Lovely cottage with a lovely kitchen and facilities really enjoyed learning how to use a log burner for those cosy nights in! Loved seeing the sheep casually walking across the drive with her babies in tow
The heating came on and off and sometimes it got cold but the host was very nice and sorted it very quickly and there was a log burner

Everything was clean and it was comfortable

Very straight forward accessing the property. Very well presented. I was on a work trip to the area but would have been equally happy in there on holiday😊

Larger property than the images on the website led us to believe with a large garden area at the back. Great family cottage. Spotlessly clean.
Ideal location for what we wanted to do. A well-stocked Co-op open from 7am-10pm within a few minutes walk. Pub is only 10 mins walk away.
Christine, the owner, lives next-door and was in touch a couple of times to make sure everything was OK.
Garden furniture has seen better days.
The road in front of the property can get busy, but we were aware of this when booking and it was not an issue for us. Safe for young children due to the driveway gates.

NA
We had trouble using the electric hob but that was sorted out by the owner who showed us how to operate it. The non stick frying pan was not very good and there was no plastic spatulas only metal ones apart from a wooden one that was to thick to use on the pan. However the probelm was probably due to misuse by previous guests.

Liked cottage in general was so comfortable
The shower wasn’t the best didn’t have enough power

It was really spacious and the conservatory was a lovely place to sit. Everything was very smart and clean. The bedroom arrangement was a nice surprise at I was travelling with my teenage son and my mum and we were only expecting two bedrooms. But actually one of the two bedrooms is split into two separate bedrooms so we all had our own room. The location was great and central to so many lovely things to see and do. There is no pub serving food in the village (there is a cafe although we didn't visit it) but there are lots of great pubs with lovely food in all the surrounding villages.
The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The bed was a little hard and the shower wasn't particularly powerful but they are just small details and didn't spoil our stay at all.

Renovated, comfortable, spacious and very clean house. The kitchen and downstairs shower room are very nice and spacious. There is an added bonus of a nice conservatory too. The garden is very large and does catch the last of the evening sun and has views of the surrounding countryside. Rose Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's in an ideal location for exploring the local countryside.
Don't be fooled thinking that the road Rose Cottage is situated on is just a B road. It's incredibly busy and noisy. If like me you like a bedroom window open at night be prepared for a lot of traffic noise including lorries rumbling past. Now I realise that this is not the fault of the owner but the cottage description should include the information that the road noise is very invasive.

Ok we made our own breakfast

Very good location for accessing the the many beautiful and interesting aspects of the Forest of Dean and the surrounds. Sited on the edge of the village it was easy to access nearby shops and food establishments.
Our host was very friendly and welcoming.
We were a couple and so the property ideally matched our needs. However, for others, the configuration of the upstairs provision may not suit 2 couples sharing. The cottage would perhaps have been better designed for 2 bedrooms instead of 3.
