Beautiful view. Very clean, had all the amenities we needed! Fulvia and Daniele were very pleasant and responsive.
Distance from apt to Bar Stazione for the included breakfast.

The owners were so kind and gave us the lay of the land before leaving. The place is very clean and spacious. Lovely accommodations for the price. There was also a washing machine which was so nice!
The quickest way to get to the apartment is by many steep stairs. It was an excellent workout - but not something I would do with children or elderly family.

The location was different than expected according to the address provided on the booking site and was located much higher up (necessitating plenty of stairs!), but in the end I really enjoyed being up high. The view was terrific! The city of Riomaggiore is beautiful and was a great place to walk around and stay. The apartment itself was very clean and it felt spacious for one person. The water was hot (and heated quickly), the wifi was strong, and the windows had a nice screen to keep out the bugs. The owners were extremely nice.
Unfortunately, I had a problem where although I received confirmation of my booking, and an email from Ca Stella telling me that they could accommodate my late arrive at 8pm in the evening, they did not send me any other details for checking in. I sent them two emails starting a few days before my arrival asking for more details, and received no response. When I showed up at the address on the booking site, there was no sign telling me which apartment was mine and there was no one around to help. I tried contacting the owners through Booking.com (the "ask a question about this property" function) and then I sent a direct email to Booking.com customer service for help. I waited until almost 9pm, then after talking to passers-by (and getting very nervous about having a place to stay), I decided to randomly knock on one of the apartment doors upstairs. A very kind old man answered, who spoke a little English, and after talking for awhile, he realized that he knew the owner of the unit. He was able to call the owner on the telephone, and the owner came to meet us. He was very friendly and apologized that there had been a problem with my booking but that the unit was still available. He explained that the apartment was located in a different location than the address on the booking site, so we had to walk awhile to the actual location. This made me somewhat nervous, and I was very tired after feeling so stressed, but I decided to trust the situation-- in the end, he did bring me to the apartment that matched the photos in the Booking listing. I never really understood what happened or why I never received any responses to my emails or from Booking.com (even almost one week later, Booking.com never responded to my request for help with this property). I think this was an example of serious customer service failing with Booking.com and I'm going to think harder next time before I use this company. It made the beginning of my vacation extremely stressful.

The place is comfortable with good views and better amenities than I have at home. You have everything you need to cook, wash your clothing, etc. Close to 2 public elevators that take you down the mountain to the train station and to the main town.
The advertised location is misleading. It is not the location of the hotel, but the meeting point with the host. He then calls a taxi that takes up into the mountain. The hotel is pretty high up. The elevators that take you down to the city ar close by so it's not really an issue, but misleading none the less. It's still only 10 minutes away from the main square (via an elevator) or 15 minutes walking.

clean
Beware - sewer smell emanating from the bathroom that stunk up the entire apartment. and you couldn’t open the windows to get the smell
out because of small
biting gnats. We weren’t told ahead of time that the entrance from the top of the hill parking lot was closed and had to drag heavy, large suitcase’s up and down at least 8 levels of uneven stairs with little to no railings. And let me tell you this was like climbing a mountain with 40lb suitcases. FYI the town has decided to not fix the issue any time soon so be prepared to kill your back going up and down.
also, be prepared to stand in someone else’s hair and muck in the shower. Drain is horrible and water will quickly overflow the shower pan if you aren’t careful!
