We have loved vacationing in Northeast Harbor as a family. However, we didn't know how much more so we would enjoy it being waterside. Aunt Hannah's is about as perfect as it gets for being on the water, watching the tides roll in and out, being in close proximity to the village but also feeling secluded. We loved the historic nature of the property as well. The accommodations were well appointed with what we needed and spacious for a relaxing vacation. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation and plan to stay at the property again...Hopefully next summer!

Great place

Aunt Hannah's Apartment was clean, charming and had the most extraordinary view! We would most definitely recommend it to friends. There was definitely some confusion in communicating with those who managed the apartment, however everyone was very nice, followed up and in the end it all worked out fine.

The apartment was perfect for our quick trip to MDI. A little bit longer drive to the park and Bar Harbor, but the views and the quiet made it worth it.

Great place and views. Kitchen and bathroom supplies could have been better re. Paper goods, soap, etc.
Shades needed on bathroom windows

House was great-- just what my wife and I were looking for.
Beautiful historic house which has a unit for rent (which we stayed in), and a large adjoining house which is being renovated and updated. The house has terrific views, is close to Acadia, Bar Harbor... places to eat, hike ...
Mike who maintains the house is an awesome guy, and helped us to get situated, and understand how everything works.
Thank you! Hall & Beth

Great view and beautiful area

The views were incredible. The place itself was comfortable for four adults. The two bathrooms were great! We stayed in the fall and there were no nice/comfortable blankets. The only bit of feedback I’d have is the decor and finishes could be updated. But the outdated feel kind of adds to the charm.

The setting was absolutely stunning overlooking a cove where we watched the tides change. There is a lovely deck overlooking the water with hydrangea plantings and a small lawn in front.
The living room is comfortable although some of the furniture is quite worn and the lighting could be improved.
We were disappointed with the kitchen because the cooking pots and pans were old and very scratched or rusty and there were no serving bowls. In addition there were only two mugs (the apartment sleeps 4) for coffee, both metal and one was rusty and chipped.
We would like to return if the kitchen supplies are updated.

The neighborhood is wonderfully quiet, and the apartment overlooks the northeast harbor. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. It's lovely, clean, spacious and comfortable. Loved the actual wood burning fireplace as it turned cool in the fall.

This cottage is in the very best of locations with great views, is walking distance to the charming town of Northeast Harbor, and lies very close to all of Acadia’s (Mt. Desert) entrances as well as Bar Harbor.
Having said all of those great things, the actual lodging needs some serious updating.
All the rooms were comfortable, mostly clean, but a bit “rough around the edges” in terms of quality of furnishings, décor, and obvious signs of a lack of upkeep.
Cottage renters should also note that the main house shares a common wall with the cottage which was not truly an issue for (most of) our stay, but being aware of that fact is important.
(Note: We have been told by the realtor handling the payments that a new family member has recently taken on the task of managing and updating the property, so these issues will hopefully be resolved soon.)
Due to the previously mentioned charm and location, we were easily able to “overlook” all of that and enjoyed a delightful four-night stay here. The quiet mornings, watching the tidal action from both decks, sunrises with coffee, and a peaceful, Zen feeling while staying here left us with good memories.
If the items mentioned are taken care of, we would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Acadia.

Hidden gem
Charming cottage in a lovely setting. Blissfully quiet, except for the family renting next door. 😬.

Beautiful home and location
I'm happy we choose this place. The property and view were amazing. The unit is bigger than it looks in the pictures. We enjoyed the fire place and they had plenty of wood to use. Sitting on the porch for breakfast was great too. It was an easy drive to all of Acadia and Bar Harbor.

Unique location
Lovely apartment in a spectacular setting.
However it needs some attention. There was a broken light fixture in the kitchen hanging down from ceiling , kept hitting our head on it, bathroom drains run slow, sounds like a water leak under house (we reported), dirty pillows. Water stains on bedroom ceiling, ripped lampshades. Owners belongings in closets and bathroom cabinets (really should be removed). They expect you to strip beds and start laundry upon your exit!!
Why are we paying a cleaning fee then? Listing stated there was a lobster pot and utensils on-site. There were not. Didn’t realize until we returned with lobsters . This can be a spectacular rental but needs some work.
