Fantastic hotel, with friendly and very helpful staff only too happy to help. Rooms were spacious with an impressive choice at breakfast every morning.
Perfect location just off the main street, with all shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.
At 3pm every day, a freshly made (and always delicious) cake was laid out for residents to enjoy.

Such a great location, right in the middle of town. Exceptional breakfast and all facilities were great!

Staff were very friendly, made a special effort for our honeymoon with roses. Rooms were huge, velvet fluffy robes, cake of the day was delicious! Great location - walking distance to town. Easy to get users everywhere for the vineyards and walking distance to the tram!

Chloe checked us in and throughout our stay was incredibly friendly, professional and informative. Breakfast was excellent.
Accommodation was also superb.

Staff were lovely, room was very clean and comfortable, location was perfect.
Unfortunately our stay was dampened by a large group of guests that took over the common areas of the hotel with their gatherings, music, and loud drunken behaviour. Our room was located just off the common area so we struggled to sleep.

We loved everything with the place. Exceptionally friendly staff, great rooms, warm and cosy fireplace and wonderful breakfast. Boutique feeling altogether.

TV not working most of the time

Very nicely situated and tastefully decorated
Very expensive.

Amazing staff, went beyond to help us out. Gorgeous rooms and lovely hotel, photos don't do it justice. Great location a couple roads back from the centre of town.
Whilst we didn't use the pool, the area looked a bit dated compared to the rest of the hotel which was gorgeous.

nice location and nice breakfast
We had a few issues.
No key was left for our door on arrival so it took a while for us to be able to locate this and to be able to lock the door, and we were then caused to be late to go out for dinner. we were left with limited options.
The safe also faulty so we had to get help to unlock this so we weren’t able to use this after the 1st night.
On the second night, the cleaners had been in to “turn down the room” and they left our door wide open. So when we came back late, it had been left unlocked and totally accessible to other guests, also bearing in mind our safe was not usable

Lovely hotel. There is nothing I didn't like. It was exactly as I expected it to be: wonderful. Highly recommended. We were so sad to leave after only four nights and found the stay was over too soon. What we like above all: The Tree House Boutique Hotel is committed to a sustainable future and to improving the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the community, and the planet.
Please note that there are more hotels in the Living Journey Collection. From here we went straight to the one in Cape Town (Tree House Hotel) which is perfect too.

Very happy with our one night stay

Location of this hotel is excellent if you want to be in a quiet area within easy walking distance of the town centre.
Staff and rooms were very high standard at the price point.
Only drawback was beyond the hotel’s control, constant ‘load sharing’ power outages which were far worse here than in most parts of South Africa. There appear to be local regulations preventing businesses, not just hotels, from using generators during these times so there was no power for large periods each day.
I’d recommend that travellers consider this before visiting the area at all at the moment, though this hotel did a better job than most of mitigating the current situation (with torches, Wi-Fi backup, etc)
Very little about the hotel. See above from general area regarding power at this point in time.

An excellent hotel, Little touches were nice. They handled power outages well. Staff were very attentive, breakfast high quality. Short walking distance from town.
A little bit on the pricy side, but considering the travel environment I don't blame them.

Location. Breakfast
The bed- too hard

Beautifully presented. Tasteful, eco friendly, great room.
Not enough sun beds. No electric generator therefore without electricity for significant hours each day.

The staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel was located within walking distance to the main street.
We booked a pricey suite to have a nice view and a balcony or terrace. Our room was located next to a public stair case which left us with no privacy. We had to keep our curtains closed as everyone walking past could look straight into our room. So we couldn't enjoy the view or our small balcony and felt very uncomfortable. That made our room over priced and left us with a very disappointing and ordinary experience. Not what we had in mind or expected from a 5-star hotel. Furthermore our room was located in the "new" building which is very ordinary. It lacked all the charm of the main house, which is where we expected to be. Other frustrations included not having a mirror in our suite and no generator to deal with load shedding. We requested a room with a bath when we made the reservation, but didn't get a bath... Overall it felt more like a guest house than a 5-star hotel. We are very fussy when we choose a hotel and did a lot of research before choosing Chapter House. Being so unhappy with our allocated room ruined our stay and overall impression of the hotel. Sadly we won't be returning.

Excellent location. Great and friendly staff. Clean new rooms. Exceptional breakfast. Everything was just perfect!
Nothing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel; spacious room with outdoor private pool!
Noise outside of the room being located next to breakfast area
4.5
Friendly welcome which created impression of professionalism and care
We had to wait long for a drink we ordered while waiting for our room to be cleaned for occupation. The pool patio cushions are badly soiled and unsightly. Our nightmare began when we tried accessing the parking area in the rain during lockdown. An inefficient assistant could not help. I was enraged and had to settle parking outside the property and ended up in my room soaking wet and fuming. I did not get value for money.

The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay good ( extra shout out to Byron but everyone was fab! ) The place is beautiful with the new accommodation a stunning addition. Breakfast was amazing , the cooked option just sheer quality ingredients and tasted fab. Location is really close to the Main Street but super quiet. What was most impressive was also the customer service when we had a problem with the room ( things happen with buildings ) , not only were we moved we received a complimentary bottle of wine! Great place , Great Stay, Great Customer service. We will be back.
