Confortable, típico y tranquilo.

El hotel cumple

Ubicación excelente, a pasos de la playa y del restoran mas rico. Ducha a solo dos días salio con agua tibia, el resto frías Tom muy amoroso y preparaba desayuno.

Sehila and her cheap Hotel with good service

The owner was always willing to respond positively to my requests, the attention's Tom is very friendly, helpful. The single room and shared bathroom are very clean and spacious. A good breakfast served on the rooftop, with a beautiful view and fresh air. The hotel is not far from nice beaches and not far from the centre of the village.

The internet, as almost everywhere else in the country, does not work very well, although if you are in the common parts, you can get it much better than in the room. There is a mosque next door, so be prepared for the call to prayer at dawn.

Good value for money/ great if you’re a group taking multiple rooms

White House is great value for money and Samuel the housekeeper was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We were positively surprised by the accommodation which is in great location with a beautiful terrace. We even were welcomed with a fresh juice !

The pool is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and when we were there (May/off season) it did not look very well maintained and had construction going on all around it. We did not sleep exceptionally well without aircon and quite big pillows but it was do able.

Great location. Proximity to the beach was great. Beautiful upper terrace for relaxation on the property. Quiet and peaceful.

The broken windows in the bedroom resulted in too many mosquitos in the room, interrupting ones quality of sleep. The upper terrace was not kept clean, had water leaking from the tank and overflowing onto the floor. These are small repair works that make a great difference to the guest experience.

Room was very damp, shared bathroom did not lock so the door sat slightly ajar which wasn't ideal

INCREDIBLE PLACE TO SAY THE LEAST. TOM IS AMAZING.

Breakfast was the best part.

I would really love if there was lunch and dinner.

Lamu/Shella paradise

Location. Breakfast. Tom is super nice and friendly. The terrace.

Great host, great value for money, great location.

The location was amazing, less than a minute to the beach. There was a terrace with a table & chairs, and a couple of day beds which was so lovely to use. The beds were big & comfy. The breakfast was delicious - fruit platter, coffee, juice, eggs & toast. We were allowed to use a neighbouring pool which was so nice! Wi-Fi was good

No towels provided. Quite noisy - to be expected. Roosters & 5am call to prayer - just all part of the experience of Lamu Island!

Excellent location. A simple decent room. Bed was okay. Rooftop with day beds to rest and read before hitting the road. Fairly clean. A fan kept the room cool. The hot water worked.

No water in the rooms. Didn't like the look of the towels but had carried my own as I usually do when traveling on buget.

The welcome drink (fresh passion juice) and convenient check in was awesome. I also liked the breakfast, Hamid was accomodative and friendly, too. The place was clean and was reasonably priced. Tom also met us on time at the Shela jetty and carried our luggage, which was nice.

This is a back packer type of setting, if you are looking for fancier accommodation then this not the place to stay. Would be great if the place had better maintenance e.g. the window could'nt close and some windows were missing glass.

Very good value for money. Great location. Place was clean. Tom the manager was very responsive and helpful. He made a great breakfast every morning. I would recommend this place for a budget traveler.

Hotel needs an overall to tourist standards.

Tom, the only member of staff, was fantastic. We met the owner too, who was super friendly and helpful.

It was run down and need of maintenance - dirty light switches and walls, leaking toilet, holes in mosquito net and bed linens.

cheapest option in the area. fine for a few nights. attention to cleaning needed.

the location and room were good. I felt safe and secure. the house with its various balconies and rooftops is a beautiful place to just chill out. the fan was sufficient for the weather during my stay. the staff could be a little hard to find at times but he did his best to help me when he could.

wifi was spotty - nonexistent. bathroom and kitchen were dirty. the bathroom walls were just filthy, really. the pillows inside the cases had mold spots (it is a damp area so i understand but it was still alarming). I'd happily raise my rating if they'd just clean well.

Exceptional

Shella White House was perfect. So good customer service: I lost the room key and they handled the situation very well and I was so happy with that. I enjoyed the breakfast and views from the roof top alot.

Would be better if the hotel also used whatsapp for communication since not all tourists have local phone line.

Pleasant and relaxing.

Tom made lovely breakfast, he was helpful and easy to reach if we needed more information. He arranged for a boat to pick us up and for our return to the airport. He has lovely decorating ideas to make us feel welcome such as petals of flowers on our bed. The room was nice and comfortable. The outdoor terrace was also comfortable and clean, with two beds and a large table, for the sole usage of the customers of the room.

It would be nice to have a towel holder near the sink but this has not altered our nice feelings about the room and premises. There is nothing to criticise as such as the room and facilities exceeded our expectations..
