Friendly, welcoming hosts, very comfortable stay, great location with fabulous views.

Superb balcony with amazing view. Host very friendly.
Very steep approach to property & difficult access to driveway. Shocked to find we were sharing a kitchen & dining room with other guests...not mentioned in accommodation description. Bedroom small with small firm bed & uncomfortable pillows.

The excellent location overlooking Lyttleton harbour and working port. Frank was very welcoming and an excellent host. He supplied us with home grown tomatoes from his green house and advised us on what to see locally. You can see the Time Ball Tower from the terraces. Own access to bedroom from the outside large terraces, and as we were the only couple staying we had access to the whole of the ground floor area including kitchen, tv room and laundry room. The towels were changed on a daily basis. The owners of the B&B built the property from scratch and have paid a lot of attention to detail, very homely.
The bed was a little firm and small compared to what we are personally used to.

Jen is a wonderful host, with a beautiful, lovingly and very individually decorated house. So many special details! The bed is so comfy, the view and the terrace are spectacular and there was even some breakfast (milk, fruits, cereals, tea, coffee) in the kitchen. The location: great. It is perfect. Thank you Jen!!
Everything great!!

The scenery is breathtaking, the room was fantastic and very clean, I will definitely tell my friends to stay there
If I had to pick a negative, the driveway was a little bit difficult, but that is very minor

Frank and Jenny were friendly and helpful.
The views and activities at the port made the visit interesting.

this entire experience was so wonderful. we were a weary group of travelers and we needed great food, laundry facilities and comfort. What we got were incredibly thoughtful hosts, a ride to dinner to an amazing restaurant, spectacular views and outstanding amenities.
Frank and Jennie are so thoughtful and this lodge with the beautiful views, garden and special touches in the kitchen like fruit and cereal and milk just made our stay spectacular.

Very friendly, obliging host. Great harbour views and spacious unit
Meager, stale breakfast supplies. Poor access with very narrow driveway off a steep street corner. Not easy for even a small car much less the large one we were obliged to rent. Old fashioned decor.

Wow! Staying at Harbour Lodge was an awesome experience. Frank and Jenny are amazing hosts and their home is beautifully presented with an exceptional eye to detail. The view down to the working port has to be seen to be believed. Enough superlatives - just go discover this gem 💎

Just the best spot to watch all the activity in the port! Ships being loaded and unloaded, plus of course Christopher the seagull visiting each day. Super comfy bed, lots of nice touches in the room and kitchen. Was a home from home.
Was all lovely. The only thing I wasn't sure was how to get in / where to go when I first arrived. Bit of signage would sort that easily

Wonderful accommodation, was a home away from home. Very well equiped, had everything you could ever need. The extra touches were much appreciated, large bowl of fruit, chocolates and biscuits. Lovely hosts who made us feel very welcome. We will most definitely recommend and we wil return.

Breakfast is not provided but tea coffee milk etc is and lovely fresh fruit was available as well as cereals and biscuits to go with a cuppa.
I think it would be hard to improve on anything.

The people, Jenny and Frank, went the extra mile, did all the little things that really made the accommodation so much better. The view. The facilities. The barbecue. The service.
We didn't like leaving, but it was fantastic and we will be back!

The helpfulness of Frank and Jenny who went out of their way to do anything for you. Wonderful facilities decor and views.
A bit difficult to navigate steep streets if you are not used to them

The common use kitchen was really well equipped with breakfast supplies, fresh fruit, biscuits, and chocolate treats in the fridge. Off road parking was good, and there was storage available for our electric bikes if we wanted it. Our host was warm and friendly on arrival. Amazing sea views, and a lovely sheltered outdoor area complete with bbq.
