Despite the inaccuracies in the description, the cabin itself and the location were fabulous. We very much enjoyed our visit and we appreciated all the nice touches including the deck and the cozy decor. The entire place was very well maintained.
This is NOT A 3 BEDROOM CABIN. There are two bedrooms and a sleeper couch in the living room, which has no door and is open to the kitchen and dining areas. I believe the hosts should be honest about this. I told them so and they did not agree to fix the description. My husband and I are traveling with our two teenagers and we've all been sharing hotel rooms and I rented this cabin specifically so my teens could have a break with some private space. I would likely not have done so if the description had not read "3 bedroom." In addition, the owners apparently do not have this cabin cleaned between guests. They have a sign in the cabin instructing guests to vacuum, mop, clean the toilet, etc, and that there will be a large charge if cleaners must be brought in to do these things. I've stayed in a lot of air bnbs and similar and the usual is to include a fee to cover cleaning and guests just take out trash, wash the dishes they used and put bedding into a designated spot. I feel that if a deep cleaning is expected, that should be mentioned in the description up front. Transparency is all I ask.

We loved our 2-night stay here. The house is comfortably sized for four, kitchen is well-equipped, there are clear instructions where needed. This is a family vacation home rather than just a tourist cottage, and it really felt like something special the owners were sharing with us.

Didn't realize when we booked that we had to clean before we left. Also, making sure linens were provided was more challenging than I expected. The flies were awful at the house. We killed many, made sure windows were closed and yet more appeared. First night was really bad. No screens on the windows. Thank goodness it wasnt hot outside - we would not have been able to open the windows the flies were so bad

The sofa was very comfortable and the wifi worked well. The area was quiet despite its proximity to the airport (few planes but you can hear them when they arrive or depart). The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have a washing machine.
The cabin was difficult to find. We followed the booking.com GPS coordinates but they were incorrect and we had to them try with the ones supplied by the owner in an email (we had wrongly assumed these were identical). Consequently we wasted a lot of time searching for the cabin and even trying to get into the wrong one! We had a lot of problems with flies and it seems like we had no sooner killed them all than they were back again. This was despite having all the windows and doors closed. The cabin was exceptionally warm even when we turned the radiators off and we had difficulty sleeping.
The two bedrooms are almost completely filled with the large double beds (probably king size). There was a bunk bed over the end of each of the doubles in each bedroom making the rooms feel very small and cramped. We had to make the beds up ourselves with linen supplied by the host. It was very difficult to get sheets onto beds which fill the whole room and if you arrive late you will not want to do this. In addition, we had to strip the beds in the morning and clean the house before leaving. If you want to get away at 6, you will need to be up very early! Check the small print before you book this property.
For the amount we paid we didn't expect to have to do our own housekeeping.
The shower is very, very small and the folding doors fold into it. This makes it difficult to get in and out without soaking the floor. There is nothing to put soap or gel on.
There is nowhere to put your own stuff. All the wardrobes are full of duvets and pillows. The kitchen cupboards are also full so finding a spot for our own food was challenging. We had to leave our cases and most of our stuff in the car.
The beds are very very soft - one of us liked this but the other has a bad back and found it very uncomfortable.
Overall, this cabin did not live up to expectation. Although clean and well-equipped it felt very cramped even though there were only two of us.

A great Icelandic experience! This cottage in the middle of nowhere is absolutely cozy and charming. It was wonderful to watch Friends episodes before going to sleep, and to wake up in perfect silence, surrounded by nature. As a family of 4 adults and a toddler, it was perfect, clean and safe. Our son enjoyed playing on the sofa and pulling down all the DVD boxes. Very well organized without meeting the hosts. We hope to come back soon!

Spacious and cozy house with everything we needed. We had a comfortable stay here.
Path to the cabin is hideous and not shown on google map or gps - we had to follow the guide on youtube after reaching Husavik airport.
20 mins drive from Husavik and around an hour drive from Akureyri. Remote location but we got to see some Northern lights right on top of our cabin on our second night.

We loved everything of it. Very isolated and intimate location (perfect for Northern lights!). Cozy apartment. We spent there just a few days but we would have loved to spend there our whole holiday.
Also, very friendly owner
