About this apartment rental
*Review ENTIRE listing before booking / enquiring * PLEASE read this listing thoroughly and check the photos to make sure this property is OK for you. We will assume that you understand all of the available amenities before you book, - we don't want you to be surprised or inconvenienced by something that you didn't realise wasn't supplied.
The Property
This is a self contained ground floor flat set in a Grade 2 listed historic house in Hythe. Although it is on the ground floor the flat has several, single step, internal changes in level which means it is not suited to wheelchair users. Externally there is level access and a small courtyard to the rear. There are two parking spaces associated with this property. This is a smoke free property - smoking is not allowed in the flat
The Location
Located in a quiet cul-de-sac 10 minutes from Junction 11 of the M20, 8 minute drive to Eurotunnel & 20 minutes to Dover Port. The flat is a short walk to the town centre which has local shops, pubs and restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the beach.
The Space
The property has a modern, well equipped fitted kitchen with electric hob & oven, a washing machine and dishwasher. The bathroom has a shower but no bath.
The master bedroom has a double bed, the 2nd bedroom a single bed and there is a big double sofa bed in the large living room. Fully configured the flat can sleep five - this is our maximum guest number regardless of age, please do not ask if you can book for more. This is because the flat simply cannot accommodate any more. If there are five adults then the accommodation may feel a bit cramped.
Families and couples preferred but there is no childproofing or extra safety features for smaller children.
Amenities - DAB Radio, Freesat TV , WiFi, hairdryer, Iron / ironing board. Bedding and one towel per guest.
Our Expectations
We expect our guest to respect our property and help us keep it in the good order that we maintain it. Please do not smoke in the property. It is in a quiet residential area so neighbourliness, especially regarding noise, is important. (No parties - sorry!)
Contacting Us During Your Stay
We live next door and are regularly available - if we are away we are on the phone and there is always someone close by who can resolve a problem.
Our Town
The historic town of Hythe has plenty to offer. One of the original Cinque Ports it has a longstanding association with the military and was for many years the home of the army's School of Musketry, although that has now gone (and been replaced by a large supermarket) the ranges are still in regular use. The house in which the flat is situated was built in 1820 to accommodate officers.
The town centre is a short flat walk away where you can enjoy a shopping in the unique, independent shops that line the high street. There is a wide range of pubs, coffee shops an restaurants for all tastes and pockets - all within walking distance of the flat.
Overlooking the town is the ancient St Leonards Church which dates back to the 10th Century and is unique in having a skull-packed ossuary in the crypt. (with some notice we can often arrange access).
Central to the town (and less than a minute from the property) is the Napoleonic-era Royal Military Canal, with cycle and walking routes. Built as a defence it is now a Scheduled Ancient monument - during the summer season, you can hire a rowing boat or enjoy a leisurely trip on an electric cruiser.
Just a five minute walk is the Hythe Terminus of the world famous Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway; built in 1927 and known as “Kent’s Mainline in Miniature” it runs a regular year-round service along the 13½ miles of track from Hythe, terminating in Dungeness; a National Nature Reserve. Trains are usually hauled by steam powered engines.
The beach is a flat 10 minute walk from the property with stunning views of the English Channel to enjoy while strolling the Victorian promenade.
Available outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kite surfing swimming and golf. The town boasts a beautiful long beachfront that is perfect for a seaside walk, picnic or flying kites.
A short drive away is the popular Port Lympne Animal Reserve with its stunning scenery and endangered animals.

We were travelling through the southern part of England to visit family and discovered this wonderful property in Hythe. It was close to where we wanted to visit and very comfortable. We loved the musically themed decor! Any questions we had were quickly answered by Steven. We enjoyed our walks around the village as well as our walks to the beach. We highly recommend this property!

Hyhthe was our choice of location as it was close to family, very central and convenient. Short walk to the shops, the high street and all they offer. Easy drive to nearby towns and attractions. We were there for a week, so a great base for trips further afield to other Kent locations. Accommodation was so comfortable. We self catered for all evening meals and breakfasts and the kitchen facilities were excellent. A minor negative was that the shower was weak and difficult regulate. The musical theme and decor was fun adding extra appeal. Highly recommended.

the appartement itself is quite nice. Communication with the owners is very good and they are quite helpful. It is perfect for 3 people, 4 still OK but with 5 people it gets quite cramped. Furthermore the table only suits for 4 people.
Especially the kitchen could be more tidy. Dishes have been partly dirty and the working place and cabinet doors have also been not perfect.
Appart of this (what could be solved easily) the house is very nice decorated, the location is as described and it suits perfect for a coulple of relaxing days in Hythe.

Great place to stay ideal location for all amenities
Property was very clean and tidy, had a quirky touch with all the musical instruments. The oven/microwave was a bit difficult to operate at first, once working was fine.

Nice
Very clean throughout and comfy beds. Quiet location off main road. Very handy for local supermarket on opposite side of lovely canal. Had minor issue trying to turn on induction hob but help was at close hand and afterwards had no further trouble

Lovely apartment in great location
Everything about this holiday let exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was spacious, very comfortable, clean, in a great location, with everything we needed and more. We loved the quirkiness of the posters and art work on the walls, out of commission musical instruments displayed and little touches that made it feel like home from home.

Lovely but hot !!
We visited in the really hot weather towards the start of August. After a couple of days the owner made contact with us and offered to provide two fans without us asking for these. Owner was very thoughtful and the property is kitted out to a high standard. Would recommend to anyone ! Close to High St / beach and supermartket.

Wonderful stay in Hythe
The location of this flat is second to none. What an amazing find. Uniquely decorated and very quirky. Even with the high street being short walk away, it’s still tucked away in quiet spot near the canal which was lovely to stroll down. The beach is a short walk away, and even at this time of year there is a nice spot to sit and watch the waves with a hot chocolate. Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a unique property in Hythe :)
