Staff were great
First rooms stank of smoke, but they switched rooms for us immediately.
9.0
Staff, location
Parking area not plowed
2.0
Convenient location, room was clean and room temperature was comfortable
Pool was dirty and slimy green, hallways had trash, bits of food all over, bags of dirty laundry just sitting out, the continental breakfast consisted of bread in a sandwich bag and rotten bananas, cereal with no milk, and yogurt. The elevator was absolutely freezing, the door to the pool had to be opened by staff and there were no towels stored by the pool you had to ask staff. There was very little hot water for a shower either

Location, value and the breakfast was what was expected. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Parking lot was not cleaned up from snow. Didn’t look as though it was plowed compared to other locations around the same area. Water pressure in the shower was very low Hard to get hot water.

Breakfast area was clean and pleasant. The courtyard was enjoyable.
No coffee pot in the room. Decor needs updating, nothing matched. Lacked a comfortable chair in the room.

The fire place
Rooms were dirty, ice machines were dirty. You guys need to update your website because it shows check out time is at 12 but we wre told 11

The location was ok
The staff was awful. The bedding was dirty. It’s a long term rental for lower income people that drink outside and doing drugs. If you asked for clean towels got told laundry was closed and can’t get them. I’d ask for new bedding got same answer. The ceiling leaked by our door. The room next to us had the roof collapse and wasn’t told till after words. No house keeping what so ever we had to clean our selves. We took pics of all the leaks. You had to get front desk permission to get in pool if they were actually at desk. Can’t find anyone working front desk unless you wait anywhere from 15 mins to about an hour. Calling doesn’t help either as they do not answer. We were there for a funeral for my mom and this didn’t help anything.

Staff was very nice
Bed was uncomfortable, funky smell in room, teenagers and kids out late right by our window, someone was cooking and made the room smell even worse!

The breakfast was okay. There was a very kind staff member who worked her butt off to keep everything stocked. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was awesome.
One of our blankets had holes in it and some weird, tar like substance on it. The stairwells were pretty dirty.

We were in Sioux Falls for the Howard-Wood track meet. The Dakota is located close to the stadium and several eating places. We enjoy the pleasant and efficient staff. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is good. We haven't used the pool but it looks like a nice size and people are enjoying it. It's a very comfortable stay.
The rooms could use more lighting.
I wish they had coffeemakers in the rooms.

Nothing.
This was a complete ripoff, the place does not look like the pictures. They don't even have breakfast for their guests. For the amount of money this place charges, a complimentary breakfast was to be included. The facilities were old and unkept. The door to our room did not lock making my family feel unsafe. You could not see out the window in the room because they were covered in something white. I really want my money back. Left feeling cheated and taken advantage of. There were no activities in the pool area, like it shows in the pictures, that was the only reason this room was booked.

We like the price, the breakfast and the slide in the pool area.
All of the kid pool equipment has been removed and it does not show that on the website. I think they need to update this, so people know. Part of why we chose this hotel was because of this equipment and it was all gone. Also at no fault of the hotel, some kid pooped in the pool and they had to CLOSE it. We didn't even get to use it half of our 2 night stay.

The breakfast wasn't very big, there was no juice and no waffles. It was very small for what was paid for the room
The hot tub could be a bit hotter

The place has a nice theme to it
nothing worked. The tub in our room had no drain plug to bathe my kids. I was told the hot tub was closed down but the pool was open when I called the night before my check in. I promised my kids they would be able to swim in the pool. We got there and the city had closed down the pool "that day" so upon checking in I was informed it wasn't available for use. My kids were upset. They offered to cancel my reservation but it was through a third party and nonrefundable so I would have been charge anyway. I booked the room online with my bank card, but upon check in they took my spouses card for payment, then we went to supper to find they charged my card and my card was declined at the restaurant so that was embarrassing and we paid cash instead for our meal. There were chip crumbs in our bedding. Our floors weren't vacuumed so I couldn't allow my infant to play on the floor at all. And the heat/ AC unit in our room was either way too hot or freezing cold. With some time, effort, and renovation it could be an excellent place to stay. When the pool is closed it should be discounted room rate. We were planning to stay at a different hotel but we changed our mind ONLY because their website actually informed us that their pool was out of order so instead we booked a room at your hotel. It was my daughters 4th birthday and I was made a liar when I promised her the opportunity to swim. Definitely not considering staying again. The staff was polite but they made several excuses for the pool and hot tub being closed and offered no discount for the false information i had been told by them the day prior to our arrivial over the phone about the pool being available for our stay. I seen several dogs there for a no pet policy hotel and ( i love dogs) but the guest were letting their animals pee and poop right in the snow outside of entrance "I" which was ridiculous to have to walk right by when going in and out of that door to get to our room.

The slide in the pool was nice and the rooms clean.
False advertising with pictures of things in the kids pool on the site to get there and they have been removed. We have small children and the main reason to pick this hotel just to have our kids disappointed.

Not too much!
Apparently this pool's hot tub has been inoperable for a long time. We had friends who stayed here a year ago and it was broken then. . . .still broken. Mgmt has to let you into the pool area, your room key does not work. Two staff members came in while we were there and did not turn on the slide, so we assumed it was broken as well. Just when we were leaving they came back and turned it on! There are no pool towels in the pool area, you have to beg them for one. They really gave the impression that they don't want you in the pool.
