on Toddy Pond and enjoyed it. The other item to know is that there is a sled dog team down the road a bit. If you walk out in the morning and hear howling like wolves, don’t worry, it is just the sled dogs talking.

This home was very clean, neat and most of all very secluded and quiet. The loons calling at night were beautiful. Our only issue was with a steady strong internet signal, as my husband did work remote a few days, the internet dropping was a problem.

What a perfect vacation home! Directly on Toddy Pond. So serene and breathtaking. You can go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the loons on the water. The home has everything you need. The kitchen is amazing. Sunsets were off the charts! Came home rested, relaxed and happy after this glorious 2 weeks in paradise.

Loon cottage is a beautiful place. It is perfect for a couple. Every where you look there is a view. The dock is very nice, and the lake is crystal clear. We were hoping to see the colors of fall, I think we were about a week to early. And the temperatures were dropping in the evenings. The location is out away from all the hustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. It takes about a half hour or more to visit these areas. We were able to fish off the dock. But keep in mind fishing laws changed for what you could fish for on the 1st of October. No live bait, it didn’t matter we didn’t catch anything, and even if we had, were catch and release people.Would definitely recommend this cottage. It’s a beautiful setting directly on the lake.

Sightings: eagles, loons, turtles, variety of ducks, kingfishers, woodpeckers - all from the comfort of the deck. Quiet & private.

Where do we start. The house was furnished beautifully. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The bed was comfortable. The seating areas outside were perfect for sunset cocktails and conversation and the chaise lounges in the shaded area were amazing for naps. We're not nappers but many naps took place. In the morning and at night you can hear the loons and the sounds of the water. We didn't really have to leave ever - we did like the reasonable drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We had kayaks delivered so we could explore the pond. It was truly one of our most favorite vacations. Would come back in a heartbeat.

We loved being right on the water. It was so blue! The cabin is really nice. Loved hearing the loons at night. The kitchen is beautiful and very well stocked. We liked being able to have breakfast and one light meal at the cabin. Internet is easily accessible and reliable. The living area is very comfortable. The bed was comfortable. All the rooms are a good size and feel very homey. The cabin is very nicely decorated. Simple and not too nautical. Having a bathroom on both floors is great! Being able to see Toddy Pond from two different sides was amazing!!!
Just a few very minor items - one-ply toilet paper👎, we bought our own, no Kleenex, laundry detergent, or coffee. Those seem to be pretty common staples. The table in the sunroom needs a proper tablecloth that doesn't stick to you. The dresser in the bedroom needs to be emptied so guests may unpack. A couple of the doors don't lock. I believe the cabin is advertised as having window units. There is no air conditioning, except opening windows and turning on ceiling fans.
I don't mean to be nit picky, but these are easily fixable hiccups.
We did love our stay. Loved the outdoor seating. A great and relaxing vacation.
The location makes it easy to go anywhere. I still give you two thumbs up👍👍
