This Riad is a wonderful place for anyone who does not want to stay in the heart of Marrakech. While it is roughly 25 minutes from the city centre, the Riad is absolutely worth the drive. The location is in an authentic local village with no touristic attractions around - which we found even more charming. Otherwise, the Riad has been very well designed to create a modern, cozy and comfortable place for its guests. The rooms had their original charm and so did the entire hotel. The service, food and everything else was absolutely worth the price we paid.
The only negative side of the hotel is the location. Since it is a very authentic area, in the night you can hear cats and dogs fighting loudly. We only stayed one night but we can imagine that this happens regularly which strongly disrupts the sleep. It is generally not the most quiet hotel due to the way the rooms are located and the animals which surround the place.

Emplacement très calme
Le personnel au petit soin hyper gentils
Le quartier où est place l’hôtel fais un peu « peur » au première abord mais sa ne craint pas du tout et le réceptionniste sort à chaque fois Que vous arriver devant l’hôtel

the scenic backdrop of this place is unique. the staff adorable, the big room we got and the Hammam experience
i thought it was located in the Palmeraie, but not. nonetheless there is really nothing to do at the Palmeraie (except quad and camels ride), so not that dramatic at all. free shuttle at 10am and return at 6pm every day if you want to spend a day in the Medina.

It is an exceptional building with great details of the art. loved the pool and sunrise from the balcony. fresh breakfast was best which has been made live in front of us.
The location is a bit weird.

Nicely designed Riad-Type Hotel, nice, dpaceous rooms with large balconies/terraces, good service, and a decent breakfast
the area was kind of an experience, the cocktails were a bit on the weak side, and the food they serve is (for what it is) a bit overpriced

Caravan Serai was perfect for us. We were looking for a rest and a get away from it all and it served its purpose! It was charming and had an old traditional feel to it. The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. We had a delightful New Year's eve there - such a lovely atmosphere and the fire was very welcome - it does cool down a bit in the evening in December/January.
We didn't use the pool - a little too chilly - but it is very attractive.
Breakfast was plentiful! Choice of breads, pancakes, tomatoes, olives, meat, eggs and fruit honey, coffee and mint tea.
There were many cats there - all well looked after but they don't bother you if you are not fond of them.
Had a gorgeous hamman spa there too
It's not really a didn't like - more a need to know!
It is a little way out of Marrakech - about 15 minutes drive or so from the centre so you need to factor that in. However the hotel does have many drivers who can take you in and pick you up easily so that's not a problem and they know where they are going too. You need to factor this in to your budget. A taxi may have been cheaper but the hotel is located down some rather small unmade roads which on the first impression look difficult to find! Please don't be put off by this on arrival!

Beautiful, atmospheric, quiet and incredibly helpful staff. Wonderful nooks and spots to sit and relax. The massage and hammam were a great bonus.

The staff is great. The house is amazing. The breakfast was so nice. The swimming pool is beautiful.
You can feel its hard to maintain this huge house and the furniture dont look so clean. The european menu is not great but I guess marocain food is great. The hot water is not super hot. The hammam close too early :) !!

the staff were so friendly, kind and helpful they made our stay so special. the property is about a 20 min drive from the centre of Marrakech which after the hustle and bustle there we welcomed the tranquility and calm. the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the pool is just lovely and they offer hamman and massage. it is also very family friendly. there is a daily shuttle to marrakech or the property will organise a driver for you.
more sunbeds by the pool please. more variety for dinner.

large rooms, antique, very friendly staf
considering the warm weather it was better if there was free cold water aside the pool.

Great for quiet 2 days after 2 days of walking around Marrakesh. Very relaxing and peaceful. Clearly look after animals within grounds - cats and tortoises well cared for.
Menu is limited and the same both days, this is fine for a short stay but a taxi is needed if you want to leave the hotel.

Pool was very cold.

Great staff, great looking traditional place with heaps of character and only 15 mins drive into Marakech centre. You will need a taxi. The photos in booking.com were obviously professionally done because not all was as expected. Great tasty traditional food and the owner Philipe was a true gentleman! Guys working behind the bar, Hamza and Hamid were great and stars of the show!
Rather expensive at nearly 90 euros a night and we had to move rooms because it wasn't as clean as we had expected. The hamman was only switched on on request with a payment which we thought may have been included as part of the rate. The pictures in Booking.com seemed to purvey the sense that the property was in the middle of no where, out in the countryside, but in fact, it is right bang part of the poorest village around which may come as a shock to some!
9.2
Relaxing quiet place. Beautiful view of the countryside from balcony, palm trees all around (my favorites). Clean pool. Warm and friendly staff.
No convenient stores nearby. Meals not available after 2230 hours hence 15-20 minutes drive to the nearest restaurant
