Welcoming… comfortable bar area… good food options. Well situated for walking and towns like Thirsk.
4.3
Great food, staff and accommodation.
Lovely, peaceful location.
The serving and kitchen staff went above and beyond our needs when dining in the restaurant.
Breakfast was delicious and very organised.
Loved the attention to detail, i.e., 2 X welcome mini sponge mice under a little glass dome and 'blue flush' in the toilet cistern ;-)
No complimentary toiletries available, although there was no issue without. It came as a surprise, as 'chain' hotels have conditioned us to expect it!

The Staff where brilliant very friendly and helpful food and drink where very good.
We booked a superior King room but when we arrived it wasn’t the room we where given the staff apologised and asked if we wanted a refund.
4.3
A perfect place for a romantic get away. It is a charming pub in a secluded countryside location. All staff made us feel welcome and ensured our stay was just right. The room was warm, comfortable and clean. It was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was tasteful.
It would be better if toiletries were provided. The rationale for not including them is arguable.
4.3
location was great, middle of the village, easy access.
dinner was very good and wine excellent
breakfast was brilliant ( but ordering the previous night caused partner to cancel and reorder)
ordering breakfast the night before and before we had dinner.
4.3
Lovely staff, welcoming and engaging. Happy to help.
We ate in on a Sunday evening and moved to the bar to let them clear our table, to be told the bar was closed and we couldn't have another drink. It was 8.30pm.
4.3
The owners and staff were welcoming. The food was excellent. The service was good in the bar/restaurant. They were helpful and allowed me to have a small size Sunday lunch which was still very plentiful and tasty.
Evening meal was also very good with a more unusual menu for a pub.
As the room was fairly small there was no room for a bedside table at one side which made it rather awkward for drinks, water etc.
The dressing table was also small and there were stains down the wallpaper by the door and the bathroom window paint was peeling.
I appreciate they haven't owned it for that long but these were my observations .
4.3
Fantastic, top quality breakfast cooked to order
The bathroom had a slight odour but it didn’t spoil our experience.
4.3
Great food and homely feel .would Sat y there again

Lovely welcoming place to stay with everything you needed for an enjoyable short stay right on your doorstep. Loved Kilburn village with the Mouseman wood carvers showroom and workshop, Kilburn Church and being able to walk up the hill to the White Horse. Great food, cocktails and real fire made the pub the perfect spot for all our dining needs. Great staff throughout our stay.

Beautiful location and great pub and staff we couldn't fault it at all it was fabulous
Having to go home 😔

We had an excellent price from Booking.com. We knew it would be a small room and we got some noise from an aircon unit. This did not detract from our enjoyment.
The sunday lunch was the best I have ever had apart from my Mums.
4.3
Lovely food, very comfortable bed. Great tea and coffee facilities in room
Bathroom looking a little tired.

The staff went above and beyond to accomodate our requests and it was really great to be treated so specially, thanks again!
4.3
Great breakfast, lovely accomodation and welcoming atmosphere.
Thought the website menu was available so slightly less food choice than I was expecting but what we had was well cooked when the restaurant was very busy.
4.3
Great food and drink and a cosy room.
Awesome breakfast to start the day.

From the minute we arrived the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were perfect and very homely and clean. The atmosphere was like being in a pub you go in every week,
4.3
The location
The only towel was not much bigger than a hand towel. Totally inadequate to get dry, after a shower.
The sash windows opened, but no means of keeping them open. As I like fresh air I had to improvise.
The breakfast was dry, and overcooked. Assume that as I was the first one down for breakfast I got the bacon, mushroom, etc cooked well in advance.
As is often, but not always the case, in hotels, the pillows were consistently hard.
4.3
A lovely country pub. Comfortable and nicely decorated with friendly staff and good food.
4.3
The breakfast choice was exceptional and cooked just the way i like it. the location was picture post card.
There was nothing we did not like about our stay at the Forresters Arms
4.3
Friendly pub with a nice room and good food.
4.3
The breakfast was very nice.
The en-suite bathroom needed a really good clean.
The broken bedroom window needs replacing with glass instead of the piece of wood that was there that didn’t fit and left big gaps .
4.3
Very nice base to explore the wider area. Staff very friendly, especially Naomi. Very good breakfast and room really comfortable.

Quiet location in a pretty Yorkshire village. Lovely room, friendly staff, enjoyable evening meal. Dog friendly too. Stayed here over 25 years ago so a lot has changed, but it still retains it’s charm.
Pity the mouseman furniture and fittings were sold by the previous owners. Some pieces remain though if you know where to look. 😊
4.3
Forresters Arms is a lovely updated pub. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The location is beautiful and the food is lovely.
The room was very dark and the shower room was a disabled wet room. The floor didn't seem to dry.
4.3
Lovely location ,very friendly staff and great breakfast
Room seven is a bit noisy from below
4.3
Lovely location in quiet pretty village.
Spacious, clean room.
One of the best roast dinners I have ever eaten!
Why is breakfast served in the bar area rather than the restaurant ? Too dark

This was a gorgeous pub with rooms in a very pretty village. The decor was lovely and our room and en-suite were both large with a super king sized bed. Crisp white linen, a well stocked beverage tray, bottled water and two comfy leather armchairs and a coffee table positioned to sit and take in the view across the village.
Breakfast was outstanding. You fill in what you’d like from an extensive list the evening before, so you have exactly what you like with no waste. It was fresh, high quality produce and the lady serving was lovely. It came out as soon as it was cooked and was all beautifully presented.
I think they have their rooms, decor and menu spot on for a village pub. There is inevitably some noise as it’s rightly popular but I can’t recommend any improvements at all.
4.3
the cooked breakfast was excellent but too much for one of us to eat.
There was nowhere to put our clothes.
One of the windows was stuck open. It didn't matter as it was hot but it needs attention.
4.3
Superb rural location in the village of Kilburn. We were running late due to roadworks on the M1, meaning we did not arrive untiul after 23:00, but the Pub was able to accomodateour late arrival.
Breakfast on the first day was off the charts. We all opted for the Full English and it did not disapoint !.
We didnt stay for Lunch, but did book the eventing meal. Again, the food was superb. We were staying in "The Annex". a separate building to the pub itself, which had its own self contained kitchen, bathroom and secure garden. The dogs loved it, and in the mornings, it was nice to sit out and enjoy the sunny weather.
The Second day, again, Full English, some of our party decided on the Bacon Sandwich and the avacado and egg. Again, beautifully prepared, how and very filling.
Again, we did not stay for lunch, but returned for our evening meal.
This time, Double Beef Burgers, Pizza were the order of the day, and we had to submit, there was simply too much food for us all !.
Sadly Breakfast on the third day was a little disapointing, but I wont go into that here.
Generally, Everyone was friendly, helpful, polite and always available to help or answewr questions on where to go / what to see etc in the arrea.
Will we return ?? 100% we will !!
Breakfast staff on the final day "lost" our breakfast order, then found part of it and swore blind that we has made an error in booking the breakfast (Which we didnt). When I requested to see the hard copy of the breakfast order, they returned with the "lost" piece" and then tried to pass it off as if it was our fault ! ... anyway, problem was solved and Breakfast was delivered.
Final day breakfast continued ... In comparrison to the previous few days, on the final day, of the 3x Full English Breakfasts we ordered, we all recieved half of the black pudding, and half of the field mushroom !! ...
The toast had to be returned as it was little more than "warm bread", and by the time we had waited for a refresh of coffee, our meals were all finished.
4.3
Friendly, helpful staff. Very peaceful.
4.3
The quality of all the meals was excellent, served by very friendly staff.
The room we stayed in for two nights was run down. The sash windows wouldn’t close, no plug in the sink, this was reported in the first hour of our stay. No replacement of toilet paper or any toiletries supplied that for the price we payed plus the run down room disappointed us.
