Amazing hospitality, free lifts to places & friendly staff
4.3
Convenient location near station
Large rooms
Persistant smell of old cooking throughout building of like cheap car fat and pork
Random posters of Japan’s most wanted criminals in different places. Not exactly what you want to be greeted with as you go for a relaxing bath.
Some of the worst service I’ve experienced in Japan. Staff speak some Japanese but not fluent. Some quite rude

Staff was friendly, food was home cooked, they picked us up from our previous hotel and then took us to the monkey park for free.
Our room was not clean in the simplest areas. The tea set was dirty. Mugs were dirty. Bath tub was so dirty. All of the soap dispensers were empty.

Location, decent breakfast and they drive you to Snow Monkey Park

Le personnel (la famille) était clairement la meilleure partie du séjour.
Le charme d’une chambre japonaise typique a aussi participé à cette expérience exceptionnelle

Most comfortable beds, spacious rooms, delicious breakfast. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Really clean and cosy, great location.
Nothing - we had a great stay here, highly recommend

The owners were wonderful and friendly

Excellent traditional room, onsen was great, friendly staff and convenient location close to station, konbini and restaurants.

After check in we pretty much had free reign, it was easy to find areas, bathroom, bath, eating areas, everything was extra clean. We even got yukatas to wear and slippers while we were there. The rooms were exceptionally stocked with amenities. We got plenty of food for dinner and breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety. The views were pretty nice from the dining area too. We had plenty of blankets so we were warm, and there was a heater too. Staff was also very nice, hospitable, and informative. The area is beautiful and there’s lots of sight seeing areas around too.
Due to the heavy snow we couldn’t play table tennis because it was in a different building but its okay because we just hung out and played games in our rooms. I also thought there was a open air bath? But honestly that could have been my mistake in checking. We did book this place last minute after all, so we were happy with what we got.

The staff! They were so friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, the location great

The property owners were extremely nice and friendly. Offered a drive to the snow monkey park. The room space was traditional and absolutely huge.
There was a wierd smell in the toilet, maybe due to plumbing issues, but everything works fine.
4.3
Very friendly staff. Close to train station and a few local restaurants.
Breakfast buffet had one-star offerings; variety and quality improvements needed.

Staff is very friendly and hospitable. They will do their best to make your stay comfortable. They offerred a free ride to monkey park. They speak very little English, but that was not an issue. Onsen is available all the time. It was nice to take a bath after a long day.
Food was not to my taste as it is chinese not japanese, but there are plenty of options in Yudanaka.
4.3
The location was excellent. The hosts were terrific and very helpful.
4.3
The location is great - less than 2 minutes from Yudanaka station. The hosts were kind and gave us a lift to and from the monkey park and were flexible in setting up a time. The breakfast was great.
In general, the hotel is a little dated. The womens' onsen was quite small. The pillows were not comfortable at all and a few of us had poor sleeps.
4.3
So charming! The owner was very nice, and the room was great. They have a small in-house onsen you can use, and a massage chair my kids loved... :)
Loved the atmosphere of this place, rural and friendly.

The hospitality here was amazing. The owners were really kind and generous. The room was spacious and comfortable. The Osen downstairs is accessible 24hrs and tattoo friendly. It's a very short walk from the train station.

Kindness out of this world! I worked and travelled for over 20 years and this was my and my wife's favorite place. The family that owns this place helped us when we had a accident and before that gave us free rides in the car. I tried three times to give them extra money for all the extra care they gave us with no success. Also borrowed snowboard gear that was great. Recommend going to this place if you're in the proximity. Beautiful view and beautiful people

Staff and room.
Lobby needs to be more attractive.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, really appreciated them
Facilities are a little dated but okay. No major problems, pictures are accurate

Lovely hotel. Room is very big with an amazing view of the city and mountains. The room has a traditional ryokan look with tatami floors and futon, the bathroom has a nice little bathub. The onsen is nice and clean.
The staff, even though they couldn't speak english, made the effort to communicate with translator, and were very friendly and helpful, and in the end even gave me a lovely gift.
Everything was perfect

3 minutes walk from Yudanaka Station, brightly lit street leading to the hotel so it is very accessible even at night! Friendly staff and cosy stay! Very spacious room with amazing facilities! Just as advertised in the pictures 👍
4.3
Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, location was beautiful, delicious breakfast. Room itself was traditional and charming.
The bathroom attached to our room had such a horrible smell that we avoided it and had to keep the door closed in order to prevent the smell leaking into the sleeping area. The trash can in the bathroom had not been changed since the guest before us.
4.3
Gorgeous traditional Japanese room with an amazing view of the mountains. Comfy futon, nice onsen and friendly staff, and yukata provided to wear. Very close to yudanaka station, bus stop for the onsen monkeys, and great restaurants.
the onsen was quite small, but still very appreciated after a long day and good for the price :)
4.3
The hotel is just 3 minutes on foot from Yudanaka JR station. Very convenient for visiting the Snow Monkey Park by bus which stops right in front of the station. The small spa village is reminiscent of the Showa era.
4.3
The staff was very friendly. Location was great for the monkey park and the mountains. Great price for someone looking for a traditional Japanese hotel experience
4.3
Think I was the only guest so sort of in dead mode. The rain was noisy on my ceiling so worried about leaks (but there were no leaks). Could not figure out how to get hot water out of showers in big bath.
4.3
Clean and spacious. Host was welcoming and when we mentioned that we are heading off to Ski resort subsequently, gave us a coupon booklet that save us quite abit of money the next few days. The common bath with onsen water was clean and we had a relaxing soak at the end of the day. Free parking available just beside the building.
4.3
Staff was helpful and nice.
The picture of the onsen in website Vs originally was different. The onsen present at the hotel was extremely small but in pictures it looks like its different onsen and way bigger.. The actual onsen pics should have been posted by the owner rather than false pictures which was misleading.
