We really enjoyed our stay at Poplar House with family. The house is modern with plenty of space, well equipped with nice gardens. Located in a lovely village with a nice pub and lots of walks in the area. Internet connection was poor so watch out if you need to work during your stay and the hot tap water was far too hot which needs looking at. Highly recommend for family or groups of friends.

Wi-Fi very slow and unreliable.
Place comfortable but not much character. A few plants in the garden might cheer it up?
Pub within walking distance with good food and reliable WiFi
The booklet states things are at the house which aren’t eg Walking leaflet. Update the booklet or provide the stated information

House was in a very good location - it is in the village of Ebrington near Chipping Campden (and, importantly, 2 mins walk from a great pub/restaurant!). House was modern, spacious and well-supplied. It also had an accessible bedroom/en suite on the ground floor, which was important for one of the party.
The property managers were very quick to respond to booking queries, and the housekeeper was very friendly and helpful.
Overall, an excellent property and stay.

Seamless booking with Bolthole Retreats. Fantastic house very comfortable, had a brilliant weekend, lovely pub 2 minutes away
Felt it needed more glasses, cups, serving dishes, only one small frying pan, no bin liners
I left an iPhone charger, left a voicemail forTim to ask if he could send it on but haven't heard anything back as yet

This cottage is beautiful inside and out. We stayed for Christmas and decorated for us. Wonderful pub 2 minutes walk away good food and beers.
Beds very comfortable and bathrooms very clean. The only thing I could have wished for was a cheese grater in the utensils! Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Works really well for 6 people. Plenty of space, good sized bedrooms & all amenities one would need. Pub next door is good ( book early if you want to eat) & the Indian in Chipping Campden dores a great takeaway.

A lovely find in the Cotswolds. Good size for 3 families, and well equipped. Would definitely recommend staying here.

On the hole, the house was clean. Although, there were several long dark hairs in the downstairs bath & the bbq hadn't been cleaned after previous occupant. Facilities were excellent.

Who does this house appeal to? I cannot pin point exactly, however, I can share my experience.
Me being in club 35-45’s, my partner states that I am ‘extremely fussy & high maintenance’ when it comes to finding places to stay. My way of life is everything should be seen as an experience, I have a passion for homes & interior styling, I take this passion with me wherever I stay. My wife and almost 2 year old daughter were accompanied by another couple and a friend & her corgi. I couldn’t put another house before this having seen the layout, location and readily available spaces. You drive into a newly paved drive situated opposite a farm with meadows full of sheep. As soon as you step into the house, you’re greeted with information you’d scramble for before you can relax, all round preemptive details such as a child’s high chair & fold away cot were on demand, meaning as a parent to a small child you can eliminate a few stresses.
I’ve stayed in a number of diverse hotels, houses and members clubs, this truly felt like a getaway. The house extremely clean and fantastically managed, the property commands respect from each guest and sends out subtle reminders in each room/space to maintain high standards. I believe the property has been built well enough to evolve with time.
This recent stay has been a positive experience.
Thank you team and well done.

Great location and lovely house with everything we needed for our short stay.
Lovely village with a great pub only a few steps from the house and plenty of scenic walks from the village.

All 8 of us enjoyed our stay at Poplar House. The house is almost new and is well suited due to it having 3 shower rooms for 4 bedrooms (although the showers are all quite small). The house was warm on arrival and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay.
We had a couple of minor issues which we reported to the fantastic USP that is Hannah. We pinged her at around 10pm not expecting a response but 8 minutes later Hannah replied advising a workman would be on site at 9am the next morning. Tom arrived as planned and fixed the minor issues. Excellent customer service!
Only slight issue was poor wifi connectivity.
Would definitely go again as the location next door to the Ebrington Arms pub (good food) as well as ensuite walking in and around Ilmington and Chipping Camden provides epic views.
Also go to the Fuzzy Duck for dinner.

Whilst in a remote location in a small village of Ebrington, myself and my party had to travel everywhere by car.
The local pub was literally 3 mins away and vegetable shop 7 mins walk.!!!
I as the organiser found the beds to be low, cushions soft and I had hoped all the beds would at least be kingsize.
The house was tidy but we lost most of the day waiting to get in, at the 4pm arrival time.
We were only there for 3 days.
The outside had a lack of lights, so visually we couldnt see our cars and we had to use a torch to get to the car at night.
There was a mark on the ceiling downstairs, which could have been damp coming through
We have rented a property before and felt this was more basic than our previous house last year.

This is a wonderful well equipped cottage and was perfectly suited to our party of 7 adults. There are plenty of marked walks of varying lengths from the cottage and coupled with a Farm Shop/Cafe and Pub/Restaurant all with a few minutes walk, we found that we didn't need to use the car at all. I highly recommend it.

A lovely cottage in a pretty little village. Very comfy beds and well equipped. Great pub next door. The lawned garden is plenty big enough for the dogs to have a run around. There’s also a separate patio with table and chairs. We had a great stay and had no complaints. The showers are small with no shelf for shampoo etc but that didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the cottage.
4.6
So clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely to have the Ebrington arms so close. Just a bit noisy with traffic at times in the small yard space but nothing that detracted from our stay and we would certainly recommend to friends and family

6 Adults + 2 Children for a week
Poplar House is part of a small development of holiday cottages built behind the pub in Edgerton. It was built to a very high standard with accomodation for 8 adults + a travel cot. We had a fabulous stay - beds were comfortable, showers great. Only issue was the lack of space in the kitchen: more than two adults preparing food was tricky.

Needs improvements!
The house needs improving internally, the living room looks like a caravan or similar to those stayed in holiday parks whilst on rugby tours with my sons. The lighting needs improving, a bigger coffee table, the clock is a waste of space and by the way does not work (none of the clocks in the house, including the oven clocks work). The showers are tiny - luckily we are all slim but I do not think a larger person could fit. There is no shelving in the bathroom to store cosmetic or wash items. The beds are comfy and bed linen is fine but the standard of items is poor, including the furniture in the rooms. There is no chest of drawers in the main bedroom, only one wardrobe.
The kitchen and utility are fine - just no egg cups and saucepans are quite cheap. I wondered if we were the first in the property as the counter tops would definitely stain after a while, esp tea stains.
The builders were still working on the 4th house and garages so I presume very new. The garden needs work and it would be a good idea to have a bench outside the front door along the wall as the sun is beautiful in the morning and a lovely place to sit with a coffee before the sun reaches the area with sitting outside the kitchen.
With all this in mind I am incredibly disappointed that we spent almost £2000 for 5 days - it was my Mum's 80th. I am not sure how you can charge so much for such a poorly equipped house.

Excellent short stay
Beautiful house, clean and modern with enough room for 8 adults and a toddler. Perfect place for scenic circular walks and amazing lunch and dinner at the nearby pub.

Lovely stay in Ebrington
Great stay for birthday weekend with friends. Right next to the pub!!!!
Some mugs were not clean in the cupboard. The water in the kitchen was scalding hot. All three blokes in my party struggled with the small shower units - not much space snd no shelves to put toiletries on.
The living room was freezing and took an age to warm up, with one radiator expected to warm a large room. That all said, despite the weather, we had a great stay in a well equipped house. Thanks

Dream House
What a wonderful house, absolutely stunning. Excellent customer service bolthole retreats, we had to change dates because of covid. Bolthole went out the way for us, because the house we originally booked was booked was rented out on the day we required it they upgraded us to a bigger house next door. Superb service and excellent house.

Weekend break with family
The house was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for 8 adults, baby and a dog and everything provided including lots of toilet rolls!!! Lovely village location right next to the fantastic Ebrington Arms. Appreciated the welcome email and communication.

Friends reunited after too long
Immaculate holiday house in an excellent location within easy reach of places like Chipping Campden, Stow, Moreton-in-Marsh etc. Fabulous pub on the doorstep and well-stocked farm shop with lovely cafe within ten minutes walk.
All bedrooms are a good size with nobody feeling short-changed on space. Lounge area lacks a bit of cosiness and a focal point - did not want to linger in here really, but otherwise very comfortable.
Highly recommended although a 10am checkout always jars after a lovely relaxing weekend - a bit of flexibility for a later checkout (even 11am would be appreciated!) would go a long way, particularly in low season.
We would return.

Great for family get together
Everything about the cottage was just perfect for a family get together. So much space for everyone. No clutter. Comfy beds. Great kitchen space for everyone to be together - prepping food, cooking, chatting and playing games.
We were so lucky with the weather too and the outside patio was used for every meal!
Thank you

Lovely brand new, well equipped property in the middle of the countryside.
Poplar House is a brand new property in a small cluster of 3 on the edge of Ebrington. My wife and I stayed there for a week with 3 of our adult children and their partners so we had 8 adults in the house and we fitted in very comfortably. The property is literally next door to the village pub and within a few miles of some of the main Cotswolds attractions such as Hidcote Manor Garden (National Trust) and Chipping Campden. Both are within walking distance if you want to do so.

Lovely countryside house
We were very impressed with this new build house, all high standard, very comfortable and great added extras like welcome pack, soaps, shampoo, massive family outside table with cushions:sun umbrella etc and all lovely views. Pub next door was a massive bonus and local farm veg shop and butchers was a fantastic find and good prices too! Great location also for visiting the Cotswolds and Warwickshire .

Spotless, modern, great location BUT
The location is brilliant - proper countryside on the doorstep and an award winning pub 30 seconds away (it was never noisy though, except for birdsong). The house was super clean and beds were comfy, but there were a couple of things that slightly marred our stay. The layout is a bit odd with the living room and garden completely separate from the kitchen and patio dining. So we never used them! The garden is weirdly bleak - just one little shrub or tree to soften it would go a long way. The internet signal was very patchy and weak - not good enough to watch TV some of the time. The acoustics in the house are such that small noises carried through the house. The lighting is all quite harsh/cold, which was ok for us in summer but for a cosy winter stay it would have been an issue. And this is nitpicking but the decor is all a bit grey/cold. Again it wasn’t a huge prob in summer but could make for a slightly depressing time in colder/greyer weather. Overall we had a great week but not sure I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

Lovely quiet getaway
Lovely new house in a pretty village. All the facilities you require. Excellent farm shop nearby and close to pubs etc in Chipping Campden. Would stay again.
