Property owner very nice, had a great time walking down town and at the beach finding petoskey stones!!

We used this home as a base camp for exploring Michigan's NW lower peninsula. The owner was very helpful in providing information about the Petoskey area and the home met all our needs. We especially love the beautiful polished Petoskey stones Al gifted us. We really enjoyed our stay.

The house was very clean and had a very nice cottage feel to it. It is a great location amd close to downtown Petoskey. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice cozy place to stay. Ill remember this place for any future plans of visiting Petoskey.

We had a great time. It is a great location to everything we wanted to do.

Great place to stay if you want to be close to downtown Petoskey. Lots of beds and super easy to come and go. Internet was a bit spotty but otherwise we were pleased. Great spot for the cost.

The place has a lot of room. Great for a larger group! We met Al, the owner and he showed us around the place. It's simple and all what we needed for a family! Downtown is pretty close. We rode bikes and explored the marina and downtown.Al was kind to leave some Petoskey stones for us as a souvenir ❤️ which we thought was a very kind gesture 🙌 We would definitely come back! Thanks, Al!

The home was very clean. Just did not expect to have an office in the front of the home. It had plenty of room for us and very clean. Loved the rocks gifted to us!

Our family of five stayed for a ski weekend. It was the perfect place for our stay. Close to both ski hills we visited. We love the city of Petoskey, but don’t have time to visit. The host was amazing about letting us check in early and our kids loved the Petoskey stone keepsakes of the trip. The layout of the home was unique, but it added to its charm. The checkout procedures were minimal and the kitchen was well stocked. We are truly looking forward to staying again next year. Thanks!!

We were a party of two adults and 4 teenagers and had a great time at Al’s place. Easy 10 minute walk to town and 15 minute drive to Boyne Highlands/Nubs Nob. The rental is the back half of a house in a residential neighborhood, but it has the feel of a small cottage, unpretentious and homey but well cared for. A small open kitchen and living room are surrounded by 4 bedrooms, and using the only full bath requires going through one of those bedrooms (a half bath is just off the kitchen). Al was easy to work with, and kindly left us polished Petoskey stones to take home. His place was copy and comfortable, conveniently located, and helped to make a great trip for our group.

This property was close to our son’s home where we were all gathering for the holiday. There were 5 adults and the 4 rooms worked great. We didn’t spend a lot of time there but it had everything we needed

Al is a very nice host -- very gracious and generous. Made sure we were comfortable. Home offers comfortable accomodations for a family with pets and a location close to town. It is a bit rustic, but has an up north feel.

Our family had a relaxful vacation in Petoskey. This house is just a short walk away from downtown. Neighborhood is very safe and very quiet at nights. Home is nicely equipped with everything that you need and furnishings are all comfortable. Owner will leave very nice polished Petoskey stones for the tenants. Also, he played guitar for one of our wood burning bonfires on the deck. Owner is very approachable, sincere and friendly. A bonus for cat lovers is that there are several very friendly outdoorsy cats in the neighborhood that will greet you from time to time.

Very functional place, there’s plenty of sleeping space and the kitchen has what you will need. Well stocked with paper products (we don’t always have luck with that 🙀)
Close enough to town and the pier if you don’t mind walking a bit, just don’t forget it’s uphill coming back!!
The outside was a bit rough, but the inside was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The house worked well for us for a family wedding. Centrally located. Nice and warm!

Al was super accommodating and genuinely caring in asking how our stay was. Top things for us was Close to Downtown, Cozy space and 1/2 the cost of Hotel Rooms. Petoskey Stones for group was a nice touch. Will return with group.

Al the owner is a good man with a great place for friends, family or both to stay. If I should ever be in the area again I would gladly stay

The outside of the property is very cluttered and shabby. The inside is very clean, cute, and well-supplied, though a bit "shabby-chic" - things duct-tape and wired together, kitchen utensils heaped up in a drawer. Most of the windows didn't have screens so we had to keep the A/C on which, for a summer vacation in northwest Michigan, was not pleasant for us. The deck was adequate - chairs, grill, etc, but weeds were grown up around it. The side-entrance didn't have a path to it, and the backyard had poison ivy. We left after two nights and asked for a partial refund but were only given 200.00 of the 3500 we had paid. Otherwise, Al was very kind and accomodating,

First impression was the yard and deck. Both were poorly kept. Items in the house were held in place with wire and duct tape. Some kitchen items were not clean. Petosky stones from owner for guests was a nice touch.

Perfect, relaxed place for a home base for a skiing weekend.

Wonderful vacation getaway
We had a fabulous four day vacation at Al's clean, spacious, and well equipped rental. Great location close to downtown Petoskey, we enjoyed walking to town everyday including the local Farmers Market! Lots of room in the house with all the amenities you need; full washer/dryer, dish washer, and outdoor grill/fire pit. Al was a lovely host, he sent us home with beautiful Petiskey stones and also played his guitar for us.

This is a pretty quirky guest house. There are a few odd features - you have to walk through a bedroom to get to the main bath - but overall it's very good. The kitchen is small but usable, and reasonably stocked with dishes & utensils. All the appliances were in working order. The owner is very pleasant and lives on site. He was very welcoming to us and our dog!

-Advertised as new construction. Not new construction.
-Owner and son stay in the house.
-Door locks seemed backwards or insufficient. The Owner can lock out the renter, but the renter cannot lock out the owner. This is creepy with kids.
-Roof leaked in multiple places on 2nd night. We decided it was better to leave than continue the rental. Requested refund for the night and the owner refused. Asked VRBO to assist, they didn't help.
Left after 2 nights of a 3 night trip.

Good location; but needs online clarity
The location and owner were great, but the home only has one shower, which you have to access through someone's bedroom, and there were not enough pans to cook with in the kitchen.

Spacious home in a great location
We visit Petoskey yearly and found this spacious gem which is within walking distance to downtown. Al was great and helpful. Highly recommend this place

Fun Stay!
Big clean space. Slept a lot more people than we thought, we only had 3, it slept at least double that! Close to downtown. We brought our dog, and he made friends with the neighbor dogs and loved the room to roam inside. Al, was a great host. Thanks for the Petosky stones!

Close to town, free Petoskey Stones!
We loved this spot on the top of the hill, it’s just a short walk into town from his place! Al was very kind and left Petoskey stones for all of us, we enjoyed the town and proximity to several local beaches.

Renovated and sunlit cabin style retreat, backend addition to owners home in amazing location
You couldn't ask for a better location. Close to town and all amenities. Brightly lit, open kitchen to living area concept and there was a cabin-like vibe. You can either enter in from one side of the house into the kitchen or via the deck through the laundry room and one of the four bedrooms. Nice driveway and deck with a great yard for our little dog. There is a huge main bathroom with shower attached to the master bedroom and another common area bathroom off the kitchen. Large fireplace in living area. The apps on the smart tv didn't work so well, (wouldnt load up) so I would recommend a Roku, chromecast or firestick but TV is also not a first priority when there are so many other things to do in the area. Local brochures and info could be added but for a newly rented home, the owner did a great job communicating and providing our basic needs. There are beautifully polished Petoskey stones hand crafted by the owner and given to us as a gift which was a really nice treat. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Petoskey week
Our stay in the Petoskey area was great fun. This property was a nice location for easy access to town.
There were 4 bedrooms so each of us had our own space to spread out.
Al, the owner, was readily accessible as this property is part of the back of his house. Nicest guy!
If going to stay in Petoskey, take your bikes. The “Wheelway” is a paved path connecting several cities along the lake/bay area.

Up North Gem
We had a great time staying at Al’s place! It’s less than a mile from downtown and close enough to 131 to get anywhere you need in minutes. Plenty of sleeping room for 2 families or one large one. The fire pit on the deck made for peaceful nights and Al would come out and play guitar for us, it was amazing!!! He was great with our boys and showed them his passion for petoskey stones. This is a true up north charm that Al has built with his own hands and we will stay here anytime we get back to Petoskey!
