Douneside house it’s a beautiful place surrounded by an amazing scenery. Nice walking areas to have a fresh air. The staff is amazing, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Food was incredible! In general it was a beautiful experience and I was happy that we chose this place to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday 🎂.

The staff is absolutely fantastic; food is exquisite; the property and the wellness center make the choice a no brainer.

The house itself is beautiful with lots of cosy areas to sit. The bar was good and there was a lovely atmosphere in both restaurants. There were nice walks around the property. The pool and sauna and steam room were a good size. Every member of staff we met was pleasant and helpful. An absolutely perfect place to chill.
It was perfect.

The food (taster menu) is surreally delicious. The venue is fantastic and very atmospheric, and you get the impression everything is done to make your stay unforgettable. Excellent friendly service. Clean, if somewhat functional, spa facilities.
Nothing really. Only remark is that while I haven't seen the rooms in the main hotel building except on pictures, but the modern style of the flats is not particularly special compared to the former.

Unfortunately, I was unable to take full advantage of the services as I became very ill. My friend did, however, ask for some food items at odd hours and staff was wonderful in providing whatever they could. Everyone was so kind, thank you!
It was all fabulous! My friend would have loved to have had longer pool hours as when we were traveling around the countryside, you didn’t want to miss a minute of sunshine, but then the pool would be closed.

The highlight was the tasting menu and wine flight dinner. It was excellent. We have been before, but this was the best meal yet.

The staff were all most pleasant, helpful and attentive and the public rooms were all comfortable and well kept. The restaurant and food quality were to a very high standard and all very acceptable.
When booking I understood that I booked a delux room as the visit was both a wedding anniversary and birthday celebration. Upon arrival we were shoe-horned into what appeared to be one of the 'small cosy rooms' to accommodate one person, and we had a 3night stay. By way of illustrating this the coffee making facility was a single cup cafetiere. So this room situation put a damper on the expectations of our stay. That said, in every other respect our stay was excellent

Not to complain about facilities, but if you decide to have a sauna, do it right! I have never seen such a poorly designed sauna. No privacy, cold shower facing the poolside, no refreshments, not even water, no sauna sheets, two useless deck chairs, broken timer. Simply things, one would expect to find in a facility of what otherwise definitely is very fine hotel.

the location is beautiful, the gardens and grounds are magnificent. The service was very friendly and efficient. the food was excellent, a very minor criticism would be that a slightly wider choice on the dinner menu would be great. Definitely a great decision to stay here.

Leisure facilities were good. And the setting was lovely.
The limited food options. No bar menu available or appropriate food for children/ vegetarian. Only formal dining as an option. Breakfast was not great. Weak coffee, no fresh pastries or breads or cereals. Not the standard I expected.

The dining room, bar, accommodations, the grounds, and the service were all top notch.
Got a little tired of the music playlist in the dining room. It detracted from the ambiance of the dining room.

We traveled 4 adults and had the benefit of being allocated a nice cottage like house with 2 bedrooms and a nice and well functioning combined living room / kitchen. Dinner and Breakfast at the Douneside House, made a proper shame of the notion that the chef's in the UK makes poor food - The food is excellent and very well worth a try.....
While staying we didn't encounter anything that caused us to considder that things or facilities would benefit from a change.
