Todo, el alojamiento, el entorno y sobre todo la hospitalidad y el trato con Mikel
9.0 / 10.0
Hotel is run by a young modern hospitable guy (Mikel) who cares for his guests, but also for the world, i.e. nature, the environment, the (local and world) community. They are flexible, if you have non-standard requests they help solve it quickly, and typically grant your request. O yeah, he bakes delicious cakes!
The environment is beautiful, and the exterior and interior itself made me feel home right away. Both exterior and interior are built in the very robust, strong and at the same time pretty Basque style. It is clean, tidy and well equipped, but at the same time cosy and not overly organised, "sterile", so that you still have the feeling you can toch and use thing as if you are at home. They struck the balance right for me.
I came by bicycle, cycling all the way from the nearest train station in Zumarraga (about 30km).
It is very well reachable by bicycle, the road all the way up to the hotel is very good and well-maintained you need good gears though for the last 2km given the moderate incline.

Location is excellent. The host, Mikel, hospitable, ready to help you in any moment. The house from outside look wonderful and also inside has his own old charm, especially those wooden beams above the windows.Good wi-fi.
Small repairing, renewing jobs still necessary inside the room. Thin walls...you can here very well your neighbors... Not so comfy bed and pillow (big pillow, specific basque area...)

Breakfast was nice. Views from the terrace were great. Host Mikel was extra helpful, recommending a place to eat in the town below and offering a lift back up the steep hill.

The host was very friendly, and clearly enjoyed talking to his guests and making them feel at home. He gave some tips for the local area, and even made an omelette when I arrived late in the evening around 11.
A little isolated so you must have a car / taxi.

It was a great location to start many hikes. The breakfast was simple, tasty and filling. On the last day I was able to take a freshly baked muffin with me :)

Mikel, the star that runs this place.
Thanks for keeping the place cozy, welcoming and clean always.
It is amazing to having the pleasure to stay there and even more inspiring to see someone put his 120% heart into the place.
The place could be simple in some urbaner's eyes but tell you not, it has got everything, a true treasure to switch off from the grid for a few days in absolute farm culture.
eskerrik asko!
Literally nothing, I hesitate to post the 10/10 review as I would wish this place be hidden and secluded forever.

Very nice breakfast. Spectacular location near the national park. I used the hotel as a stop on my way home to Galicia and I wanted somewhere quiet, but not far off my route. It was perfect for that. I would come back for a leisure trip.
Nothing. All good.
