About this house rental
Brand New Dock!
Unique round house with stunning 360 degree views directly on the estuary, where you can fish, kayak or take a short walk across the street to enjoy Broadkill Beach. For those looking to relax, the view provides wonderful bird watching across the wildlife refuge at the back door. You can see the sun rise over the bay in the morning, and set behind the preserve in the evening. The exceptional view makes this house like no other and offers a calming environment for not only vacationing, but working or doing virtual school if you crave a change of environment.
There is plenty of room for the whole family to relax in their own space or cozy up on the couch together. The living room is an open rotunda, great for gatherings. Feel free to take advantage of the available puzzles, games and books. The in-law suite on the lower level provides a separate living area with King bed and pull out couch.
Sleep comfortably in one of the 3 king beds, 2 queens or 2 twins, all comfortable and like new condition. Unwind in front of the smart TV in family room with netflix, hulu or amazon prime or laze in front of the TV in the master suite or in-law apartment. Make a homemade meal in the full size kitchen with fully stocked cooking and baking supplies or order pizza from the Broadkill Store.
This portion of Bayshore drive fits only two houses between the beach and estuary. This means more space per family on the beach and a greater sense of privacy, in the water, on the beach, or within the home. There are simply few places in the world that allow a sense of seclusion at the beach, and certainly none as affordable as the Broadkill area.
After a day at the beach, rinse off at our private outdoor shower and store your gear under the covered carport. Enjoy a night out in the small town of Milton, at the local shops or drive into Lewis or Rehoboth beaches, both a short drive from your vacation home.
The BRAND NEW DOCK allows you to easily take out the readily available Kayaks for a family adventure or afternoon escape. Or have a relaxing day fishing or crabbing right off the back yard. Please obtain a very inexpensive fishing license to avoid any fines.

Handicap access available with elevator use upon request. As well as handicap bars in bathrooms.
"Bliss" offers a wonderful spacious environment on a secluded and undiscovered beach only a short drive from popular attractions and shopping.

This property is amazing. A unique ROUND house with views of both the Bay and the Estuary from the windows that encircle the home. Big comfy Family room, great outdoor deck to hang out and big comfy rooms. Lots of stuff available (so it made the trip easier, since we did not have to lug a ton of stuff) and the fishing was great. Nice - Easy and relaxing place to stay. Host was great and so was the Home.

This is our second year renting this house and it is our favorite spot out of all the different places we have stayed in Broadkill. The kitchen is well stocked, and rooms cleaned well. The owners are excellent and quick to respond. Each year you see something else they have worked on to keep the property in good shape. The views over the preserve are simply breath taking. Overall I highly recommend staying here for a family vacation.

This is our srcond year at Bliss and could not be happier. The location, beautiful and peaceful beach and the nature refuge did not disappoint. Owners were quick to respond to our only concern. So many wonderful memories were made. Thanks again for a great week!

Great location - the beach is almost private! The house has bay and marsh views - the Marsh view is spectacular. The house is well equipped. The owners are improving the house - a new boardwalk and pier have been added - the grandchidren loved it for fishing, crabbing and kayaking. The back stairs have been replaced. Suggestions for next improvements - some boards on the original boardwalk are warping and need to be replaced; some nails are popping on the front deck too; The separate ground floor bedroom can get musty - suggest the cleaners turn on the air before the next renters come. The third floor deck awning wasn't functional. the grill hadn't been cleaned. Bottom line - a great house and location, with the improvements it will only get better!

Our group of twelve has stayed at Bliss, the round beach house, five times now. We love it! It's very comfortable for us. The owners, Amber and Josh, are quick to respond to any question we may have. This time a storm rolled through and they assured us that all would be well with the house and it was. We marveled at how high the water rose wondering if it would reach the deck of the new dock. It didn't. This house is beautiful and comfortable. What more could we want for a beach vacation?

The property is so large, so many options for bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen clean and spacious. Upper great room has spectacular views. Elevator for bringing up supplies for kitchen and bedrooms, was so helpful. Booking for next year, bringing our boat, next time. Don’t hesitate, you’ll have a wonderful time!

We had a great time, a few glitches occurred. In law apartment needs some tlc. Very musty, we discovered the dehumidifier wasn’t draining into the sink. Property manager came and tried to fix it. Didn’t work, so we emptied it every day.it was a great place otherwise, we saw a lot of wildlife at the preserve. Loved the ocean being close by. We did have a problem with bugs eating us, but there were two storms.

Our overall impression was that we loved this place and would be interested in penciling in a booking for next year too at the same rate if possible.
Our only concerns were the back deck had a lot of nails up on it as well as the blue walkway and the stairs could use some work as they are either weak or wobbly in many places. Perhaps an inspection of that structure would be good. The downstairs in-law suite had only been cleaned in the bathroom as the room itself was covered in spiders and cobwebs. A yearly deep clean of whole property aka under things, behind things, inside couches, rugs etc, would go a long way. And finally a mattress pad or two on the hard mattresses would also help.
But we still loved our stay. The view was phenomenal, kitchen equipped and space excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Finally, any word on when the dock will be put in? That was something several ppl in our party were hoping would be done next year.
Thank you again, Harmons!

Bliss is the ultimate family vacation home complete with stunning views and every amenity you could desire. Every day brought new adventures from the amazing Prime Hook refuge to the beach and sting ray watching. Thank you for sharing such an incredible home.

Our family has a great stay here. We did have a couple days of rain, but the house family area was great for games, watching tv or just hanging out. The bedrooms were nice and clean. The elevator was very helpful. My son and daughter-in-law stayed there with their 1-year old daughter. My daughter and son-in-law went kayaking and caught crabs everyday. We got a fishing permit to take our jeep on the beach. The access was very close. There was something for everyone.

We had a lovely time, the crabbing was great and will be easier when they finish their planned deck. Take bug spray!

Wonderful extended family vacation at the shore. The setting was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. A short walk to the beach and a longer walk for ice cream. We had a great time.

This beautiful property is worth the work. The unique shape is just beginning. The view from each bedroom will bring a smile to your face. But when entering the top level, I paused. The view took my breath away.
Watching birds and the surf at one turn of my head. What a blessing to get a hug from an experience. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.

We visited with our five boys, ages 15 to 9, and they loved this property!! We ordered groceries by Instacart and headed straight for the beach. The road was quiet in September, and the sunset views were incredible.

The house and location are lovely and the hosts were very responsive and helpful. I so enjoyed my visit that I would stay there again!!

This was the most perfect home for our family over the Christmas holiday ages 87-10. The elevator made it so the grandparents could easily navigate. The in-law suit was great for us w/ the youngest child. The views and location are amazing for nature lovers.
The hosts were very accommodating to our requests and needs. We also rented linens from coastal beach services and that process was flawless.

This was our group's third time staying at Bliss. We love how comfortable it is for our group of 10 scrapbooking ladies.

Location was perfect for our late summer celebration for our mom's 90th birthday! Unfortunately the remnants of hurricane Ian joined us for the first couple of days but there was ample room inside with plenty of windows to enjoy the storm. Amber and Joshua were perfect hosts and very responsive to any questions.

Amber, thank you so much for affording such a setting for a family trip. Your responsiveness was helpful and reassuring when issues arose. You had our back! The elevator was a godsend, for the elder members of the party especially. The house was clean, well-appointed, attractive. You have the advantage of an extraordinary location, and what we've dubbed The Round Blue House is an almost magical place to take in the location. As I mentioned to you, ten minutes after my husband realized he'd forgotten his binocs, I found the pair you provided. Books, toys, all the kitchen gear for great meal-making, comfy beds, a great room that made togetherness relaxing, all the good stuff! I felt really taken care of. I met Jennie, who was having such fun planting. We had a lively gardening talk, and she confirmed my impression of you.
We made precious memories, watching egrets, herons, sunsets, moonrises, walking, biking, beaching, birthday celebrating, being together as a three generation family.
Superlatives sound trite. How it fed our hearts to be at your house is the point of all these words. We all extend great appreciation to you.

The process was easy. Amber was way to reach when we needed something. She let us know that people were stopping by to fix things or measure. It was easy to stay in her home. She did a great job of making us feel welcome without being there physically.

Our family loved the house with its panoramic views. We saw a deer swim across the canal from the nature preserve and two bald eagles. It was a great week weather wise except for the darn flies.

Great set-up for whole family. Especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen, board games, and kayaks. Views were incredible!
Especially loved our time at Cape Henlopen State Park and Delaware Seashore State Park (30-40 minute drives). Lewes and Milton were fun to explore. Enjoyed Rehoboth Beach too, though expect crowds and parking challenges.
Just a few things that would have been helpful to have known in advance:
- Biting flies/gnats made our Bay visit unpleasant, despite multiple different brands of bug spray. Could have used tips on when to visit Bay (or not) and how to avoid bites.
- Bedrooms can be bright in morning. Consider packing room darkening shades if you prefer to sleep in (or for young kids).
- Kayaking the estuary directly from property was awesome! Do pay attention to tidal charts though, as coming back at low tide in the mud is quite a challenge. (Perhaps obvious, but we're landlubbers)
- Kitchen could use smaller juice glasses, but had all other conveniences of home, with enough dishes, cutlery, and mugs for a large family.
Host was immediately responsive with any questions, and check-in was easy.
Thanks for a great week!

Bliss had everything we wanted in our vacation home. Private beach access, estuary behind the house for kayaking, spacious indoor areas for our large family. We will definitely keep this house in mind when planning future beach trips!

Would love to go again. The only negative was the condition of the dock and decks. The kayak was great but there wasn’t access to the back creek area because of the condition of the dock. I’d love to go again but it appears the pricing has increased by over 25% for 2023! We love broadkill beach mainly because of how secluded it is and easy waves for little kids.

We loved our week here! The views from the living area were spectacular — nearly 360 degrees of widows, with excellent vistas over the marsh and views of the bay. The house was extremely well furnished, especially for a family — so many games for grown-ups and kids, kids’ toys and books, and a whole drawer of videos. The host also furnished paper products and laundry detergent, and, among other things, there was a small supply of first-aid products — very thoughtful! The furnishings were comfy and in great condition. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the recliner and gazing out over the marsh. The beach was just a very short walk away, and was perfect if you’re looking for gentle waves and family friendly experiences. The beach was nearly deserted when we were there in July, which we loved! We also loved the wild nature of the Broadkill Beach area — it’s not built up at all, and there still are lots of small trees and undeveloped areas. Also, if you’re into birds, this is the place for you — we saw osprey, snowy egrets, small blue herons, tricolor herons, swallows, gulls and wrens! Black biting flies on the beach can be a drawback, but if you’re well-prepared with Deet-containing bug spray, you’ll be fine — at least we were. Amber, the host, was wonderful — check-in was a breeze and she was extremely responsive. We'll definitely be back.

Relaxing Vacation
This house was perfect for a multigenerational family vacation. The pictures online do not do the house justice. The views from the top floor are simply stunning. We spent a lot time watching all the wildlife in Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge. We also enjoyed some quality time putting together puzzles and playing games from the wide variety of items available at the house. Most of our meals were cooked at the house and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed.
It's a short walk from the house to Broadkill Beach where we were able to relax, fly kites, and see Horseshoe Crabs. We also spent time nearby at Lewes Beach, Rehoboth Beach, and Cape Henlopen State Park. We took the Lewes Ferry over to Cape May, NJ for a day and had a wonderful time exploring. Cape Water Tours in Lewes offers boat tours and we enjoyed a lovely evening boat cruise on the Deleware Bay where we saw the most dolphins we’d ever seen.
Amber was wonderful at quickly replying to all my questions prior to our stay at the house. Access to the elevator was much appreciated by all, but especially for the oldest members of our family.
We had a lovey week long stay with perfect weather and hope to return again!

Great stay
We were a family of three generations and we all enjoyed our stay. The house was great with lovely views, very clean and well equipped. The owner was responsive to our few minor questions. This is our favorite beach and just hope it remains a well kept secret.

Great house for a family gathering
We had a wonderful stay at the beautiful house. The views are fantastic and the kitchen and living room are nice to hang out in. The owners are very responsive and helpful.
Future guests should note that the elevator is the only indoor connection to the MIL suite. Outdoor stairs are also available. It’s also important to note that the bedroom windows are not to be opened, so rooms can get stuffy. Bring eye shades if you are sensitive to light and in the MIL suite, as the curtains on that level do not block light.

Amazing stay
This is a truly special place. The weekend we were there actually had terrible weather but the bright windows and beautiful view just made it another way to experience this place. This is our second time staying here and we could not recommend it more!

Best of Broadkill Beach
We all enjoyed our stay at Broadkill Beach, ages 1 to 60. We enjoyed biking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, digging, walking on the beach, and just relaxing with our amazing views all day long. We did not miss a sunrise or sunrise from the upper level of the house. AMAZING!

Great family space
Lovely home with lots of options for fishing on the marsh side or playing on the beach on the bayside. The greatroom on the top floor is incredible views of both preserve and bay. The windows all around give a sense of being outdoors even when inside. The need to go outside to access the inlaw suite is a little awkward, but it worked for us. The home is clearly well loved with charming painted furniture and lots of nooks for escaping from the crowd if needed (pre-teens!!)

Great Beach House
This was the second trip our women's group spent at this eclectically fabulous house. You can't beat the views! We were all very comfortable sleeping and there was plenty of room for us in the common area to relax, catch up, or watch tv. The owners' accommodating nature continue to please us with their attentiveness to details. We will gladly come back to Bliss in the future.

A piece of paradise!
This property is surrounded by a wildlife refuge. If that interests you, you’ll be overjoyed. Bliss is a beautiful property! It is clean, the kitchen is incredibly well stocked (as good or better than home), the decor is whimsical and in very good taste. The mattresses are comfortable, new, great! The 360 degree views are absolutely breathtaking. Communication with Amber was wonderful, she was available to help in any way needed. I can’t say enough. We hope to return.

This house is really special. The pictures don’t do justice to the view! We had a wonderful time cooking in the well stocked kitchen and enjoying this amazing house and beach.

Great Vacation
Very nice house. We chose this rental because it was close (but far enough away) from where my daughter, son-in-law, and 4-grandkids were staying. A bit of a walk to the beach, but great views of the bay and estuary from the living room. Great sun rises & sun sets as well as a beautiful moon rise a couple of nights. Quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay there again!
