Beautiful building and a comfortable bed.
I could hear absolutely everything in the room next door. Talking, snoring, toilet flushing.
Perhaps that is why earplugs are left in the room, which I did end up using.

Beautiful place, just a shame weather wasn't equally good!!!
Our room decor was a bit tired in places, but a repaint would sort that out. Floor tiles cold in the night so would prefer carpet in a bedroom. Window surround & secondary glazing needs a good clean. Bedside light would be useful on the second cabinet next to the window.

The bed was confortable.
Tea/coffee facilities
Hairdryer
Towel white and fresh
The garden setting
Waiting 45 min for breakfast, then some was missing or badly cooked.
The welcome was non existent, almost felt we were in the way. Kitchen closed at 8pm on a Saturday night.
No towel rail or shelf in the bathroom.
Tea tray but no milk.
Only one bedside light
Tired hallway carpet and general tiredness of the place/room.
Breakfast menu confusing( ie. Croissant there then a choice of....but if you don't specify you want the pastries they won't come.

Beautiful building and location. We really liked the bar area which was stylish yet comfortable. The food we had was a very high standard and Piers was enthusiastic and knowledgeable in his service. Lovely garden too- great when travelling with our spaniel who was made a fuss of.
Rooms and bathroom a little bit tired and welcoming could have been better.

position, staff,rooms
limited meal choice, no full sugar coke, no cream , no cheesecake desert.
In conversation with the staff they had been out of stock on several items for some time
Also it was cold in the hotel so we went to bed early

Really welcoming and pleasant staff that might have been the managers or owners, I suspect. Breakfast was exceptional as was the coffee. Rooms were comfortable a pleasant enough and the shower was superb, with good space and water flow.
Can't really think of much other than it rained hard during our stay and nobody has control over that. Common areas such as hallways look a little tired and worn but I was told some refurbishment was being planned.

The location was beautiful within some lovely Hampshire countryside. The hotel/pub was well located and nicely decked out. The room was clean and quiet.
The shower overflowed and soaked the bathroom floor which seeped into the bedroom. This was rectified really efficiently. Dinner menu was limited and portion sizes were small for cost. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. We stayed two night, two people and all of the breakfasts were wrong in some way. The first morning we weren't offered juice/water/toast etc. Scrambled eggs were massively overcooked and tasted like powdered eggs. The sourdough toast was replaced with brown toast and no explanations were offered and no one checked if everything was to our liking. The 2nd breakfast we were offered juice etc. My husband ordered a full English so he could sample local black pudding and when the breakfast came out without black pudding. My eggs benedict came on toast not muffin and had bernaize sauce instead of hollandaise. Alcohol offerings were good in the evening and the staff were fairly efficient if not a little unenthused.

We had dinner outside in the shelters which was very pleasant. The walks from the hotel are excellent. A very big reason for us to go there.
The hotel has simplified its offer a lot; perhaps too much

Lovely staff from start to finish of our stay. Food was good quailty too & very welcoming to dogs! Nice location and the room was cute and cosy.
Sadly left tired as woken up by a liverpool couple swearing & arguing in next room at 6:30am in the morning.(very disrepectful) The rooms arent sound proof you can hear guests in other room using toliet and their TVs.

Lovely quiet rural location.

Nice location good for walking my dogs early morning.
The room to put it politely was tired, the window was single glazed and not far away from falling apart, the room was basic the double plug socket below the table was exposed at the top where the wood was broken. The hallway carpets were literally thread bare. The evening meals were basic and on the second night we wished we were eating elsewhere. I do not wish to sound a real downer but I was really disappointed.
