Pretty good, amazing position in authentic wee cottage

Fantastic location, small but well appointed

There was supposed to be a parking scratch card to allow for free parking which we couldn’t find, so we ended up paying for 2 days parking

lovely little cottage, very central,

Freshly decorated, comfy beds, great location, everything we needed

I didn’t find the spiral staircase accessible as it is quite cramped

Loved it and would go back.

Very cosy and immaculate. Bed comfy. Water pressure amazing. Location so close to main harbour and shops etc. loved it and would go back.

Big enough for the two of us but would feel anymore would be a squeeze.

Canny weekend for 4onthego

Superb location for harbour and all amenities. Clean and well equipped cottage.

Space very limited (but name indicated this would be the case) 2 couches not particularly comfy for 4 adults . If you are a light sleeper and on the upper floor the noise from the local night club and early morning seagull chorus may disturb you.

Location was great cosy little cottage everything we needed very quiet nicely decorated

Shame about all the cigarette ends on the entrance down the alley which probably was to do with the pub on the corner there was also a lot of water coming from the drain of the cottage next door which gave a unpleasant smell at times

Had a lovely stay and the weather was superb

The bedrooms were very spacious really comfortable beds clean accommodation

The kitchen/lounge were small for 4 adults. The staircase was ok for us but anyone older than us might struggle on the stairs

wonderful stay in lovely cottage in a beautiful town

excellent location, very central but in a quiet street. property had everything you would want and clean

the glasses could do with being replaced and the mop and bucket in the cupboard was a bit smelly but minor

Lovely clean and comfortable property - very handily situated, with seemless check in : )

Very close to all local amenities and attractions etc. Really pretty little property with a nice feel to it. Super clean and comfortable! Lovely bed.

The windows seem to let in a lot of noise from the lane, so it gets a bit loud, but I suppose it that comes with a central location and historic property. There were quite a lot of automated emails during the booking process that got a bit confusing.

We had a lovely stay in Whitby and will definitely be back but would pick alternative accommodation.

Location was great. Everything was within walking distance and shops on doorstep. Grandson loved the amusement arcades and some lovely little cafes.

Cottage was too small, very, very compact. Winding stairs to bedrooms not great and handrail did not go right to top. It was very clean and beds were comfy.

Greatt property, poor booking agent

The property. Fantastic location, well-appointed, great character

Host and Stay, the booking agent. Excessive emails prior to stay asking for large deposit or to pay damage waiver. Messages continued even after I completed this, to the point of having to call them to check they had received my registration and ask them to stop calling. On arrival found several stains on couch, stained bedding and towels. Very disappointing especially after having been made to pay a fee for the damage deposit - I would have expected it to be immaculate. When I raised the issues, customer service told me they had ‘looked into and resolved the issue’ which was untrue since we were in the property. Emailed again and they made vague offer to ‘look into getting someone out to the property to try to remove stains’, an offer we declined since we did not wish to waste any more of our short 2 night stay responding to emails from Host&Stay. In my view they should have sent someone with clean sheets to drop off immediately. No further compensation offered. If I were the owner of the property, would move to different agent.

.Hand rail needed on steps leading to front door .sensor light by front door would help with key code .More handrails needed , particularly at the top of the stairs & other side of the wall . .light needed on top floor , to assist lighting of top flight of stairs

we’ve stayed before so we rebooked but this time we couldn’t get the fire working (it was cold been December) email the host they just asked the obvious questions and then didn’t reply

Property was great. Process with Host and Stay was hard work. Far too many emails and kept being asked daily to put a damage waiver in place even after we had paid it. Not a good experience. Again property was great.

awesome location and lovely little cottage

nothing about the property but careful with Host and Stay and their policies. you’re forced into taking the more expensive security deposit option as you have to beg and wait for yours to be returned. I’ve waited 15 days now and was told to e mail the company who took the deposit to find out where it is. ridiculous, it doesn’t take 15 days to check the property hasn’t been damaged and return it. meanwhile they get extra interest whilst your money sits in their account!

Perfect, totally relaxing and fuss free.

The whole experience, the location was perfect right in the shopping area next to the swing bridge car parking and sea front.

Slight noise from pub but Hadley worth mentioning.

That there wasn’t anywhere to store beach stuff surf boards wet suits etc Tried not to spread sand over the cottage but was difficult Car was too far away to store it in there

Fabulous cottage highly recommend.

It was right in the centre so we did not have to walk far, very clean & owners provided milk, washing up liquid, towels etc, 9 year old daughter loved all the stairs & the room at the top. Definitely book again & highly recommend

only downside was no yard or garden to have a few drinks as weather was so hot

Great for a short break.

Great location. Lovely little property too

Would have been nice to have a bin and full length mirror in all the bedrooms. The noise in the middle of the night from loud/drunk people using the alley as they left the local pubs, but that wasn’t the hosts fault. A little mould around the shower tray.
