Nice location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, quiet. Easy for a family of four.

A perfect introduction to New Zealand hospitality - setting a very high standard.

Lovely boutique hotel which offers personalised service. We got upgraded to a junior suite which was an additional bonus. The bed was extremely comfortable giving a perfect nights sleep - the No1 priority in our book. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel offers onsite car parking and is well positioned, close to the centre of the city and its many facilities. Great place to stay.

We would have preferred more hanging space for clothing and the wardrobe system wasn’t able to accommodate our suitcases, as designed. Small point, but annoying to have suitcases littering the available floor space. Apart from that, all was perfect.

Die Willkommens-Pralinen auf dem Tisch waren erstklassig. Die Tee und Kaffeeauswahl an der Minibar war überaschend lecker. Das Hotel verfügt über eine Gourmet-Küche! Essen wird ganztags serviert. Angenehme Atmosphäre und auserlesene Weine aus Neuseeland und Australien. Bei Check-In gibt es ein Welcome-Drink nach Wahl.

Sun-blessed indulgence and comfort

Loved the location on edge of Cranmer Square - gave pleasant outlook from rooms on the courtyard side. Is only a 5-10 min walk to town centre and much closer to Hagley Park and the Arts Centre. Room was spacious and balcony was a delight. In-house Polo bar and restaurant had delicious food. Complementary arrival drink and e-bike hire was wonderful. Would definitely recommend.

We did get some noise from the Polo bar below and from the people outside (from 6.30 up till about 10 pm). If you are a light sleeper,or very noise-sensitive you might want to go for an upper storey ( we were on level 1) or the other end/side of the building. However, the suites above the bar and on the courtyard side/end have the nicest views, so it is a trade-off!

A quality hotel with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

A wonderful location. Brilliantly thought out. Lovely staff and well-meaning owners. A lovely hotel with attentive and friendly staff. The fact it’s dog-friendly is a real bonus.

Great place, highly recommended

Extremely friendly and engaged staff. Great facility, really spacious and comfortable and close to the center without the rush of the center. Easy and accessible parking, free of charge.

Value for money in all ways

The staff were friendly and very efficient. The restaurant meals were amazing. Really were made to feel welcomed. The location was great.

A rare and considered accomodation that is utterly relaxing.

The bed was sublimely comfortable and offered great rest to combat jet lag. Hotel Montreal also has an in house laundry and many thoughtful touches to ensure a relaxing stay.

Was a great stay my friends and I had a great time and the staff were very helpful and friendly! 😊

Great location, and our room was very spacious and had a nice big balcony.

Could have had a bit more things in the kitchen for serving yourself food.

I'd not hesitate to book here again.

Katrina and Fabricio- two staff at the hotel responded to questions and went all out to to ensure that everything was exceptional.

A Very pleasant and easy break away.

The bed was very comfy and clean. Great restaurant with lovely staff.

There were cigarette butts on the balcony ashtray, obviously missed by the cleaner. Towels were a bit scratchy.

A very enjoyable stay with a good dinner and comfortable night.

It was great to return to the Montreal after too long. It is in a great location and the staff did their usual superb job looking after us. This culminated in Kristina giving us a lift to the airport on our departure which was much appreciated.

Love the room size

Location was great - close to cbd to walk and also botanic garden and parklands. Good coffee nearby and a number of places to eat. The Mexican place down the road is on fire. Come in winter .. the outdoor log fire is the best

Warm and welcoming place to stay in a fantastic location!

The location was fantastic! The hotel is close to several restaurants, the casino as well as parks and botanic gardens. As described, the hotel is pet friendly, and our little doggo received a warm welcome. All staff members we met were helpful and very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

A nice stay at a familiar hotel in a great area with superb staff.

Suite was fantastic size and well set out. The bathroom was cold though, with no heating or towel rail plus an ill fitting door. Small but vital during winter.

HAPPY, RELAXING & ENJOYABLE

The staff were always pleased to assist us with our requests. They helped make our stay more memorable. The food at the restaurant was excellent, location for access to the city centre was ideal. It was also great to be given a free drink voucher for the bar. We don't usually take our dog on trips, but we thought we would give it a go because they are pet friendly. This facility was also excellent and right near a couple of parks. We will be back

Thankful for quality beds and decent shower

We were stranded in NZ on our way to Tahiti during the floods however this Hotel was a blessing and a great stopover. The beds were so comfortable and the shower excellent after the long delay we had due to the cancellation of international flights. We were so comfortable that we stayed in our room for the entire time we were stranded. The room was clean and had decent blockout curtains. checkout was easy. It’s a little noisy at times with the bar downstairs but we still managed to get quality sleep due to the comfort of the beds.

a little unusual to have wardrobes in the lounge room.
