Mountain Peaks Inn was a very nice, clean and quiet place to stay. The owners were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely look to stay there again on our next visit to the Black Hills.

It was clean and had everything we needed to prepare a meal. We didn’t use it, but there was coffee and tea available.

Cabin was intimate but perfect for what we needed. Location was great, several restaurants within easy walking distance, gas stations and shops if so desired. Also walking distance to 1880 Train and very comfortable distance to a lot of area attractions.
Cooking was not allowed inside but we used the provided grill and brought electric skillets that we plugged in on the deck area. Worked great.
Owners were great to work with and met all of our needs. Make sure to stop by their coffee shop in the morning. My daughter loved their shakes.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the location very close to Hill City and the Mickelson trail. Listing is accurate, but outdoor spaces not attractive and accommodation is cramped for this couple.

From booking to check out the experience was fantastic. The hosts texted us when our room was ready and provided clear instructions on how to access the property. The location is perfect. You can view the Black Hills while you drink a coffee at the coffee shop. You can walk to downtown Hill City, very quaint town. Easy ride to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Deadwood. About two hours to Devil's Tower. Visit South Dakota and stay here. You won't regret it.

We did have issues with the lock to our door. But Lisa was available via text and phone to take care of the issue quickly, especially during a busy holiday weekend. The location is about 15 miles from Rushmore, and you can use access the site from two roads. Make sure to check out the Washington profile off 244. You can easily access Iron Mountain Road and Needles Highway, as well as Custard State Park, where you can hopefully see the bison heard. Getting to the outskirts of Rapid City is easy, only about 25 minutes away. There you will find Reptile Gardens and Fort Hayes Chuckwagon, among other things. Coffee at the shop was good, and as a guest, you can find a coupon for a free cup or $3 off an order. Restaurants close by, laundry a block away, grocery store down the street, and 1880 train depot across the street. In cabin, expect to find a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The bunk area for the kids provided great privacy for all, and the kids loved having their own area. Great place if you want access to everything in the Black Hills.

We enjoyed our time here being in the middle of so many activities to do in the Black Hills. The only negative thing is the TV because we didn't understand how to use it so we played cards at night instead creating more memories.
