We really enjoyed our stay at your peaceful retreat. It was well appointed and perfect for our needs I would book it again if we need a roomy comfortable place in the future in the Raystown Lake area.

We absolutely love staying here!! This is our second summer visiting this cabin! Our kids enjoyed their time, a bonus this year was the game room!!! Contacting the owners was pleasant and prompt and they are such sweet people!!!

Pictures don’t do it justice! This cabin is perfectly spacious, centrally located, wonderful porch for tons of time outside even if it’s raining, has everything you’d possibly need AND meticulously clean. Highly recommend!

Just the best time at the nicest home, ever. The porch is our favorite feature. Your home is just perfect.

Had a great family trip! Everyone enjoyed the house. The roads were a little rough with some rain but not too horrible.

Peaceful location, huge outside deck, large bedrooms with plenty of space. Loved the fenced in area for our dog, much bigger than it looks! Used the fireplace and cozied up on a chilly Fall day. House is very clean and owners put attention to detail and want you to feel at home.
Only suggestion would be a bigger kitchen table for everyone to play board games together.
Thank you for great weekend!

We loved our long weekend here. The property was secluded yet easy to access. The house was gorgeous and clean. We all really enjoyed hanging out on the porch and relaxing. Thank you so much! We hope to make this a yearly tradition!
Only complaint we had was that the wifi did not work well, if at all. It forced us to unplug and relax (which was wonderful!).

Perfect retreat for my grown children & grandchildren. Wrap around porch with fenced area allowed freedom outside for little ones. A lovely week of togetherness 😊

We had an amazing stay! we loved the enclosed porch and enjoyed spending out mornings and evening out there when we were not out on the lake.

My family and I cannot say enough about how great this property is. The location is excellent (it's a just short walk to the lake and drive to several marinas), the wrap-around porch is beautiful and has plenty of seating, and the interior of the house is nicely done with tons of room for large groups. Thank you!

Very nice property-well maintained. One recommendation would be to clean all the bird poop of off the porch railings before renting the unit. Overall inside very clean. This was our second year to stay there and would recommend it to others. Many thanks to the McSorley’s.

This house was great - the best VRBO I’ve stayed in to date. The house was beautiful and clean, looked well-maintained and nicely stocked. Plenty of room for everyone and the beds were comfy. Hands down, the best part was the covered wraparound porch - we spent almost all our time out there. Only a few minutes from Raystown Lake and many other fun activities, and honestly, not that far a drive from Altoona and even more things to do there! Only complaint is that the internet/cable and cell service are spotty and not reliable. It wasn’t a big deal - it allowed us to turn off for a week and enjoy each other’s company, but it was a small pain if we needed to book a boat online or buy tickets or check weather. Not a dealbreaker though. We’d definitely come back!

My entire immediate family was incredibly blessed to stay at this location. My husband passed away after a journey with cancer last year so I wanted to make a positive memory for them and succeeded with this listing. It was private but different activities were close by. The dogs even enjoyed their stay. The hosts gave us a memory of a lifetime.

We more than enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home!! It was way more than what we expected and my family wants to go again in the fall!! The house has everything you need and everything you use on a daily basis!! The owner was extraordinary on getting back to me with any questions we had or concerns!!!

We loved this property. The house was perfect for renting, very nicely laid out for groups, with the everything you might need. The owners were very thoughtful, and even provided NYE decor and glasses which we loved. We had a large group of adults, kids, and 2 dogs and had enough space inside and out for us all to be together and still have privacy. The bedrooms are well equipped and the beds were comfy — a nice surprise over some rentals or hotels.
We did have an issue with snow/ice and the driveway (unexpected all around because the temps were in the 40’s/50’s) and the owner Todd was responsive and very helpful in getting the driveway cleared of snow and ice quickly. Read the description of the driveway before booking — it is a sharp/steep incline, but as written it’s doable, just go slowly, there’s plenty of space to get up/down.
We would definitely stay at this property again - the kids and adults had fun exploring the woods around the house and it was very peaceful.

We have been enjoying our family vacations on Raystown Lake for the past 12 years. What a beautiful, peaceful, scenic area to relax in. This home was absolutely perfect for my family and pups! Everyone had a great bedroom. We spent most of our time on the lake or on the lovely wrap around deck. The Blackstone grill made it very easy to prepare great meals, from pancakes, eggs, burgers, steaks with lots of veggies. We brought our favorite board games so we were not bothered by the spotty WI-FI. I would absolutely love to return next year.

This is by far the best place we've stayed in. Absolutely beautiful, so clean and great location to the lake. I almost don't want to tell anyone how great this place is so it's available for our next trip.
Scott was a pleasure to deal with and always prompt to respond.
I highly recommend staying here. Everything was better than expected and the pictures don't do it any justice.

I wanted to take the Cousins on another trip this year, since they had a blast last year. We were all there on Saturday and they loved the place. It was especially dog friendly and we had 3 dogs with us. I would recommend this house to anyone that wanted to get away from the world and get back to nature.

We loved our stay. The house was large, well equipped, cute, clean, and comfortable. Love that it’s pet friendly! Loved the large porch and outdoor seating. LOVED the flat top grill. The property was private and the surrounding area was really pretty, lots of outdoorsy activities nearby. Good stargazing. Just beware that cell signal was bad, wifi and TV basically unusable, if that’s important for you when you travel. Good opportunity to unplug, though!

Nice home in close distance to marina. Wrap around porch and outdoor seating is great.

The overall property was great and we had a wonderful time. Unfortunately we all got chigger bites and the smell of cigarettes was very strong. We did not inquire if it was smoke free and overall we loved the place. It was wonderful as pet owners that they were contained on the porch and the yard.

Relaxing and quiet
Plenty of room to spread out inside and out. The wrap around porch is incredible and the house is stocked with anything you might need. Only had a couple questions upon check in and Todd was quick to respond and very helpful. It’s an awesome property and did not disappoint!

Amazing property
A gem of a property tucked away in the woods. Very clean home with spacious bedrooms and well stocked with everything you could need. Our group loved all of the outdoor spaces - spent our evenings playing cornhole on the huge deck, grilling on the Blackstone, and making mountain pies and s’mores at the fire pit. Only negative is spotty wifi/cell service but it turned out to be a blessing to unplug for a few days. Owners are lovely and very responsive. Will definitely rent again!

A Slice of Heaven!
Great space for two families. We had plenty of room, comfy beds, and kitchen amenities including seating options were perfect. We spent most of our time relaxing, bird watching, stargazing and eating meals on the amazing, covered porch! We even watched a thunderstorm from the porch. We also appreciated the short drive to James Creek boat launch. It was the perfect location for us as we were on the lake almost every day. Thanks for sharing your home in the woods. We will be back!

Great stay! Highly recommended.
The house is very clean and comfy. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. Beds are very comfortable and better than most of the vacation rentals we experienced before. We enjoyed the wraparound deck very much and had a blast cooking dinner on the grill! The location is great! We brought inflatable kayaks and also used the owner’s single kayak. Easy access to the water/ lake.

Lovely home with lots of extras
Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils. There were games available. It was too cold to enjoy the porch, but it was very appealing. Beds were comfortable, lots of towels, lots of seating for relaxing with family. We took a hike on the nearby Allegrippis Trail which was beautiful. Altogether we had a lovely weekend.

Get away from it all
The property was very nicely maintained. Plenty of comfortable beds and a decent sized living room/ kitchen area. They have a real nice deck and fire pit. Also, access to canoe but we didn't use. There are 2 neighbors whose houses are fairly hard to see through the woods. It's fairly isolated. The driveway is a little rough, although there is plenty of room for parking, and we had problems getting good reception with the satellite tv. Overall, we were very happy with the property.

Amazing experience
The experience was amazing. I’m not sure I can explain how great the hosts and the property were during our stay, but I will give it a shot. The hosts were very accommodating and they stocked the house with more than you could imagine. The house was very clean and stocked with things such as coffee that we didn’t expect. The towels provided were awesome and there was even soap in each bathroom. The property is very secluded and relaxing. We were in town for our sons wedding and this home was a perfect gathering place for everyone. I’m not sure what the standards are for VRBO, but the Mcsorleys have set the bar pretty high. Thank you for a great experience!

Great place to stay!
10 day family vacation with 7 adults, a toddler and infant. Everyone was very comfy and looked like everything was brand new, except the dirt & stone driveway, lol. Nice quality bathroom features, fluffy white towels and boutique soaps. Kitchen well stocked with pantry staples and supplies. Welcome basket was a very nice touch!

Boating fun
We had a great time boating at Raystown. Every afternoon we would walk the dogs to the water from the house and let them swim, they loved it just as much as us! Just an FYI to those trying to work while on vacation, the WiFi was very limited so my husband had to go to the water to work. Not an issue if you really want to get away though!
