THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
We are located in New Plymouth. We are close to Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Lake Hope, Zaleski State Forest and many other attractions. There are places to zip line, ride ATV’s, ride horses, shop, dine or have a drink. You can look for adventure in the Hocking Hills or just relax and enjoy the slow pace and solitude. With no city lights nearby, you will love the abundance of stars on a clear night. Athens is 23 miles away if you want a bunch of good dining and entertainment options. But local places like the Inn at Cedar Falls, the lodge at Lake Hope (Sunday brunch is outstanding) or Mama Renie’s in McArthur are also great places to eat.
GETTING AROUND:
Although you’ll have a hidden paradise to yourself, you can quickly access some of the best hikes in Hocking Hills State Park to see caves, waterfalls and creeks:
Ash Cave: 10 mins
Cedar Falls: 14 mins
Old Man’s Cave: 18 mins
Whispering Cave: 18 mins
Lake Hope: 19 mins
Rose Lake: 21 mins
Conkle’s Hollow: 22 mins
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
You will probably want to bring bottled water with you if well water is not to your taste. Also, cell service is poor in the hills, which may be a feature for you. But if you need to make calls you can call your provider ahead of time to set up free WiFi calling. This way you can make your call through the WiFi connection instead of the tower. The cabin is cooled by window a/c units.
***Minimum Age 25: All reservations must be booked by and accompanied by an adult who is 25 years of age or older. Valid photo I.D. will be required at the time of booking.

Nice location, very clean. Close to hocking hills hikes. Remote location so very quiet, limited cell service.

What a gorgeous house. It was so peaceful but outfitted with everything one could wish for. Would definitely book again!

Our 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids, 1 dog) had an amazing stay!! We've been vacationing together for 10 years and this was one of our favorite spots so far. Secluded, peaceful, and roomy! We loved exploring the trails on the property!

Very nice place. = As advertised.

The cabin was beautiful and very clean! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. (Wish the grill was a bit bigger) Beds were very comfortable! Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and game room. Enjoyed the front porch and nice open area for the dogs to run around. Would definitely stay here again!

Property is exactly as listed. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions and offer suggestions. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and the hiking nearby. It was very humid and a bit buggy when we visited so we didn't explore the property much. We did cook and grill during our visit and the kitchen is well stocked and everything works as expected. The house has plenty of room to spread out and we enjoyed our long weekend!

Very quiet and peaceful. Parking was a bit tight but otherwise a very nice experience.

Beautiful property! The cabin was decorated beautifully, rooms were perfect size for our family. Lots of room to spread out. Large main living room area. Downstairs was great, the game room was spot on and the hot tub was great! Absolutely immaculate condition! The cabin was spotless. 15 minutes to all the Hocking Hills attractions and 15 minutes to the dining and shopping areas we visited. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be renting this cabin again.

We loved the cabin and location. We did forget our dog blanket, feel to keep for the cabin!

Beautiful place, convenient to hiking trails. Comfortable and spacious. Would definitely rent again?

We came down to hike for the kids Spring Break and my wife’s 40th birthday. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. We had some rain on the last day and didn’t make it out to the trails. Fortunately this property has a ton of trails for you to explore when you’re just trying to get out while you can in between rain showers. I give it an A+ and would love to visit again. Thanks!

Beautiful property with easy ability to hike on the property as well as numerous Hocking Hills options. Responsive host. Brought our dog and had 4 children from 6 years to 9 months. Worked well with the floor plan. Definitely recommend.

We stayed here three nights the week of Dec 18. Perfect NON-busy time to hike the trails. The property is fantastic. It was a but muddy because of the weather so we didn't get to explore it as much as we wanted (because we didn't want to bathe the dog) but we could see a lot of great trails on site.
Cabin is really close & an easy drive to Hocking Hills St Park but it also feels secluded in a nice way. Like others have said, wifi is satellite so its a bit slow but you can still use your apps, but streaming will buffer. So download stuff in advance (esp for little kids). Just make sure you google map everything before you leave because unless youre in McArthur or Logan the signal is very weak, even in the park and you can't google map.
The cabin itself is way more grand and lovely than it photographs. We all went "whoa" when we entered. The christmas decor was a lovely touch and everything was clean and smelled lovely. We loved the ping pong and the pool table. We chose to eat all our meals at the cabin and didn't have any issues making or serving food. (It's only table salt and pepper there so if you prefer to cook, bring seasoning and cooking oil, else you can make do with what they have. I made a frittata, they even had cheese knives for my charcuterie board. The owners are nice enough to leave little envelopes filled with nearby restaurants and things to do and were helpful and responsive. Would definitely go back. Loved our getaway. Our dog was crazy happy.

My sister-in-law, 4 nieces, and I stayed here for the first of what I hope will be many girls' trips. This cabin set the bar high. The cabin was beautiful. It was very clean, comfortable, stocked with all the necessities, and had endless entertainment options. We spent most of our time enjoying the cabin and the property. Will definitely stay again!

This was our second time staying at Serenity Lodge and we're already looking forward to our third visit. The cabin is loaded with comforts and conveniences, while providing absolute peace, quiet and privacy. There are plenty of activites and adventures just a short drive away, but in reality, we didn't need to leave the property to enjoy hiking and taking in views of various forms of wildlife. The hot tub, pool table and ping pong table provided fun during the rain we experienced and the satelite TV service allowed us enjoy movies and football games without interruption. Even the Wifi was sufficient to enable us to have connectivity when we needed it. This was quite a luxury in such a remote setting. And finally, working with Dana has always been amazingly positive. Her kindness, care and responsivness helps make staying at Serenity Lodge as memorable as possible.

Emaculate cabin tucked away on a beautiful property! This cabin has lots of rustic character! We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. Everyone enjoyed all of the property amenities, especially the hot tub, fire pit, and pool table! There’s lots of outdoor space and furniture to relax on and enjoy the scenery. Having 3 bathrooms stocked with plenty of towels was so convenient. Dana is an excellent host and responded quickly to our messages. Do yourself and your family a favor and book this exceptional get away retreat!

Dana’s cabin was a perfect fit for our group. We were a group of friends from across the world getting together to play games, relax, and keep things low-key. There was plenty of space for us to spread out, plenty of beds for all of us to sleep comfortably, and the amenities allowed us to pack light.

My family and I had a great time at the cabin. We wished we could of stayed 3 more days! We had lots of fun with the pool table and ping pong! The cabin was so beautiful and had most everything we needed! Thanks so much!

I appreciate cleanliness and lack of clutter when it comes to booking a stay for our family. This cabin provided that, and I was very pleased. I chose this location because seclusion was important since we really just needed to getaway and be unplugged from the busyness of life. We chilled a lot, enjoyed home cooked meals, played lots of ping pong and pool, and in this heat, we still enjoyed the hot tub a couple nights, and ate S’mores by the fire pit one night. My husband especially appreciated the beautifully constructed woodwork, architecture and taxidermy, being a hunter and former carpenter. Dana provides many accommodations to help keep you prepared for your family’s stay, from a fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, utensils, dishwashing soap, dishwasher soap, some napkins and paper towel), to bathrooms stocked with clean towels, washcloths, toilet paper, shampoo and body soap, hand soap, and even a First Aid kit! Even though the weather was hot and muggy, between the fans and window units, the cabin remained a very comfortable temperature. It was nice having the washer and dryer to wash some clothes. Dana is a terrific host and super easy to communicate with and even though she does not live close, she has a local helper who is able to help during your stay. I would highly recommend this cabin for your family or a group of adult friends. You can relax at the cabin, and/or explore Hocking Hills to the fullest. Even with bad weather, you can have a fun, relaxing time.

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay at this beautiful cabin. Our kids enjoyed hiking and playing around the property, playing pool and table tennis, and roasting marshmallows by the firepit. We all really appreciated the relaxing hot tub after a full day of activities in Hocking Hills. Dana was super easy to communicate with and made our check-in process simple. You can tell this cabin was built with a lot of love and attention to details. It truly was a pleasure to stay for several days, and we would absolutely rent this cabin again! Thank you, Dana for helping provide our family with wonderful memories!

This property is absolutely beautiful and located in a peaceful wooded area. It had everything we needed (even coffee and a hottub!) and it was very close to everything we wanted to see in the hocking hills area. Check in was easy and everything was how it was advertised. Perfect for friends who enjoy luxury, as well as for families with kids who need to be entertained (fantastic game room with pool and ping pong tables, and video games). Just a perfect setup in a beautiful area.

Perfect vacation - 5 nights was not enough time to do everything. Best cabin we have visited. Our hikers went to Hocking 3 days. Non-hikers walked the beautiful property. At the cabin, we relaxed watching tv, playing games, soaking in the hot tub, rocking on the porch, playing pingpong, shooting pool, eating, reading....also had a campfire and made s'mores. Our dog was so happy to be allowed to wander ourside without a leash. It was a great week!! Thank you Dana!

Our family had the best time this week! The cabin was even more than advertised. It was extremely clean, tidy, and organized. There was so much to do at the cabin that we almost didn’t want to leave and explore the area…. We had such a fun time playing pool and ping pong, relaxing in the hot tub, grilling, and sitting around the fire pit at night. The rocking chairs on the porch were great to sit on and drink coffee. We enjoyed hearing all the birds in the woods and even a rooster in the morning (far enough away that it wasn’t distracting!). We will definitely be back again!!

The cabin was nice, clean and conveniently located. The property was private and enjoyed the additional acreage to explore.

The property was very well kept. We were looking for a fun weekend with friends and we had just that! Great pizza on the way to cabin at Pizza Crossing! Fun nights of pool, ping pong, fire pit, hot tub, and listening to music. Went hiking at Ash Cave and on the property. Dana answered all our questions immediately! Overall impression...great!

Second time we have stayed here and it's the best. Great place for a group of any age. Dana is an A + owner. Power went out when someone hit a pole and Dana reached out right away to be sure we were taken care of.
Thank you for another great memory.

This was our fourth trip to Hocking Hills and first at this property. There was a 2 year old, two 5 year olds, a dog and 6 adults. We chose because of the surrounding hiking , rooms and amenities described and because it was dog friendly. Our grandchildren are young and we were able to hike on the property which was perfect! Loved the porch and ease of accessing from the main living area.
Dana was very responsive and helpful throughout the process.
Would absolutely recommend!

This is the 2nd year we have used this property. Its so relaxing and gorgeous at this home. We love the property which is great for a nice walk. The jacuzzi is big enough for all of us and the layout with the ping pong and pool table is always so fun. We will be coming back again soon!!

We just wanted to get away for a quick get away that wasn’t too far away. The cabin had things for my teenage boys to do. Wifi was a blessing and if you have kids you understand. They loved ping pong and the pool table. The hot tub was nice on a chilly morning. cabin was clean and just what we needed to get away and relax.

We celebrated my daughters birthday, and the place was awesome. Very spacious, had seasonal decorations indoors and outdoors and was very well equipped. We would stay there again, and hopefully will!

We spent the week of October 23 at Serenity Lodge in New Plymouth in the Hocking Hills region and our decison to do so was absolutely the right choice. The Lodge was everything the descriptions and photos displayed and much, much more. The spaciousness, the furnishings, the decor, the amenities and the comfort of the lodge were top notch and the remote location provided a level of privacy, peace and quiet that we've not experienced in our past trips to the Hocking Hills. The bonus of being able to bring our dog on the trip was much appreciated as he loved running in the vast open grounds on the property. Also, despite the remoteness, the WiFi and satellite TV worked very well and with enabling WiFi calling on our cell phones we were able to stay in contact with our familes. The outside area of the lodge was just as impressive as the inside as we enjoyed the bursting colors of the fall foliage, the multiple trails, the convenient fire ring and charcoal grill and of course the hot tub. Arriving and accessing the lodge was easy and working with Dana was a joy as she was quick to respond to any questions and also provided some great recommendations. One final note is the accuracy of the name of the lodge.... "Serenity." The entire time we were there the only sounds we heard were the leaves falling, the breeze blowing and the wildlife scurrying about. We'll definitely be back!

Our family (kids ages 8-17) enjoyed our stay. We were very comfortable in the property and took advantage of the hot tub, pool table, and fire pit. We walked around the property as well. The location was private and quiet, which made it even easier to relax while staying there.
