About this house rental
Private cottage 100 metres from the white sand of Spring Beach. The cottage is on a large block in a bush setting with beautiful views of the beach, Maria Island and the Triabunna lighthouse. Birds are in abundance and there is also a resident echidna and occasional sightings of wallabies and wombats.
The sunny cottage has a large deck around the eastern and northern sides. The front deck is ideal for breakfasting in the sunshine and watching the waves, the fishing boats heading out and the morning joggers. The side deck is a great place for a BBQ and an evening drink in the setting sun. There is a large grassed area for boules or badminton and there is also an on-site tennis court (all equipment provided).
The main bedroom with queen bed opens onto a sun-room with a sofa bed and wonderful beach views (can be closed off with sliding doors). The second bedroom has a set of bunkbeds, a single bed and a trundle so can sleep up to four. A portacot, highchair and pram are also available and there are some childrens' toys, books, DVDs and buckets and spades.
A cosy wood heater warms the entire house and wood is supplied.
The kitchen is stocked with basic condiments and tea and coffee.

There are magnificent scenic walks from Spring Beach with paths around the cliffs at either end of the beach. To access the southern cliff walk, climb the steps to the Bluff at the end of the beach and then walk in front of the row of houses (it is public land) to the point and you can then continue until the path rejoins Rheban Road. The round trip takes about half an hour. For a longer walk you can follow the road until you reach the track down to Stapleton Beach.
The northern cliff walk commences on the track near the public BBQs and passes through bushland and past an old quarry before reaching the cliff edge. This track has recently been upgraded and is wide enough to facilitate prams and continues as far as Shelley Beach.
Spring Beach is good for swimming and the southern end provides good snorkelling. The rockpools at either end of the beach are always popular with the children.
Orford is a 5 minute drive away and has a fully stocked supermarket, a post office, a cafe and pizza restaurant and childrens' playground. Across the bridge there is also a hotel, bottle-shop, seafood restaurant and take away.
Darlington Winery is at the northern end of Orford and offers free tastings.
There is a pop-up cinema at local venues on a weekly basis and the Bowls Club has special meals for guests on Friday nights.

Very old & dated. Extra cleaning charge outrageous as property had lots of cobwebs in the house and wasn't as clean as it could have been.

This house has a holiday feel to it. You leave and want tocome back immediately. A beautiful quiet place surrounded by nature and opposite a terrific beach. A fireplace with plenty of timber and a short 4km drive for provisions. It has a well stocked kitchen and bathroom facilities. A warm sunroom off the main bedroom to sit and chill watching and listening to the surf roll in.

The property is lovely. It has everything you need and is right by a beautiful beach. We loved going across to Maria Island to see the wombats.

There is nothing more welcoming than walking into your accommodation on a cold day & having a lovely fire going, was so appreciated. A beautiful homely place with great views & a private yard, had everything we needed, highly recommend this place.

A good cottage with all the basics - we had three adults staying and it was enough room for the three of us. Beautiful sunrise view, super close to the beach, and a good fireplace which we made the most of during our winter stay. Also had other heating options (small heaters and electric blankets).
We enjoyed Spring Beach - a very quiet town especially as we were there off-peak, but we enjoyed a visit to Maria Island, the local distillery, and beach walks.

This seaside property had wonderful views, and was located close to triabunna for the ferry to Maria Island. The woodstove kept the place toasty warm and we had everything we needed for a comfortable two days. We loved the fact that the owners gave any profits to charity and were pleased to be able to support them. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to friends.

Everything was as advertised. An older property, but well maintained. It was very well equipped. Access to the beach was easy. Apparently some people have seen echidnas, but we didn’t. The only little problem was that we didn’t know which property it was. There are several at the same address. Would have been so easy to just say it was number 3, and would have saved some angst. Otherwise lovely stay.

Very enjoyable and relaxing 3 day break.
Perhaps a map of local walks / points of interest etc would be useful.
Thank you

The host was fantastic and kept me informed of happenings at the property. The host was informative when I asked for dining opportunities. Although the weather was adverse the wood heater warmed the excellent accommodation which was extremely clean and the added pantry items were a bonus. I will check the dates for another stay.

First off couldn’t contact owner. Couldn’t find the place Couldn’t find information on the internet. Luckily we asked a neighbour who was the secrets of the strata complex and he was able to get us in. He tried to contact the owner with no success. Lovely location

A lovely getaway!
We had an excellent weekend in Spring Beach. The villa had everything we needed and the sun room turned out to be the perfect bedroom for our 1 year old to sleep. It was like a bonus bedroom. Had a little trouble finding it in the dark but the info didn't mention the villa number, just the address. Was easily solved with a quick call to the owner. Will definitely be booking again in the summer!

A truly lovley villa in a beautiful location.
Just a shame that the magnificent view in the photos is now compromised by the tree growth. Other than that it was delightful.

Lovely place for a family
Brilliant location, short walk to a great beach with a beautiful view. We were very fortunate with the weather so were swimming 3x a day - but even in cloudy or rainy weather it would be a cozy place to stay. Facilities are all great - not flashy or luxury, but everything we needed and super relaxing. Very friendly host, very clean, very good value, and lovely that host donates profits to charity

More beautiful than any photo!
The cottage was a joy of serenity and stunning views. The walks and beach were fantastic. So comfortable and easy and very clean. Maria Is. is a must..and the location of the cottage made this very easy…especially after the view of it from the lovely front deck. Would love to come again and stay longer. The philanthropic gesture is heartwarming and quite unique.

Relaxing stay with great views
I had a great stay at Spring beach cottage. I had stopped in overnight from Freycinet, on my way back to Hobart, and I found it to be quiet, comfortable, and well equipped. The view from the cottage was amazing,, with spring beach and Maria island out the living room window and the beach a short walk away. It was a very relaxing stay and I just wish I had stayed a bit longer. In all my communication with Lorne while booking, he was very helpful and provided me with all the information I needed. I’d recommend staying here and I’d be happy to return.

Excellent Spring Beach Accommodation
Clean, cosy and comfortable. The views from the property were amazing overlooking Spring Beach and Maria Island.
The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, crockery, cutlery and various condiments. Tea and coffee, a toaster and jug. A full size fridge, electric stove with grill. The breakfast bar and dining table was great.
A fire warmed the lounge, wood was available at the front door. The sunroom off the main bedroom was sunny and seating comfortable.
The bedrooms were very comfortable with lots of storage. Bathroom included washing machine and dryer.
All linen was supplied with extra available.
Nice leisurely walks, a nice sheltered position.
The host provided excellent information.

All was just as it was described before we arrived. Beautiful. It may be 'older' but it is immaculate. View from bedroom, lounge and deck wondrous. Beach liquid crystal.

Fantastic location, very comfortable & great to know profits are donated to charity
We loved being so close to Spring Beach, the views of Maria Island, morning sunshine, great coastal walks etc. The cottage was clean, comfroatble and had everything we needed. The fact hat the profits are donated to a range of charities is very generous and heartening.
