For our short stay it was really appreciated the small additional services Shela Bahari’s team provided: the pot with a tea just to bed :))) and late check out to fit our departure. Than you a lot!
And a view from our private balcony was really amazing!
Lamu town in 30-35 minutes of walk when beaches just in a minute

Tawfiq and Baraka were great hosts! They took care of everything and made sure we had an easy, pleasant, and enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the water and gets a nice breeze. The restaurant downstairs has good food - both local and Western options - and a large selection of gelatos. We loved having an opportunity to relax, slow down a bit, enjoy the beauty of our surroundings, and interact with the locals. Tawfiq even organized for a boat to take us to and from the airport and for a sunset dhow ride on our second night.

exceptional location with simple but very well cooked fresh fish dishes.
I like an espresso coffee, they only have French press

The location is right on the water, the common area with balcony, fridge, large table, chairs, daybeds and cushions Swahili style looks very pleasant,, the restaurant with superb view so close to the little pier, also nicely furnished in Swahili style with friendly waiters is recommendable.
The room only offered two original Swahili style beds with nothing else, the curtain of the window going to an unattractive backstreet was dirty and torn, the locks were partly demolished, the bed was horribly squeaky, no extra blanket available, the bathroom was tiny and looked dubious, the price was ridiculously high compared to other places we stayed at in Lamu. The manager was unfriendly.

Central location in Shela. Very pleasant view on the sea from our room on the 1st floor. Beautiful building and furnishings in the Swahili/Omani style. Good breakfast involving an omelette, a fruit salad, a fruit juice and some coffee.
The hotel rooms are way overpriced for how minimally equipped and little spacious they are. Despite the high cost of our room ($135 per night for a rather small double bedroom), there was no shower mat, no shower gel, no shampoo, and no bottles of water provided. The shower and the sink were not very clean upon our arrival. There was only a narrow space between the two beds placed against two facing walls. In addition, the airport pickup organized by the hotel for us was not there when we landed, the boat captain's sailing was reckless, and there were no lifejackets on the small speedboat we used to go to the hotel.

Property location is stellar. The proprietor Tawfiq is an excellent host and very approachable. The staff is superb. Rooms are comfortable and balconies are great chilling out spots. Looking forward to going back.
Maintenance could be a tad bit better, and they gladly took the feedback.

Fantastic staff, Barraka (sp?) is a fantastic host and very helpful even with other things outside the hotel (e.g reliable transport). Loved the location and centrality. 100% on food, fantastic.
Shower was slow draining and I have sensitive feet, that was a challenge.

The views were exceptional, especially at sunrise. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The communal area was beautiful with traditional decor.
Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was good, again with fantastic views.
