Clean, spacious, gorgeous grounds

Lovely homestay with a friendly host family. Big view and nice Buddhist vibe to the place. Chill dogs. Would like to attend a retreat here. Bed was very comfortable with what seemed like professionally washed sheets.
Hot pool was unavailable and when I asked it wasn't at temperature, so just be aware that may not be an option for you. Quite a few cobwebs in the room, was otherwise clean. No sound insulation whatsoever so you will hear the other guests and doors closing.

Feels like staying with a family. Who have the best views of the mountains! We enjoyed some of the delicious farm foods from their farm in the North Island too. Thanks for a beautiful stay:)

Great location, very quiet and beautiful scenery. Really nice small touches, and breakfast pretty good! Very much appreciated the electric blanket provided 🥰
Wifi doesn't really work in the rooms, would have been great if it did! Also the milk in the fridge was expired the whole stay 😅 But the dry cereal was still good!

Very quiet, comfortable and lovely bathroom.
When I arrived the owners were away so Sage their son was in charge and gave me a rundown, saying just to ask if I had any questions but then left to walk the dog. He was gone I would guess for an hour and a half or longer. I tried to make my dinner but couldn't figure out how to use the hob. I had also in the meantime met some other guests who were at a loss not knowing their room name so waiting for return of Sage. I felt like one of the blind leading the blind.

We loved our stay here at Ora Retreat, what a beautiful place! It's only a short bus ride from the center of town, and tucked away in a lovely residential area near to the lake. The offerings were above and beyond, they even offered lollipops! Couldn't recommend more.
The shared bathroom is a short walk from the cabins outside, so just a bit chilly at night but the cabins were totally worth it!

Loved the location and Paul was an amazing host! His advice for attractions and skii knowledge was so valuable.

Ora Retreat was easy to find and drive to from the airport, with free parking readily available. Paul was very welcoming and relaxed, happy to answer my questions about Queenstown, hikes and other activities. The free breakfast was decent and the view from the kitchen down towards the lake is a great way to wake up.

Good location. Distance from the downtown, but you can enjoy the quiet lake view.
The public space was crowded during dinner time. No much space to read

Well, what can I say! AMAZING! We travel almost every second weekend and this would be hands down one of our favourite places! The bed was soooo comfy the bungalow was so peaceful. We stayed for 6 days and it felt like our home away from home! Paul you my friend are so awesome. Felt like we made family in you. So chill, so friendly, breakfast was perfect and loved all the great info. If it wasn’t for yuh we wouldn’t have seen half of the amazing things we seen and the tuis was just heaven to wake up to everyday. I could write all day but I want to say thank you, thank you and thank you again and we will absolutely be back again. Until next time our friend! ☺️🥰🙂🤩🥇
There was nothing we didn’t love!

The view, the atmosphere.
Hot water stopped working in one night.
Sound proof of the room.

Outstanding, friendly and helpful host.
Though shared bathroom, it is well clean.
I feel a bit uncomfortable going to the toilet at night, quite a dark pathway. You need to step up and down carefully

It was a very beautiful and peaceful property with stunning lake and mountain views. Also, quiet at night and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Queenstown. The kitchen was well-stocked and the bus stop was very close by to catch the bus into town.
Unfortunately I didn't have a comfortable stay here. The cabin I rented contained a lofted bed with a "futon", which was really just a thin mattress topper, not an actual mattress.. The first night, I didn't sleep at ALL because I could feel the hardwood floor through the futon. My back and hips were killing me! I ended up purchasing an air mattress at Kmart and sleeping on it for the remainder of my stay. For $100/night, it was not worth the extra expense and trouble to stay here! Also, the cabin wasn't clean when I arrived....it had many spiderwebs and cobwebs and I ended up borrowing the vacuum cleaner in the kitchen and cleaning it myself. Bathrooms weren't clean either... In addition, parking at this location was difficult, especially at night. Multiple times, I couldn't find a space to park on the street and I had to park far away and walk in the dark. This location is very dark and not well- marked either. The other problem I experienced was inadequate heating. One night, it was 1 degree celsius and I was FREEZING all night, even with 2 blankets. Overall, I didn't feel that the cabin I rented was a good value and I likely would not stay again. Or, at the very least, rent a cabin with a real bed! This was my most expensive accommodation on my NZ trip, and also the most disappointing.

The view from my rooms:)
The bathroom location but I didn’t mind it though.

Cozy accommodations, great view, close to public transportation, friendly host, great breakfast options
At night it was somewhat difficult to find, the road was dark.

Possibility to do yoga
Breakfast wasn't that great and no gluten free options
I had the expectation to meet other yoggies and practice together, at the end I practiced by myself

Sunny greeted me upon arrival (I was early), and was the brightest part of my trip. What a lovely person! The room was also beautiful, in the back of the garden, it felt like my own secret treehouse. The bed was also incredibly comfy, and I slept better than I have in months. It is such a peaceful haven, right on the beach. The lounge with the fireplace and kitchen are also great and have everything you need. Cannot recommend highly enough.
It was a bit of a cold run in the night from my room to the bathroom, but hardly something to complain about! My room was heated and there were even electric blankets to jump back into :)
