The room was clean and cosy.
Breakfast didn't start until 8:00, 7:00 would have been better.
4.1
Beautiful castle, great room and wonderful service.
Loved everything.

Location was perfect for us for Edinburgh airport in the morning. Nice surroundings. Loved the castle setting
4.1
The castle is very beautiful and the room was enchanting. The restaurant is amazing, the food was really good and the waitresses were dears and professional.
There is no elevator.
When we left, we told them the day before that we needed to go early to the airport. I could carry my own suitcase in the stairs but the lady at the recpetion didn't want me to. She insisted the boys should take it down. They were difficult to find. She had to call twice before one came. He was sweeping the terrace floor outside. Maybe until 9-10 am, they should be at the reception and wait for customers to check out before doing such tasks.

Das Ambiente passt zur Vorstellung, in einem schottischen Schloss zu übernachten. Es wirkt authentisch und eher gemütlich als luxuriös.
Das Frühstück füllte den Magen, das war‘s dann auch schon.

The location is very picturesque and the main exterior was a beautiful. A small castle surrounded by woodland, a small village and farmland. The interior decor of the 'Four Poster' room was lovely and had an authentic castle feel (matched the photos well). The restaurant was brilliant! The food at dinner was exceptional and breakfast was lovely too.
There was a line up of people waiting to be served when we checked in and nobody was around. We had to ask in the restaurant and they tried to find someone. Only one person seemed to be available to deal with any hotel related business (the bar & restaurant seemed to be run as separate entities to the hotel). The elevator was broken/removed and boarded up. The bed was very hard. The hotel looks in photos to be grand but in reality seems to be run on a tight/low budget.

Everything.
Reception was helpful and friendly, the guy running the restaurant was knowledgeable and engaging and the food was excellent.
If you’re in the area, stay here.
Nothing, best place I’ve stayed in years.
4.1
dinner was good. Room was big but empty. Bathroom modern
No elevator, Room was big but empty. Halls smelled musty. You can tell that it is under new management. Needs some love and attention
4.1
Dormir dans un château, au calme, avec restau et petit-déjeuner.
La taille de la chambre très spacieuse avec son haut plafond.
Un peu "dans son jus" notamment la moquette au sol dans l escalier et les robinets de la salle de bain!

Leanne in reception was so accommodating to our needs and Lizzy made the bar very inviting for the whole family. Pool table was a bonus for the kids. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the rooms were warm and comfortable. Great value for money!
Lift not working.
4.1
Very impressive bedroom
Externally the grounds need some attention and hopefully the new owners will attend to this given time
4.1
Room size was OK. Atmosphere is good. Sufficient parking. Breakfast staff was friendly.
I had booked 2 rooms, but my colleague could not join. No return of the money possible. Also not even a free drink or anything as compensation for the cost. Just said it was not possible to do anything. Room was not clean, very dusty. Hotel is bit worn anyway, could do with some TLC. Restaurant was closed as the chef was not available.

The setting.
We were nor allowed to use the lift.

Location, clean spacious rooms, vintage castle feeling, nice bar and restaurant, kind staff at reception,
lack of staff at breakfast, very unefficient service at breakfast, wifi not working in the rooms
4.1
The breakfast was lovely and the staff were great.
It wasn't their fault but our evening meal was cancelled due to a bereavement which we were looking forward to. Also, the rooms and hotel looked better on the website, all a little tired.
4.1
Food and wait staff were excellent.
Nowhere to hang towels, shower drain didn’t, no fan in bathroom and window was stuck closed, cups were dirty, room was dusty and our friends next door found a live bed bug! Sorry, wouldn’t stay there again.
P.S. The response that our friends were moved isn't true - they were in room 16 throughout their stay

Staff were really polite and friendly . Food was very good
No telephone in the room and the WiFi didn't work in the room either. Worst view from a room window ever
4.1
Beautiful country setting.
Room was stark and lift was out of order.
4.1
Room was very comfortable, parking was good, food in restaurant was excellent.
Had to book all meals at set times inc. breakfast, would have preferred this to be more flexible. TV in room was a bit too small.

Staff were so friendly made us very welcome felt like home from home nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent service was superb. Our room was lovely stunning views clean and comfortable
There was only 1 thing we didn't like and that was that the staff we felt should be wearing a uniform with aprons and maybe the hotel logo on the uniforms
