About this villa rental
Casa Pura Paz is an incredible, secluded Villa in the thriving rainforest that stands out from all of other Vacation Rentals in Manuel Antonio with its unique design, location, Ocean Views, and the only one where you can walk to 3 different beaches. Once you stay at Casa Pura Paz, you will not want to leave.
With many five star reviews, every feature of this majestic Villa has been impeccably designed to take advantage of the incredible Ocean Views and the encompassing lush tropical rain forest. 3 decks surround the house which provides great viewing areas but also allows you to come very close to nature with the frequent monkey visits (almost daily), hundreds of species of birds including toucans and scarlet macaws, sloths and many other species of animals. Casa Pura Paz allows you to feel like you are living in an outdoor zoo!
Beaches This Wonderful Estate is walking distance to 3 stunning beaches with two having historic turtle traps that Archaeologists believe that these were arranged by 16th-18th century Quepo indigenous people to function as a turtle trap and still today, you can see lobsters, fish and other sea animals located in these rock designed enclosures. No worries as high tides allow all of the animals to be set free but you get to see how creative our ancestors were many, many years ago. The first beach is rarely used by others and is a short 7-10 minute walk from the Villa with the second 10-15 minutes away where you can witness the turtle traps and if you are looking for water activity, Playa Biesanz is a mild 20 minute walk away where you can rent snorkel gear, kayaks and other water toys. If water activity is not of interest, we have several hiking trails through the jungle that will certainly allow you to burn off a few calories before you come back for a cold beer.
The top floor is perfect to just relax and take in the magical scenery or perfect for yoga, a private massage session. You can also take advantage of the onsite exercise equipment or enjoy a game of ping pong.
Middle Floor This floor includes the main living area, complete with a poker table, open kitchen along with a bar area that opens to the large veranda. Walk up a couple steps to the grand bathroom and two large air conditioned bedrooms. Both bedrooms are complete with king beds that can be converted to two twins (in each room), if required.
Lower Floor This floor includes an air conditioned Master Suite with a king size bed, spacious private bathroom, ocean view and a relaxing balcony overlooking the jungle setting and ocean vista. The swimming pool is also located on this level.

Lovely house for Active Couples or friends. Never used the pool because it wasnt really set up for swimming, and the beach was a dangerous trail.
10.0 / 10.0
The location itself is truly unique. This property is in town, but seems remote. A little noise from the hotel down the street, but you basically just feel surrounded by the jungle. The grounds keeper Jose is amazingly helpful in exploring the property, locating the hidden sloth and identifying the vast variety of birds that come through each day.
The walk to the beach is steep, but well worth it. The area easily allows you to explore Manuel Antonio without a guide.
Camilo was wonderful at arranging all of our transportation and putting together the perfect experiences for the family at the last minute. All of his recommendations were spot on, and quality guides.
I highly recommend taking advantage of the chef services. Diego had a wide variety of preparations he used throughout the week. First time ever my teen daughter has cleared her plate without a struggle! Amazing variety and lots of local flare to the preparations.
The property is dated and could use some internal upkeep/maintenance, but you should not be disappointed. The views can't be beat, and the full staff are attentive and helpful to ensure you are enjoying your best vacation.

This place was absolutely perfect. Luci and Jose were very helpful. The views were amazing. I loved all the great hiking trails from the house. We will definitely be back.
10.0 / 10.0
The house is in a perfect location with everything you need in walking distance. If you are not up for walking up hills I would recommend you rent a car which can be arranged for you. The view is priceless. The pool table and ping pong table were a nice bonus to take advantage of when the afternoon rain shower would come through. The only addition to this area I could recommend would be a fan but there was a breeze at times.
The access to the beach from the house takes a little hike but once down there, the beach is like no other. Very private. Surrounding the house the owner has done a great job keeping the natural aspect of Costa Rica alive. We saw monkeys, sloths, toucans, iguanas, and 3 different types of snakes. The house is beautiful but the staff (Camilo, Jose, and Luci) truly made this property beyond anything we could have even imagined. If we needed ANYTHING, Camilo was only a text away. He arranged everything for us including the transportation to and from San Jose airport. Luci the housekeeper was amazing. Never had to ask her to do anything, it was just done. The grounds keeper Jose is like no other. Our vacation would not have been the same without him. He knows the property like the back of his hand and is so willing to share. It was as if we have known him our whole lives. We will be forever grateful for his gratitude and friendship.
We cannot thank you all enough for the wonderful experience and cannot wait until next time!

I’ve been coming down to Manuel Antonio for 15 years I do a lot of fishing have stayed at over 20 properties in manual Antonio I would probably rate this house a six or seven and give it a nine because you can walk down to the beach which is beautiful but you have to be careful with your kids it could be dangerous if not knowing what you’re doing this house reminds me of a real Costa Rican house with lots of wood I had several gas over captains meetings for fishing They agreed with me on the home You can tell this is somebody’s personal home the main floor is not rentable and the homeowner wants to keep it personal the main bathroom has a shower that’s unbelievable Very grand your whole family could take a shower in it overall we had a great stay And barely noticed the staff which I like My thoughts on the tipping list is this if you rent a house like this, the owner should have to pay for the upkeep on the grounds when vacationing we’re not gonna tip for that that’s a big job but not ours the maid services were excellent I would love to stay here again if given the opportunity they also have a guard at the gate at all times although I’m not sure it was needed. I always felt safe. And the fishing was excellent as always lots of tuna, lots of mahi and even some wahoo and a couple sails

From the moment you enter the property you are whisked away to a tropical oasis. The extensive grounds feature a wide variety of plants, trees and tropical vegetation. Toucans, macaws, parrots and other species of birds are frequently found as well as squirrel and capuchin monkeys. A great location within walking distance of many restaurants and beaches.
The house matches its surroundings with multiple rooms and levels to appreciate the views of the surrounding areas and the coastline.
Friendly staff José and Lucy and Camilo made the entire experience “Pura Vida”

The reviews that describe the property as magical and paradise are accurate. My family loved it! My group didn't even want to leave to do other activities in the Quepos area because we could see it and do it all right here. The onsite staff (Lucy, Juan, security) were also excellent, and the concierge was readily available if needed.

Casa Pura Paz is a beautiful home in a convenient location with gorgeous views. You can see a variety of wildlife on the property and below it, including sloths! Our concierge, Camilo, and the house staff, Lucy and Jose, were all very kind and helpful. We had an enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Lovely house with AC. View was spectacular. Located close to beaches and excursions. Lots of fun amenities for families! Ground keeper even brought us a sloth to see close up.

We would NOT recommend staying in at this residence. The owners are not very friendly, and if you make a request to change anything in your reservation they proved not willing to work with you. Furthermore, when we tried to change the dates they stopped replying to our messages and completely ghosted us. If you want to have a fun and carefree experience in Costa Rica do NOT STAY HERE!

The property was lovely with gorgeous views! Property was very private and surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna. Ideal location...Beaches, restaurants, and shopping all in walking distance. Plenty of in house activities on the very top floor with spectacular views of the cove. Activities such as ping pong, billiards, a card table and a workout area with a bar. Also, a small infinity pool off the first floor veranda to relax in after a long day boogie boarding/surfing and sightseeing. Wildlife all around the house. Howler monkeys are heard every night and Jose spotted a toucan and a sloth that we could see from the second floor veranda. Easy private walk from the house to Biesanz beach which is a highlight in the area for snorkeling. The house staff (Jose and Lucy) were very friendly and helpful. Lucy seamlessly took care of any household needs and Jose was very knowledgeable about the area and very willing to to help with any requests. Camilo was very helpful with information preceding the trip and accommodating our last minute dinner requests. The chefs...Manuel, Diego and Jordan were outstanding and extremely professional. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation beautiful!
A wonderful vacation at Casa Pura Paz!

Casa Pura Paz is located in the perfect spot for exploring the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area. Jose, the groundskeeper is a gem and will offer help with anything you need. Lucy, the housekeeper, keeps an immaculate house and the guard could not be nicer. All three together (and the two families of capuchin/squirrel monkeys) will make your stay unforgetable.

We had an absolutely magical stay, the house is perfectly located and maintained. Jose and Luci are so kind and helpful, we enjoyed them every day. We never met the concierge but he was accessible via text and assisted us with several things during our stay. There are so many animals visitors and they beach is nearby so it was paradise for us.

This was such a wonderful place to stay. We loved everything about it. The only negative was we wished we could stay longer. Everyone was so amazing to work with and they all helped to make our stay truly enjoyable. We would definitely come here again.

Yes this house is beautiful. But Jose and Luci made it an unforgettable time. Jose pointed out animals all over the property and even got us to pet a sloth!! He made suggestions on beaches and local eats. He even accompanied my mother in law to get fuel and groceries. Luci was there each morning to pick up after us and when we got back from adventures our laundry was clean and folded waiting for us. I really need her to come home with me! They both left us all with love in our hearts for them.
Like I said, house is beautiful. Sloths, monkeys, macaws, toucans, iguanas! Oh my! Lots of stairs.
Thanks for sharing your house and Luci & Jose with us.

First, Camilo was incredible in the service and information provided. He made the whole experience such a joy and took care of our requests without hesitation and was available for any questions or help with setting up excursions, dinners and massages. The home was totally secure and safe with a great view to the bay below. The location was convenient to all that we wanted to experience.

A great home with amazing views and almost daily wildlife visits. My group had the best time. Was great to relax at the house and be able to walk to the beach from there. Felt secluded yet right by town and no need for a 4 by 4 to access the area. Daily housekeeping, tour arrangements, and assistance around the house were made possible by the awesome support team of Luci, Jose, and Camillo. Highly recommend and hope to return soon.

Memorable stay, lovely property.
Beautifully maintained, comfortable property surrounded by wildlife. Very friendly, helpful staff. We saw sloths, squirrel monkeys, toucans, macaws from the balconies. Lovely views. Great socialising space in and out of the kitchen, lounge area and on the covered roof area. Lots of extras provided to add special touches. Nice private trail down to a quiet beach. Good communication from Camilo who arranged everything for a special birthday celebration including fantastic food from a private chef. Great having a laundry service provided. The air conditioning worked well. We loved the appearance of the property with varnished wood balconies. Security was good with a locked, manned gate to enter the property.
Only negatives were to get to the ground floor bedroom you had to go outside the main house down a staircase, to access the rest of the house during the night you had to go outside, up the staircase and unlock the front door, it also had a tiny bathroom and the BBQ was situated outside the lower bedroom below the entertaining area.
We would definitely return and recommend staying here.

Amazing house... very private, safe, clean, and great location.
This is the place to stay. The house was fantastic in every way, but the staff brings it to another level. The concierge, Camilo, had everything we wanted to do planned out and provided us with a printed itinerary that helped immensely with logistics. We were also able to change things on they fly, and he helped get us coordinated with a driver for beach and shopping trips and dinners. Luci kept the house immaculate and tended to our laundry. Jose also kept the property spotless, and even took me into town to his barber for a haircut. We would absolutely return. It was just my wife and I for 10 days, and we wouldn't pick anyplace else when we return. 5 stars!

Amazing experience in Manuel Antonio
Casa Pura Pas is the perfect spot for privacy and nature. We felt we were staying at our own national park with the monkeys, sloths, and toucans visible from the private deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Another great feature was the staff on-site who took care of all of our needs. Can’t wait to visit again!

Come for the view, say for the service!
I have never experienced service like this! The concierge, Camilo took care of our every need and went above and beyond with his service before and during our stay. Jose the grounds keeper was delightful and made sure we had many wildlife encounters. Lucy our Houskeeper kept everything tidy and even washed and folded our clothes. The house is nestled in the forest just a short walk from a beautiful beach and my favorite part of the stay was sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs listening to the wildlife and ocean waves. We were visited by monkeys, sloths, toucans and parrots! This house is in a stunning location, you feel very secluded even though you are close to great restaurants, gift shops and beaches! We were a party of 6 and the house slept 6 very comfortably but something we didn’t realize was that the master with the on-suite was not connected to the main living area where the other two rooms are located. You have to walk outside and up stairs to get to the main living area. We took three recommended excursions and enjoyed them all...King Catamaran, ATV waterfall and Mangrove Estuary tour which was my favorite. I don’t write too many reviews but felt this staff and house made my trip to Costa Rica so special! I hope I can come back and enjoy it again! Thanks Camilo, Jose and Lucy!

My husband, three teenage children, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home with an amazing ocean view and a wide variety of wildlife. It was very private -- we couldn't see any other houses from the balconies. We saw so many monkeys every day -- capuchin, squirrel, and howler monkeys. We sat on the balcony at night and watched sloths feeding in a tree. We also saw toucans and other birds. The staff were very friendly and professional. Lucy, the maid, kept the house spotless and even washed clothes. Jose, the groundskeeper was always working to keep the property in pristine condition and was always willing to answer questions or just chat. Camilo, the concierge contacted me before our trip and offered to arrange meals, travel from the airport, and activities. The three activities he set up for us were very high quality. The Vacation Buggy Waterfall Tour was my favorite. It was a private tour with just our family where we learned a lot about the area, visited a nature preserve with waterfalls and an extension bridge, and ate at a delicious local restaurant. I would highly recommend it! We really enjoyed swimming in the pool when we got back from our activities in the afternoons, or after working up a sweat walking back up the stairs from the beach. I would highly recommend booking a stay at Casa Pura Paz!

Pura Vida - Pure Perfection!
What a beautiful home and location! This vacation exceeded all of our expectations. The home is immaculate and the views are fantastic! We saw sloths daily, were visited by the monkey mafia, and viewed many bird species including a toucan all from the porch. Thank you for the vacation of a lifetime! Jose and Lucy are true gems and made us feel very taken care of. Thanks also to Camilo and Geralyn for assisting us with our travel plans. We will be back!

You will love this place!
Pura Paz and the staff greatly exceeded our expectations. As awesome as the house and view are, the staff is even better! Lucy does an amazing job. She keeps the house spotless and she did our laundry every day. Jose is such a nice guy. He is constantly working around the house. At the same time, he calls himself your personal wildlife spotter. With the help of Jose, we saw 3 sloths from our deck and we had numerous monkeys visiting each day. We also saw macaws and other birds flying around each day. We didn't even go to the National Park because we saw SO much wildlife around the house. We booked Chef Desi on two nights and the food was wonderful. It was especially nice to have dinner ready when we arrived from the drive from San Jose. This house has A/C in each room which is hard to find. The walk to the beach is steep but, doable. The biggest surprise was how incredibly helpful the concierge, Camilo was. He is so organized, promt and on top of things. He got to work the moment we booked the house. He booked all of our activities, transfer from the airport and scheduled our rental car to be delivered to the house. He even contacted the concierge at the second house we were staying at to coordinate with him. While we were in Costa Rica, he checked with us every day. He knew exactly what our plans were every day and made sure everything went smoothly. He ordered food delivery two different times. The pizza place wasn't answering their phone so he drove down there to order the food. When there was some confusion about the drop off date of our rental car, he took care of it in minutes. We didn't need to use a travel agent because Camilo was so helpful. This house is so special and comparing it to many other homes, I think it's a great deal. If you want to have a great ocean view, awesome house and tons of wildlife, this is the place for you.

Casa Pura Paz is a wonderful house with exceptional people looking after you. Lucy the maid went above and beyond by doing our laundry for us. A truly incredible Villa and wonderful Staff
We were over the top excited with our stay at the newly renovated Casa Pura Paz Villa as it is located in such a magical setting with unmatched views and tons of wildlife. Every day we had visits from monkeys, toucans our friendly neighbor sloth, iguanas and every other type of bird that you can think of. The staff tended to all of our needs and the Concierge was always available at all times to answer any questions, provide recommendations on activities, places to eat which made our vacation so relaxing and stress free. We can't wait to come back.

Our stay at Casa Pura Paz was extraordinary!! The house is even more spectacular than the pictures. Gorgeous ocean views and breezes, birds, monkeys, sloths, and ex on the premises theJose, and Luci were around each day to make sure the place was spotless and that we had everything we needed. We stayed at Casa Pura Paz to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday. Everything was amazing--exactly as promised and more. Ocean view, check. Comfortable, clean, well appointment "home away from home" with the friendliest staff and a concierge from heaven, check. Monkey visits, check. And more... My only regret is that we didn't spend our entire 2 week holiday here.

Fabulous stay a Casa Pura Paz
We are two couples who traveled to Costa Rica. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Manuel Antonio, and were very pleased with Casa Pura Paz. We did not have a car, but found it very easy to walk to the restaurants and grocery stores. The Casa itself is amazing. All the bedrooms were well appointed and offered both ceiling fans and A/C. The pool was very refreshing, given the warm temperatures. We walked down to the beach - not too strenuous of an adventure, but an adventure all the same. The beach was sandy and the surf was gentle. The water temperature was perfect, and the beach was not at all crowded.
As for the wildlife...we had a sloth in a tree on the property, plus you could hear the howler monkeys in the morning and early evening. Squirrel monkeys were regular visitors, as well as white faced monkeys. What made this Casa even more spectacular is the concierge/staff, Shiona. She reached out to us as soon as we confirmed our booking, and was always available to help with securing a private shuttle, scheduling a tour, printing important documents, and just basic hand holding. What a huge help! We highly recommend booking any of the houses that are a part of this company's stable of homes. They are immaculate and you won't be disappointed.

Our stay at the Casa Pura Paz was fantastic!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Costa Rica and the Casa Pura Paz operated by CR Vacation Properties is to be commended their fabulous service! The pictures listed on the HomeAway site were spot on! The house in a beautiful, location with great privacy and fantastic staff! Luci and Jose, the staff at the house did an awesome job and were so friendly! Shiona, our amazing concierge, did an outstanding job helping us with the planning of this trip start-to-finish!! She pre-arranged our transportation to and from the airport and the tours and everything always went smoothly!
We so thoroughly enjoyed all the wild life we could see right from the decks of our house - monkeys, sloths, toucans and other birds!
Manuel Antonio/Quepos area is definitely a must see area of Costa Rica and you won't be disappointed staying at the Casa Pura Paz! Pura Vida!!

Wonderful week at Casa Pura Paz
This place has the most amazing view of any place we have stayed in Costa Rica. Shiona, Jose and Luci made our stay so enjoyable. We loved the walk down to the beach and seeing monkeys, sloths and beautiful butterflies so close by. The house itself was the perfect layout for us, clean and well taken care of with a well-stocked kitchen. It was close enough to Quepos for us to go into town and enjoy the local food and activities. I cannot recommend enough!

Beautiful Hillside Overlook
Casa Pura Paz is a beautifully maintained property, perched in the jungle and overlooking a Pacific cove, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms available to the public. An owner's suite is also onsite. Essentially a fulltime housekeeper, Luci, and a fulltime outside maintenance person, Jose, take good care of guests. We attended Jose's optional tour of Isla Damas and its mangroves, and loved it. Shiona, a concierge, was helpful when needed. A steep downhill walk from Casa Pura Paz to the beach is of medium difficulty. This was our fifth trip to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and by far the best housing we've had. Great place. We're likely to book it again. What would we change? We won't be using the local Quepos Budget rental car franchise again, in relation to Casa Pura Paz or anywhere else. Otherwise, wonderful.

The house and its location were a vacation in itself. Could have stayed the week at the house!
I feel fortunate to have found this house. We were 4 women 60/65.
The house came with a full time housekeeper named Lucy. She was fantastic. Not sure how she kept everything so clean and in order without being seen.
Then there were the guards who were also never seen unless you needed the gate opened and then they somehow appeared out of nowhere. Amazing.
I never felt unsafe but I was glad that I did not have to worry about some would-be opportunist thieves coming in and rummaging through our stuff as the house is not visible from the road. There are thieves in every part of the world.
Then there was the maintenance man Jose. I can not say enough good things about him. He took such good care of us. He even walked down to the beach to make sure we made it ok. He found the sloth for us. Very caring and compassionate.
The house was very comfortable and we felt at home. The first morning we had a chef come in and prepare breakfast. This is the way to go. He brought so much food that we ate from it all week. Especially the fruit. It was a good value for the money. We used chef Ivan. The total bill was $145.00 with food for 4. Excellent chef.
The cons of the house are very few but there are a couple.
I loved the stairs kept me in shape. However, if one had trouble with stairs one would need to be aware.
The bathroom on the main floor has only one sink and one shower head. When I say one shower head sounds odd but there is room in the walk-in shower for at least 3. It’s a great shower. Benches to sit on if needed.
That’s it on the cons.
I highly recommend this house. As a side note. We rented a car from Vamos which for an extra $5.00 a day we had a phone with Waze and to make local calls.
There are no addresses to speak of so maps are almost useless. We arrived shortly after dark and this made it a little difficult to find the house. There was a tree high up with purple lights that helped guide us just close to the house.
