The location and little house were great! Unfortunately we had bad weather but the house was real cosy. Everything is well thought out.
We could feel the breakfast was lovingly put together, but I felt a little bad to leave most of the breakfast products untouched... I can imagine the (I think vegan) breakfast is not everyone's cup of tea. Must say: muffins were like heaven.

Everything was warm and inviting, Lola and Laurent and the Igluhus itself! came in the winter and enjoyed our stay immensely. If you are waiting to check it I suggest you take a look at Dalvik or surrounding areas as well. Everything about this part of Iceland was charming and unique.

stunning location, great hospitality, simple but yummy breakfast and we got lucky and saw the lights! so stunning
no lights in the toilet is probably the only minor issue

Location was next to stream, very peaceful and beautiful. Hostess was very nice. Northern Lights were on our bucket list while in Iceland and this place was where we saw them for the first time

WOW! I can’t even begin to explain how much we loved this property! The best experience ever, we got to see the northern lights, we have Akureyri really near and the hosts were the best. This is a MUST!

There is beauty in simplicity and that's exactly what this igloo-style room offers. It has a comfortable bed, the room is warm and cozy and it has basic essentials like a kettle and wifi. We were very fortunate to see aurora borealis from our bed on the first night of our stay and to see the calmness of the rain pouring down on the glass windows on our second night.
The hosts are so friendly and accommodating and made us delicious breakfast both mornings.
This is a must see experience!! Book TODAY ❤
There is nothing we didn't like. One thing worth mentioning is that there's no shower facilities, however, there are more than enough thermal spa's in the surrounding area, it's not an issue at all. If you're looking for an Icelandic glamping experience, this is 100% it!!

The view/area was AMAZING! The place was so cute! It had what we needed (I camp so I was fine with the camping toilet in the little shed- it's the size of a normal toilet). It has jars of usable water over a sink (that drained into a container). It had a light, kettle, plates and cups, table and chairs, a wonderfully comfortable bed, even games! Although we didn't see northern lights that night- it was still beautiful watching the night sky while lying in bed. And she made us a lovely breakfast!
The only thing is you park at the house and walk down the driveway, and a path to get to it. We had suitcases, and it was dark- so that was it, but not a huge deal. Totally worth it!

Such a perfect dreamy stay! The weather was rainy and cold but inside was so warm and comfortable! We were greeted by Lola and given delicious breakfast in the morning. Such a lovely stay!

I loved the fact it was unique and very northern lights ready. I loved the service and welcome and the breakfast. the place was so cozy and comfy I wish I had more time to stay and enjoy the ambiance.
the only thing is I wish we knew that Tuesdays in the winter months -everything in the area is closed even tho the internet said it was open, so after a long day of travelling we had searched for an hour and a half for open restaurants and eventually went to back to akuyrei to get food which wasn’t as easy as we thought.

Great place with amazing view and location outside of town. Just make sure you understand no shower and separate outside toilet.

Very unusual but cozy lodging. Property manager was very pleasant and helpful.
No showers.

A super magical place. It couldn't have been better. We found this wooden iglúhús half an hour north of Akureyri beside of a river just reaching the sea with am amazing and inspiring view. Lovely owners are loverly hosts. The cozy hut had everything we needed, tough ideas, creative solutions. Plus a wonderful breakfast with homemade muffins and a hot dish served to this little hut.
If we'll return to this area we'll stay longer.

Lovely and unique place to stay! Despite the cold, the Igluhus stayed very warm. It was in a very scenic location and we had the best time taking day trips around the area. The owners were delightful and the homemade breakfast was delish. Esp the muffins! We didn't get to see the Northern Lights as we hoped due to cloud cover but that just means we need to come back.
Duck down when you enter the door!

The Igloo as exactly as described and pictured, cute and cozy. The owner was gracious and kind, ad cooked a lovely hot breakfast which she brought out to us.
The toilet is outside the igloo, and was difficult to use because it was so windy, it was very hard to get the door open. Overall not a huge problem, but something to bock the wind might be good :)

Definitely our most unique and memorable stay in Iceland. Super cosy, clean and comfy! Quiet, amazing views and minimal light pollution. Loverly and very welcoming hosts. We where very lucky to have clear skies and lots of aurora activity.

Lovely spot. Very remote location. Unique, simple accommodation. Very clean and well kept. Be aware that there is no running water at the facility. Great for an unusual single night stay en route around the area. If planning to stay multiple nights (especially in winter) read the details.

comfy, close to everything we intended on seeing. really nice people who gave us good space

Everything was perfect, magical experience and location. Lola was soo nice too.
Breakfast could be more generous and go to the toilette out of the iglú each time was unconfortable. But we understand is part of the experience.
4.5
It is an extraordinary place to sleep. The owners are so nice! Just a gift to wake up to those views.
4.5
The iglu is small but very cozy and nicely decorated. The bed is comfy and the many windows offer a great view of the beautiful landscape around, as well as the night sky. If you're lucky, you can watch the northern lights from the comfort of a warm bed.
The host was also very nice.
Breakfast was simple but tasty.
There is no shower and the toilet is basically an outhouse. It would be good if light was also installed in the toilet. In the meantime, bringing a headlamp is recommended.
4.5
Really really cool experience. This is one of those places where the host puts a lot of thought into the living space of the guest. Amazing views.
The not having a shower available thing actually turned out to not be that bad, there are a ton of thermal pools around Iceland, just hit those up after hiking and wash there.

I loved all the windows! Great spot! I was there in the summer and there were plenty of shads to cover the windows!
Nothing!
