The Hemlocks is a darling, cozy cottage right on wonderful, serene Lake Rescue, and imbues old-world cottage charm, is sparkling clean, and is as cute as it gets. All modern amenities, and featuring an awesome hot tub (bathrobes provided!), outside shower, kayaks/canoe, swim toys, and close to bustling Ludlow, skiing, and nearby quintessential Vermont villages, outdoor recreation, etc. Bedrooms include 2 queens and a twin bunk-bed upstairs, and a pullout sofa in den downstairs. Cuddle up by the fire, or the outside bonfire pit. This is our second home, so many games, personal amenities, kitchen basics, books, etc., provided. Just re-listed on VRBO - All 5-star reviews from previous listing!

The house is gorgeous and very comfortable! The view of the lake is amazing. This is a perfect family spot. Very safe for kids and nice and quiet at night. We are a family of gamers so we loved the outside and inside tables. I would love to come back here every year!

This property was perfect for our family to enjoy a Feb ski vacation. Great location just minutes from the mountain, parking and great views of the lake. Barb the owner, was attentive and provided useful recommendations of local attractions. The house was very well equipped for our family to enjoy time together before and after time skiing Okemo. Highly recommended.

If you want to have all the outdoor options, this is the spot! Right on the lake and minutes from Okemo, this house would be magical in either the winter or summer! It was a bit rustic but we liked that aspect and made our stay even more of a break from the daily grind. Also, the owner was so kind and accommodating!

Had a blast— perfectly located near Okemo, restaurants, grocery store etc on a beautiful lake with a hot tub to overlook it. House is adorable and cozy with comfy beds and a lovely fireplace. Got a huge dumping of snow while we were there and Barbara was communicative with us triaging snow removal and generous when we encountered some delays with it. Would love to come back here again.

We had an absolute wonderful stay at the Hemlocks! It is definitely the cutest and coziest ski house we’ve ever stayed in! We are a family of 6 and it was perfect for us. The location is truly 5 minutes from Okemo Mountain, which was awesome. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was delightful! Highly recommend for a ski getaway.

This house was perfect. Homey, charming, close to town and right in between Okemo and Killington. I want to live here forever!! Honestly, it was the best VRBO home we've stayed in. Barbara was communicative and friendly, and left clear instructions on everything about the house, hot tub, amenities and info about the surrounding area. I cannot think of one single thing that could have been improved for our stay. It was amazing. I would highly recommend and I will be back next year!

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin that overlooked the lake. The house had everything we needed for a skiing/hiking vacation. We enjoyed the quiet location - it was a quick 5 min drive to the town of Ludlow and Okemo and about 20 minutes to Killington. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace in the evenings and loved the view of the lake and mountains. The host was very welcoming and there was even a small Christmas tree and winter decorations for the holiday season. We’d definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay in Ludlow. The cottage was so cute and cozy. Loved the fireplace by the kitchen and living room. Just had such a relaxing, snowed in vibe. Kids loved the outdoor hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped and owner gave great instructions for everything. Location to Okemo was ideal. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Our family loved spending Christmas weekend at the Hemlocks. My husband said to me, "this place reminds me of the cottage in your favorite Christmas movie, The Holiday." He is right! Clean and cozy, wood burning fire, comfortable beds, antiques and books galore. Kitchen has everything you need, plenty of towels. My kids (age 4 and 5) LOVED the bunk room. The view from the hot tub was amazing. I could go on and on...just the peaceful weekend we needed.

What a nice rental! So many amenities there at the house, beautiful views and a very responsive owner. Neighbors are a little close, but it seems like if you really want to be on the lake you are going to be close to other homes. And the landscape on the property was done well and helps provide nice privacy. Will definitely consider renting this property again!

Wonderful! That is the best way to sum up this home. The quintessential family lake house I dreamed of. Every time we thought of something - anything, really - the answer was "check the book and then check the shed." My friends and I could not have asked for a better long weekend away. The Hemlocks cottage is the perfect home away from home. Absolutely adorable and every amenity you could want! First, the cottage was super clean! From the bedrooms to the common areas everything was clean and organized. The cottage was well stocked from kitchenware to linens to outdoor amenities and everything in between. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! As far as amenities...we were lucky to have a great weather weekend! We loved being able to use the grill and eat outside with a beautiful view of the lake. The hot tub was amazing, extra large and able to fit everyone very comfortably with a ton of room. Can't say enough about this perfect cottage getaway!

We had an absolutely perfect stay in Barb's home. There is obviously a lot of love and care put into maintaining the home. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace, the hot tub, the shower and the beds were also super comfy. Barb was quickly responsive to questions, and they leave detailed guides on where to find things and how to care for the home. It's a very short drive from Okemo, and situated in a picturesque setting on the lake. We look forward to returning and recommending to our friends! Thanks for a memorable week!

This house was absolutely perfect, from the hot tub to the bedrooms to the fireplace. The house had everything you needed and some. We enjoyed a great day of ice fishing which we did catch some nice yellow perch. We also enjoyed a beautiful day at Magic Mountain, skiing. Very few people at the mountain, it was great and the conditions couldn’t have been better... After a long day of skiing we couldn’t wait to get back to the house to jump into the hot tub. Barbara, you have a wonderful spot there, we will definitely be back again soon. Thank you again for everything.

Barb's spot is cozy, well-appointed, and in a beautiful area on Lake Rescue. We enjoyed our stay immensely! The road it's on was a little steep for our 2-wheel drive sedan in the slippery snow, so would plan ahead if you're going in the winter.

Spent the weekend at Lake rescue in this awesome rental house. House was very clean and had all of the necessary cooking equipment and bedding to make it comfortable and Welcoming. The hot tub and fireplace were the most attractive elements about this rental property and made the weekend very enjoyable even though we had poor weather. My three girlfriends and I spent two nights in Barbara’s beautiful cottage on the lake. Her home was perfectly appointed, with all necessary amenities. The kitchen was nicely stocked with essentials and then some. We really enjoyed the beautiful deck with a very large hot tub, that overlooked the lake and mountains. We enjoyed having use of the fireplace, which helped heat the home and provided the cozy ambiance we were hoping for! We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Barbara’s home and look forward to visiting again soon!

We loved our weekend at The Hemlocks! The kitchen was well stocked, bathrooms were clean. There were PLENTY of towels. There were houses right next door on either side but it felt extremely private when we were out enjoying the view of the lake, the firepit or the hot tub. There weren’t a lot of take-out food options available/open (Covid, probably) but there is a Shaw’s nearby that allowed us to get what we needed. It is just a lovely place that we’d definitely return to.

Such a fantastic stay. We were looking for a lakefront property where our young kids could roll out the door and play in and out of the water all day. The Hemlocks exceeded our already high expectations. We barely left the property at all during the week. All the amenities were available to enjoy the lake all day. A great yard and beautiful hot tub to use after a long day. The house itself was perfect in every way and well appointed with everything you would need. Barb was a very gracious, available host. We look forward to our next stay at The Hemlocks.
