About this house rental

This 8 year old beach house with internet is situated overlooking Spring Beach, the southern gateway to Tasmania's iconic East Coast. It has been designed by Parker Design and Rebecca Kirkland of Bury and Kirkland Interior Designers have been recruited to create this fabulous house.

It has three bedrooms, with two large decks and has been designed and built to maximise your holiday experience.

The white sands of Spring Beach are a three minute walk away. All three bedrooms face east and have views of the beach, Mercury Passage and Maria Island.

From the main bedroom, you can relax in the queen bed, open the automatic blind, and view the beach and across to Maria Island. The ensuite bathroom gives the impression you are in the tree tops with its windows overlooking Oyster Bay pines and local bushland with abundant native bird life.

The main room contains a cooks kitchen with European appliances, great knives and accessories to create any meal.

The lounge area has comfortable couches, an easy chair and top of the range Sony 55cm TV and Play Station 4. A range of general videos is also available. Heating/cooling is provided by reverse cycle air conditioning. All windows are double glazed for thermal efficiency and comfort.

There are two 2 metre day beds on the northern wall. Lying on the comfortable cushions you can relax with magnificent views of Darlington on Maria Island. The occasional boat and pods of dolphins are often seen whilst relaxing.

The front deck is 7mx4.5m and accessed through a 6 metre bank of sliding doors. The rear deck is 7mx3.5m and warmed by the afternoon sun. In the morning you can have a leisurely breakfast on the front deck with fantastic sea views and if the sea breeze comes in you can retreat to the rear deck to read your book or have your pre-dinner drink.

Down stairs has a queen bedroom with excellent views of Maria Island and the sea. The third bedroom has a queen bed and two bunk beds.
There is a sitting room with a large corner lounge, and 48cm TV and a DVD player. It is an excellent alternative space for kids escaping parents or vice versa.

The bathroom/laundry has a walk in shower, automatic front loader washing machine and sensor dryer.

The small entry deck at the back door has an outdoor hot and cold shower.

Guests need to be aware the beach house is on tank water.

The property is fully fenced and we welcome pets.

The beach house is in a quiet residential area and not suitable for parties

So much for you to do

The house offers a great base to enjoy the beach, explore the local cliffs or venture further afar to explore the local forests, great wineries and Freycinet Peninsular.

You are welcome to use our two kayaks at the beach or in the calmer waters of the nearby Prosser River. There are strict water safety regulations governing kayaks in Tasmania and the supplied life jackets must be worn at all times.

The house has a collection of board and card games,toys and videos for your family to enjoy.

There is an excellent 5km coastal walk to Orford along the clifftops and beaches.

Local vineyards include Darlington at Orford. Further afield are Milton, Freycinet, Spring Vale and Coombend.

For those with a boat, launching ramps are available at West Shelly, Prosser River at Orford and Triabunna.

Hobart is an easy 50 min drive away for a day trip to MONA or Salamanca

This was our third stay at this fabulous beach house. The house is in a great location just minutes from Spring Bay Beach. It is warm and sunny with stunning views across to Maria Island. It is quiet and relaxing and has all the amenities you need. Highly recommended!

Spring Beach is a great place to swim or just walk on the beach. The property is at the end of a battleaxe block, so no road noise with enough height above sea level to provide spectacular views of Maria Island and the beach itself. The property is as described and was our beachside home for 6 nights. We loved opening the back kitchen windows and the big sliding door to the front deck. The flow through breeze is a must have. Golfers bring your sticks and get in a round with the really friendly locals at Orford GC, including others whose 'shacks' (they are anything but) are filled over weekends. We recommend Scorchers and Elly's to eat, the IGA in Orford for a good range of groceries and the Thirsty Camel for a great range of wines. Big shout out to Mick AKA Michael from East Coast Cruises. His ship cruises out of Triabunna and we spent the better part of a day with he and Milly doing the circumnavigation of Maria Island. The $64 question, would we go back- you bet!

Another fantastic weekend at spectacular 'Maria Island Vista'. This large, beautifully equipped home overlooking Spring Beach with its aqua surf and white sands is our favourite place to stay on Tasmania's east coast. As clean, fresh and beautifully maintained as ever, it has the capacity to sleep at least two families and is happily puppy friendly. My partner and I had a gorgeous weekend at Maria Island Vista. No matter what the weather there's beauty everywhere This is my third visit and everything is as clean, new and pristine as ever. There's comfort everywhere too - lovely bed, cozy couches for relaxing after beach walks, bluff walks, eating and drinking, there's ample outdoor seating and a big dining room table...everything you could ask for and more. This property is just gorgeous. Beautiful views, amazing layout inside and so close to the lovely Spring Beach. My three boys aged 5-7 my husband and I and my mum stayed here for three glorious nights. We loved the location, my boys (big and small) spent as much time in the ocean as they could. When we were at the house the boys had their own lounge room to relax in, while we relaxed either on the day beds inside or on the huge deck looking over the ocean to Maria Island. This property is a must stay. We loved look forward to going back again.

Great position, fabulous accommodation. There was plenty of room for three couples. Couldn’t get over the quality of light in the living area - windows on three sides, made for a very soothing atmosphere. Didn’t want to go out - except for the Maria Island circumnavigation cruise, which was brilliant. The rest of the time we were more than happy to relax, read and walk our small pooches on the beach. Like to stay again next year.

Loved this property. Amazing location and view of the beach with two decks to choose from as well as being able to open up the house so it felt like the living space was outside too. Spacious bedrooms and comfy beds. Had everything you need and more. Only a short walk to the beach and loved being able to have our pups with us too. Excellent communication from host, highly recommend this house to anyone wanting a luxury beach holiday.
