Poached egg over done, beans reheated & old, black pudding not tasting of much & lukewarm. Mushrooms from a tin. Bacon ok
Extractor fan of kitchen directly below room = noise & vibration

Room a good size and immaculate, lovely bar area, lovely outside seating area (made better by the peace and quiet and Summer sunshine), lovely grounds, excellent food at reasonable prices and fantastic service (including the lovely lady who waited on at breakfast and then bumped into cleaning the rooms - very cheery and polite)...overall a great little place in a lovely quiet, quaint village.

breakfast was lovely, the staff were lovely.
rooms were clean
stayed her a few times, and always choose to come back if i can get it within my work budget.
The only thing i would say is there was a wedding taking place the day i was leaving so breakfast was moved to another room, which is not as nice or picturesque as eating in the main dining room

Loved everything apart from the bed.Food was the highlight for us!
The bed was to soft and myself being heavier than my wife,it felt like she was rolling down onto me through the night. We both suffer neck pain so a firmer bed would of been more sufficient.

Thoroughly enjoyed the location, the hotel, room and the restaurant was excellent. Will be staying there again on our trips to Portugal by boat.

Room clean and good facilities
Noise from the bar area until late at night plus reception greeting when we arrived. Had driven 5 hrs, attending a funeral and greeting was you are too early to check in (by 30 mins) it’s unlikely your rooms will be ready. No hello or welcome, how was your journey etc, had better service from an automated check in at premier inn !

The staff is very good. Great at checking, and so helpful and attentive at the bar and restaurant.
Too cold to venture outside but the garden view was amazing.
Great location and grounds.
It is such a beautiful building, shame the decor it's a bit old-fashioned. Looks likes it has been recently renovated but still lacks style, could beca little bit more modern and fresh to attract youger people. We only stayed one night so but most of the customers were pensioners.

Everything was perfect, the room, the lovely bathroom but especially the bed.
Finally someone gets it and spends their money on the thing we spend most of our time using. 10 stars for the bed!!

Setting, decor, staff, price and the excellent in-house restaurant with the best waitress and food/wine.
Nothing. There was a baby christening on during the day but it was a great atmosphere with great music.

beautiful location
spacious room
great bathroom
great dinner
helpful staff
really uncomfortable bed - mattress was really soft and sank through to springs
some guests were really rude when I popped downstairs one evening made me feel uncomfortable

Very friendly and helpful staff, not a single staff member who was not helpful. My mother accompanied my husband and I and catering for people with a disability presents it’s own challenges but the staff made up for any shortfalls of which there were very few. A huge thanks to the managers and staff group. We will most definitely visit again.
A wet room for people with mobility problems my mother did have problems negotiating the step into the bath.

Beautiful property. Wonderful staff. Incredible bathroom. Comfortable bed. Dinner menu had a lot of variety and everything we had was excellent.
We were there during a heatwave and there was no A/C so it was warm in the room. Also, the breakfast options were rather limited.

A gorgeous building beautifully decorated.
The views across the lawns are sooo tranquil and relaxing.
Staff are lovely and friendly
