The resort is located in a prime area, covering a vast, perfectly maintained grassy field that leads to a private beach. It has several pools spread across the entire property, which are rarely crowded. The tranquility is complete, and the sense of peace is absolute. Great care has been taken with all the facilities.

The staff was amazing. Friendly, helpful, really, nothing we could have wished for more. Also very nice pool and very clean and good restaurant. We trusted this restaurant completely. Kololi beach tried to have some kind of activity every day, which is commendable. Location for us was excellent except for the bar across the street (see negative comments). We loved Kololi so much we will definitely be back and hope to great the same staff again.
A bar across the street has a license to have live music till very late. Not the fault of Kololi (they were there first), but in practice, one side of the building suffers from a lot of noise (and so do the other hotels in the neighborhood, I guess). Staff was very friendly and did their best to move us to another, more quit, location immediately (again, many thanks). But in practice, Kololi can not really rent these rooms out anymore and shouldn't. Further, and we get to the really minor stuff, the shower doors are not well designed or put in place. As we were in two similar rooms (a noisy one and a quit one), we could compare, and they both had the same problem of not smoothly closing on one side. Also the same problem in both rooms was a little musty smell. With the use of the room you didn't notice in practice, but a good look at the airco for instance will probably fix this.

Staff are very accommodating and provide excellent customer care. There is a very relaxing feel around the hotel grounds and excellent atmosphere- it is not too crowded. The room given was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable.
What I didn't like (initial room given close to music from street) was promptly addressed by the concierge with his excellent customer care.

We had a stone apartment, well equipped and everything you need inside. It's perfect, if you want to cook by yourself. Staff is very friendly. We would recommend it. Please be aware, that wifi is not always working, but it is very easy and cheap to buy a local SIM card and mobile data. Furthermore, if you have stone apartment: at night, it's loud due to music and dance - but this is the normal thing in The Gambia. We enjoyed our stay and will come back.

The serenity of the environment
No Wi-Fi and there was no intercom so communication was difficult
5.0 / 10.0
The environment was good but it lacked intercom to reach the front office when there was a need to contact them particularly about the poor Wi-Fi. Breakfast was not part of the cost neither was there TV for those who traveled for work not leisure
Guests should have the option of bed & breakfast particularly for those who are not on leisure trip. Lack of intercom , poor Wi-Fi service & no Tv after a long day

The location was good and the staff were very friendly. The Facility engineer was very nice and helpful.
The facility is too old. The air conditioner was not strong enough for the living room. Our first night was a nightmare due to lack of air conditioning. The bathrooms had a strong smell. The staff did their best to clean them, but they still had a strong stench. The hot water was terrible. It's hot one second and cold the next. Taking a shower was not a pleasant experience. We were in the Pen house, Spring 17. It wasn't worth the amount of money we spent.

Nice location and very friendly and helpful staff.
Was for sure ones top notch, but now it is a bit worn out. Resident people do not really appreciate other guests. They seem to wanna have the property for themselves, insisting on tables, sun beds, etc.

I’ve been to The Gambia before and Kololi Beach Resort is by far the best place I have stayed. Every member of the team were very friendly and helpful. The cleaning of the rooms was impeccable.
nothing to dislike

Completely revamped resort, unrecognisable from a few years ago. The entrance is now much closer to the Senegambia "strip". Stayed in a studio in a brand new block. The room was comfortable and kitted out with cooking facilities, a fridge and aircon. Wifi was a little slow but dependable.
No TV in the room.

I like the fact that I could wake up in the morning and within a few steps enjoy the beach.
The female receptionist. Upon check out she was rude and inconsiderate. Despite me having my receipt from the restaurant she wanted me to stand there. She called the restaurant and verified that there was nothing left that was billed to my room. She still wanted to waste my time over nothing. She seemed to think it was funny because she was laughing.

I arrived to the property late night as it was supposed and there was no one to receive me more than an security guard, who even didn't know where my room was.
At my bath-room there were not any towels for me, and at the early morning when I searched for some people at the reception or any other satff to get me some towels, no one was there. I waited until 09:15 by the arrival to the reception staff and only then I could take my bath and prepare myself for the meetings I had already scheduled for the first hours.
At my booking I asked for breakfast. At the hotel I realize that is not usual at that hotel and there was no one to serve the breakfast before 09-10am.
