Breakfast very good. Decor in room a little tired.
nothing really.

The hotel and bar staff were really lovely and always helpful, happy and pleasant. The breakfast was good too so I give them both 5*
The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping lady was brilliant and very considerate.
Unfortunately the hotel looks very tired and scruffy. Our room had rotten windows and the the decor was old, outdated and shabby, cracked tiles on the bathroom floor, stained toilet, windows that you could barely open and no air con meant our room was uncomfortably hot. We had to leave the windows open at all times so heard all of the noise from the road below, which meant very little sleep. The bathroom window was plain glass and very overlooked so we had to have the blind down at all times. Ryde Castle could be wonderful but it desperately needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to todays hotel standards. It’s a shame because the staff try hard but are let down by the building and its decor.

Location was amazing, very close to both beach and town. Free parking onsite. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Prompt service at restaurant and on the reception desk. Friendly staff.

We liked our room. Nice view across the Solent to Portsmouth, sufficient space, good TV and good bathroom. The price we paid was acceptable for the room.
We ate in the restaurant in the the evening. While the food we ate was fine, as was the service, my husband's first two choices of main course (scampi or fishcakes) were unavailable, as was his first choice of wine (Italian pinot Grigio). Our main bugbear was the breakfast the following morning. We had not paid in advance for breakfast, so it cost £12 a head and was very poor value for money. We had been given to understand that it would include our choice of items from a hot buffet, plus whatever we wanted from the continental breakfast buffet. In the event, we had to choose 1 item each from a set hot menu, and the continental breakfast buffet was almost non-existent. There were no croissants or pastries - not because we were late down to breakfast (we weren't!) but because they hadn't been delivered - only brown or white toast, no muesli amongst the cereals, the only whole fruit were apples, and there was no marmalade. We had a problem with paying for our evening meal and breakfast when checking out, as the card reader could not connect to the internet. Fortunately my husband had just enough cash to cover the bill!

Friendly staff.
Yuck! Room walls were particularly filthy. Furnishings very old and need replacing. Bathroom fixtures rusty. No coffee available in the morning - coffee pot empty and no one around to refill it. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Rooms clean and comfortable, if you can go for the sea view rooms are bigger and light

Breakfast great, Staff friendly. Room was a little worn with a rotten window frame with large hole in it. However i would come back as everyone was very nice.

Bedroom was comfortable but somewhat cold
Bar was good and the food was reasonable
Breakfast was also good
Shower/bathroom was good
The bedroom was cold as the heating was turned off and due to a storm blowing through the windows not only let the wind blow through but the sills we wet as the rain got in as well

The location is very convenient and the staff is friendly.
1 min away from the harbour and the nearest bus stop.
Lots of restaurants and pubs close by.
Breakfast is good too.
Seemed slightly overpriced but it could also be because we went there for a long weekend.

Staff were wonderful !
Breakfast can be taken all the way through until midday if you sit in the bar which was very handy.
Has a lift to the first floor which was brilliant for my limited mobility
There were a couple of things not available from the breakfast menu every day but one of our stay - smoked salmon, pancakes and bagels and would have been good if someone was able to pop to the shop for these.

The staff were super helpful and we loved our sea view with Spinnaker Tower in the distance. Breakfast was good. My poached eggs were perfect.
Parking facilities excellent. Bottle of bubbly was a good price on my birthday. See you again soon.
Nothing to dislike.

great location, car parking facilities good, staff were lovely
no working lift, no heating for the full duration of my stay which was 4 nights so room absolutely freezing had to sleep in clothes. lift wasn’t marked as being out of order and when a member of staff saw my mum getting into the lift they advised best not in case she got stuck.

Being allowed to check-in early on a horrible rainy day: very friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was warm and welcoming, and the shower and bath excellent. We asked for a room at the back on a high floor rather than overlooking the harbour, and this is exactly what they gave us. Really convenient for the hoverport.
We got a very good end-of-year deal offer so really can't complain apart from stating the obvious: the building has seen better days and the room needed some tlc...bathroom lights not all working, sink not draining adequately, windows poorly sealed.
