Good place.Very clean, very well equiped. There were alot of steps so no good for anyone with serious mobility issues. I was ok and I walk with 2 sticks. The alley was upkept, but not sure who would sweep this?? Great bedrooms, also had fair size bathrooms.
Not a complaint as such but could do with some lubricant on the front door key lock

The location was great. Very central.
Parking difficult.
Quite noisy but that didn't bother us.

Nice spacious property, and rooms were very clean. Bathroom & shower were excellent, as were the towels.
Cutlery in the drawer and the oven tray were dirty from previous guests.
No dishes for cooking things in the oven, and no tin opener.
The noise of the seagulls kept us awake all night, but I don't suppose you can do much about that.

Good location close to centre. Clean and had everything you needed. Comfortable beds and pleasant modern decor.
Need blackout curtains in Twin bedroom. It overlooked an alleyway which was lit by a light that stayed on all night and kept me awake. Also the alleyway was full of rubbish and very uninviting and needs to be cleaned. The double room overlooked the front of the property and there was some noise from early morning deliveries.

The location was good (though see next point) and the facilities were very good for a family stay.
It wasn't so easy to find the property as its not clearly indicated so we had to ask in a shop, which happened to be the shop below the flat.
The rooms were very noisy at night due to the central location and we were kept up till 1am-ish by people coming home from pubs etc and then loud seagulls throughout the night, all of which can't be helped except a property like this in such a location really should have double glazed windows to offer a little bit of noise cancellation.
And about the windows, the lounge windows were covered in large areas of bird mess, which looked like it had been there for some time and was not a very nice welcome and detracted from leisure time spent in the lounge. The property, especially being above a shop, should have its windows regularly cleaned.

The flat had full very good amenities.
When we arrived, the flat had not been cleaned. There were dirty towels and bedding left on the floors. I rang Sykes, who could not get hold of the owners. I kept ringing for updates but Sykes could not give me any as the owners did not respond. We were seriously considering staying in a hotel and were worried because Whitby is in high season and finding something last minute would be a problem. We went back to the flat after 9pm to find that it had been cleaned. But the owners did not tell anyone. They left a pack biscuits which were 2 years out of date and there was no toilet roll! So luckily the Coop was open until 10pm so I quickly went over to grab some. Not a good start to the weekend! Sykes did everything they could, but the owners lack of communication was incredibly frustrating, upsetting and ignorant. Having to stay out till 9pm, when it was wet and windy is not anyone's idea of fun.

Clean and comfortable. Two bathrooms on different levels were very useful when sharing with a work colleague. All bedding etc. provided and all lovely and unmarked. Location was good but.....
Not something that the owners have control of but: the upper, double, bedroom overlooks the high street. Vendors, delivery trucks, street cleaners, workmen etc.. start early and are not the quietest! I was woken at 5:30 on the first morning and 6:00 on the second. The windows were open due to the heat, though I doubt that they would have blocked much of the noise being old, single glazed, sash units.
Minor point: We had to buy our own toilet roll despite most other items (including kitchen roll) being provided.

The location was perfect and it was very clean !!
Perhaps a mishap but there was no toilet roll whatsoever when we arrived and I found it very basic inside for the price perhaps shampoo etc and maybe a welcome pack with milk and bread etc

lovely clean apartment everything we needed was provided
too many stairs for us as we are elderly and have mobility problems, but perfect for mobile people, right in centre of town, yes there was noise outside but being right in town we would expect this

Location
The house had loads of noise from the street, there was no double glazing and hence no sound proofing. The stairs had exposed tacks which hurt while climbing up and down

Stairs from entrance door to flat door very steep

Location
No parking, a bit of shouting late at night but no big deal.

The only problem was early morning deliveries to the shop. Alright if you were in the back bedroom.
Maybe double glazing would reduce the noise in front bedroom . Not a complaint just a thought.
