Nice green environment, pleasure time to stay with this relax moment

Food in the restaurant was above expectations. Staff was polite and professional.
Value for money is also fantastic.
Would definitely come back if we visit the Lakes again.
Rooms are a bit outdated, and some black mould on the edges of the shower. Nothing major.

Nice Staff. Grand setting. Good value. Food - big portions, nice and good value. Beautiful location.
Room and bed a bit tired but but to be fair was priced to reflect this. Peacocks in the grounds - at first I thought wow that's cool but then when their screaming calls only stop at dusk and start again at first light, the disruption to sleep wasn't that great....

beautiful location, friendly staff the breakfast was great 😊
the green lights in the room kept me awake all night - I presume they are for fire safety reasons

Dinner was good Breakfast was OK. They could not provide Decaf coffee. the French Press was dirty and broken. The coffee ended up FULL of grounds
They advertised "real ales" They did not have any. Could have been too early in their season? carpet in reataurant was very dirty. Overall upkeep of this beautiful old manor home was not great. Chair in bedroom was almost broken

I liked the grounds and the animals.
The restaurant and food was delicious and breakfast was a fabulous selection.
The green exit light in the bedroom.

Breakfast and dinner very good, staff very friendly, lovely setting.
Bedrooms were cold all the time, unable to use spa bath in room 4 as it sent out black bits, whole hotel also felt cold most of the time.

Fantastic food, spacious and clean room and the staff were very warm and welcoming. The whole experience felt relaxing and I felt at ease as soon as I walked in. This is a testament to the fantastic staff. Would definitely come back.
Nothing at all. Great value for money

Breakfast was good. Location was a little remote but thus was a plus.
The bed room lighting. A bright dimmable light would have been ideal.

Lovely historic building full of character
Plenty parking
Breakfast excellent!! 10/10

We liked everything from the gorgeous location to the beautiful building and the overall experience. The staff were very helpful and everywhere was so clean.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the accommodation but the only thing that spoilt the experience a little was the noise from a group partying at night.

Breakfast was really nice with plenty of choice , freshly cooked English breakfast, huge 3 egg omelette and eggs Benedict and more available , dinner menu was varied and portions large , meals arrived piping hot , prices very reasonable, room was quite small but adequate with large bathroom with spa bath
No hairdryer in our room , did report to reception but didn’t really spoil our stay

Building has a lovely facade and the peacocks / geese are lovely
Plenty of parking
Most staff friendly and helpful though they have a lot to do
Large bedroom
Decent tasty pub type food
Disappointed with lack of character inside building, which does need a revamp as it's looking quite dated.
Mostly clean room however parts were a bit dirty and curtains let lots of light in.
Noisy in the night - old place so understandable but didn't sleep.
Bar / restaurant needs some attention - furniture and ambiance could be improved as the food is good.

What I liked best was that it was excellent value for money, very clean, beautiful grounds. All basic things were provided.
There was no hair dryer. A bit disorganised regarding dinner and breakfast arrangements. We were told there was no place for breakfast. Then there was call to say that there was a place for us. By then we had arranged breakfast and I cancelled it. But the next day we were asked as why we did not come for breakfast!!!!!We said we had cancelled it but the message obviously did not get through.

Location. Comfortable and staff going the extra mile. Great food.
There wasn't anything I can think of. The green light shining all night is annoying but it is a safety feature. Didn't disturb sleep.

Very comfortable and homely. Staff were very pleasant and food was great. Beautiful, quiet location
Had prepaid for the two rooms, so only had to pay for evening meal and drinks, about £66 for the two of us. However, when I came to pay the bill, they had already taken an additional cost of a room (£110), so they owed me £44. I have never, ever known this before in my 40 years of travelling. How can they overcharge you automatically without your prior consent, then owe you money - quite bizarre! I am now waiting to see how long it takes to get my money back!
