Restaurant..
Public areas were too cold. Bedroom was also difficult to heat properly. Hotel under refurbishment so looked in poor condition on arrival.

The view from my room across the docks and solent was really impressive.
The hotel was having extensive renovations done when I arrived. There were no proper signs directing me to reception. A large part of the car park was shut off because of building/demolition works, which made it very difficult to park up and/or stop in Reception. I was woken to the sound of drilling, banging and building work, then as I was about to take a shower, a gantry appeared in front of my window on the 6th floor, with someone painting, so I had to close the curtains! Only one lift was working. If such extensive work is going to be undertaken, the hotel should either be closed or guests advised in advance, so they can make an informed booking choice. My room was clean, but like the hotel looked tired and dated.

L’emplacement !

Lovely room overlooking the Solent. A lot of money has obviously been spent since our last visit e.g. on the room/lifts, and the presentation is extremely pleasant. Had dinner and next day breakfast - both excellent.
The price was right at the top of what I was prepared to pay, and I wouldn’t return if it rose further.

4th floor room and view of our cruise ship, nice big room
Didn't have a bath only a shower and bathroom was very small.
Bed wasn't very comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent as always and the bed very comfy. The location was excellent.
The floor in our room needed a better clean.

You charged us twice for our room. I gave you a credit card when we checked in and we were charged on that card. When we checked out my husband gave you a different card and we were charged on that card for the room also. I have asked for a refund back to the card for the second charge but have not heard back from you yet.

The location is good for easy access to the city centre and ferry terminals.
The cost of parking per night is astronomical, £15 per night. You can park in West Quay for 24 hours, costing £6.
Breakfast was £16.95 for one person. The staff weren't friendly or organised. Some tables were piled full of dirty plates. The food was pretty average for the price.
Checking in is painfully slow compared to other hotels that have self check in or fully digital systems.

Very polite staff who were helpful
No fridge or water in the room

The staff and the room size
Felt like I was with next door as we would hear then talk and also tv on from 11:30 to 1:30am

Location to port was the advantage.
One lift was out of order and the other took ages.

good nights sleep , lovely breakfast .
check in took way to long (15 mins) to check a group of 5 guys in . No friendly greeting ,just can i help you , rude . Bar staff were friendly and helpful . Dinner in the hotel was nice but there is no ambience about the restaurant and the staff looked like they didn t want to be there .

Clean basic room with everything you need. Very comfy bed. Nice restaurant, very pleasant staff
The lift was being repaired, not much fun on the upper floors when hotel is full. I know maintenance is vital, but perhaps a bit of forward planning for extra staff to help all the cruise passengers get their luggage down would have helped.

Room was clean and tidy while the breakfast had a good range of food. We were on the 1st floor and mostly took the stairs and the stair carpet was in desperate need of a steam clean. But overall professional staff and really enjoyed the cooked breakfast.
The stairwell had stained smelly carpet and just needed a good clean and spruce up.

Close to port
They didn’t tell us one lift was out of order. It made for an exhausting wait for elevator. I was there at 9:30. I told the hotel that. I had to wait till 3 to get to room. No early check in available. Room was old & worn out.

Location for cruise port...
Evening meal and drinks - quite relaxing...
Nice to see a decent smoking area provided for those who indulge...
Good breakfast...
Residents having to pay an extra fee to park their vehicle...

Nice well laid out room
Unfortunately it had been a hot period and the room did not have air conditioning installed. It did have two electric fans which helped but it was a very uncomfortable night as the top floor room was so hot.

The holiday inn, is located next to the cruise port, so most guests are only staying the night before a cruise.
While the hotel is now in need of a refurbishment, it was clean and comfortable for a one night stay.
The staff were very friendly (nothing too much trouble) and the both meals at the hotel was reasonably priced.
There is onsite parking at £15pn and our car was fine both times we have used this hotel.
I do feel the amount we paid was expensive for the type of hotel. The holiday inn was mid price range and included breakfast. But as a side note : all hotels in Southampton are really expensive, as they know people going on cruises need a bed the night before.
Nothing.

Accommodation was comfortable and in a very convenient location.
The restaurant was pretty poor. The first four items chosen from the menu were not available.

Breakfast ok hotel very run down.

Don't be fooled by the look of the building from the outside - this hotel is modern on the inside. It's clean, comfortable, and the staff are very nice. And it has ample parking (although not free).
Room quite small, but not prohibitively so.
