Decor and location
Description of room said there was a bath and shower, as this was a surprise for my fiancé I had planned on there being a bath for her, there was only a shower. We could also hear everything from the pub downstairs, reviews are misleading saying the rooms were ‘soundproof’. We just wanted a chill night in but were so disappointed by the lack of bath and the noise we decided to leave and booked somewhere else.

This place is really well styled. The bed is super comfy and the shower is powerful. The room is cosy
The stairs. 3rd floor and no lift. We are now much fitter….

Brilliant location, excellent shower room nice and ,very quiet for being on the main road, staff were very nice
Coffee machine not working, no phone in room to ask staff and because it's a pub location there is no reception staff, wouldn't have been a problem if everything working, I dropped my phone under the bed and when I looked under there were crisps under there, not from us, also crumbs in the drawers, we paid £119 and expected a lot more for that price, plus £18 for overnight parking plus the cost of breakfast, all in quite expensive

Great location for what I needed. Lovely room, with a super comfortable bed.

All the staff were excellent, great atmosphere in the pub, busy but not too busy, food and drinks were excellent. The location was spot on and the room was lovely, lots of room, clean and well presented.

The bed was slightly small

Excellent location, and a perfect cosy room which was spotlessly clean. We were running late due to train issues and the staff were really understanding and ensured we could check in slightly later.

My room was excellent with all the facilities one would expect.
The steep narrow stairs. And the noise from passers-by that din't stop until after 02.00.

Central location, easy to find, good value for money
2 very tight and winding staircases to get to my room which wasn’t very accessible or easy to get to

Location was great, deco was brilliant, lovely and clean, comfortable beds and Nespresso coffee pods a bonus.... Most of all really liked the bar and the microbrewery..... We didn't have any noise issues but we was on the top floor.
4.5
The pub was great with a micro brewery inside- we had a flight to try a few of the beers and they were very good! The history of the place was also very interesting. Our room (4) was larger than expected and I was very impressed with the facilities and decor. It was very clean and comfortable with a standard double bed. The tea and coffee were very good quality and they had Rituals soaps and moisturisers in the large shower room. We stayed on a Thursday night and had no problems at all with noise. The room had everything we needed- hair dryer etc. Once checked in, we had a key and didn’t need to go through the pub to get to our room.

Great location. Proper pub.

It was very convenient for the Christmas market and the shops. It was an interesting building with lots of character. It was very close to the Guildhall multi storey car park, where we left our car for the night. The room was clean, comfortable, warm and the bar was full of atmosphere.
The stairs mean you need to be physically able to access the rooms.

Great staff, and really appreciate all their help. Great beer. Lovely room. Good breakfast sandwich. Guests should keep in mind this is a pub, and it is not quiet on a Friday night. But that’s part of the charm.

Very friendly, superb room and facilities. Location is walkable to everything we needed very central. No noise issues.
Parking just round the corner NCP £15 for 24 hrs and shuttered doors overnight so really safe.
Perfect stay for us 👍
3.5
Central location. Rooms were well thought through with nice touches like a fan, coffee machine and ear plugs
Our room was right at the top and wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. A fridge would have been useful but certainly get roundable

Great quirky rooms nicely decorated with all the mod cons. Lovely hot spacious shower.
Noise from the main street - but they did provide ear plugs so I should have guessed.
