Loved the cabin, fully stocked. We had an elk visit us and lots of hummingbirds. Easy access to the Rocky National Park.

We went hiking and fishing in RMNP - walking distance to the entry. Cooked some terrific meals and even got to watch the olympics! Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Beautiful cabin and surroundings. Two wonderful decks where we could relax and soak in the atmosphere. Loved our time here. Emily is an amazing host. So responsive.

We brought some Arkansas friends with us to show them the RMNP area and stayed at Emily's for a couple of days. It was a wonderful, clean, quiet place that gave us great access to the Park and the beautiful area. We really enjoyed our time there.

Walking distance from RMNP wild basin entrance! Surrounded by trees but still close to so much! A short drive to Estes and minutes from so many trails. The cabin was super clean and comfortable. Loved the hummingbirds hanging around the feeders on the deck. So appreciated the prestocked coffee waiting for those mornings on the deck! The kitchen is fully stocked with any appliance you may need to eat in.
Definitely will be back!

We just needed a quick break and plan on returning to this cabin in the fall.

The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The area surrounding the cabin was very quiet and peaceful. It’s a great place to get away from the busyness of daily life and relax!

We had such a great stay. The cabin was clean and inviting. My uncle has had a lot of health issues over the past year and being able to get away was the recharge we needed. We had been looking forward to time away since February and we were not disappointed. Due to these health issues we had to change our date and Emily was accommodating and flexible. Thank you Emily for working with us regarding the dates and for sharing your cabin with us. We look forward to returning to the Hideaway!

Awesome property and perfect location. Host was great!

This place was exactly what we were looking for - remote enough, yet close enough to everything. Close to RMNP for nice hikes. Directions were a little confusing but overall this place is exactly what is advertised. Host communications were impeccable, they are very interested in making sure their renters have a good experience.

This VRBO is exactly what my family needed. Everything was perfect, everything worked, and everything was clean. We had zero issues with the wifi and the kitchen had everything you need for cooking and staying inside. The host communicated quickly and respectfully throughout the process. We really enjoyed the small balcony from the upstairs room. The views were amazing and just minutes away from Estes Park.
A quiet and cozy place to enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cozy cabin. We were visiting our adult kids and chose to go to the mountains. This cabin is well-equipped and very cozy. It was perfect for our purposes. It snowed the night of our arrival, just enough to make it beautiful. We drove around to view the mountains. We visited Estes Park. And spent a day hanging out in the cabin due to some high winds. I definitely recommend this home.

We stayed with our daughter and son in law and were involved in a wedding taking place at Wild Basin Lodge. This was the perfect place to stay, walking distance when the weather was nice. They thought of everything to make our stay comfortable it couldn’t have been better

The cabin was very nice, it was less than a mile from Wild Basin Entrance to RMNP. TV and internet worked great, kitchen was fully stocked. One warning there are bears in the area and I made the mistake of leaving my car unlocked. A bear rummaged through the car. All was ok and just made for a great story.

The property is lovely and has a very sweet and special family feel to it. I had a great time there with my family and the owners really thought of everything. The area is beautiful as well. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay. Very good accommodations and walking distance to Wild Basin Lodge and ver close to Estes Park and RMNP.

Everything was exactly as described plus the bonus of active/accurate communications from Emily, easy in/out, thoughtful touches for family and just the right distance (20 min) from commercialism of Estes Park with very short distance to Wild Basin either to walk in during "protected" hours or drive over before 9am/after 2pm when passes are not needed. So much fun to watch the hummingbirds.

The cabin was great. Sweet, cute, and the owners paid great homage to their grandparents; the love is evident! We were able to ride our bikes into the Wild Basin entrance to RMNP, which was a treat. There is a natural spring in Allenspark (very nearby). Bring water jugs to fill them up!!! The pub is Allenspark was nice, go there! There is also the beautiful Chapel on the Rock with a cute coffeeshop (great coffee!). We attended Fri. 8:30am mass, and got coffee most days. Though the cabin is farther from Estes Park & the 2 main entrances to RMNP, we wouldn't have found the gems I just described if we hadn't stayed there. I recommend this cabin for more peace & serenity! The dishwasher was broken so I handwashed dishes, but it wasn't the end of the world. Thank you Emily, we had a great time!

This was an amazing cabin which allowed us to spend time as family and disconnect from the stress of daily life. Great hosts -- even had a birthday card waiting for us when we arrived. The cabin is private and beautiful. Do not hesitate to select this cabin for your time away. We will be back

Cute cabin, beautiful area, stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. Wildlife - chipmunks, moose, deer, elk and a bear. We filled the hummingbird feeders and they came - all day, each day!! 25 minutes from Lyons or 2 minutes from Estes Park! Great location.

Loved the friendly hummingbirds. It was much easier to find than we thought it might be. Plenty of kitchen supplies to make a really nice dinner the one night I cooked.

We had a good stay here. It’s a twenty-minute drive from Estes. The cabin was clean and the communication from the host was great. WiFi worked well and they have a big dining table great for family game time. We didn’t love the master bed and didn’t sleep great in it, but everyone’s mattress comfort is different. We grilled one night and the grill worked great. It was a good place to stay.

Emily is an amazing host. Her communication before, during and after our stay ensured there was never an issue or miscommunication. It snowed quite a bit the day we were driving up and she was very proactive in communicating the snow plow status so we could make sure our trip wasn't derailed. From helping prepare for our stay (Christmas decorations were included!) to a very detailed binder and noted throughout the home this couldn't have gone better. The home itself was absolutely amazing. Just right for Mom, Dad and 3 adult/teenage kids plus a few family pets. Our goal was for an intimate family Christmas full of games, family time and got visits and that's what we did. With all the snow we didn't spend much time out of the cabin but there are plenty of outdoor activities right out the door or a 20 minute drive to Estes Park. Will deuterium be wanting to stay again. Love love love!!!

My husband and I and our doggies stayed at the Howboutcha Hideaway cabin to celebrate my 60th birthday. One of those milestone birthdays that we wanted to celebrate. The cabin was clean, cozy, and very comfy. We only stayed at the cabin to relax and be stress-free. We did not hike, other than walking the dogs. I am a teacher of 32 years now at the middle school level, so relaxation is a must in these times. LOL The weather was chilly but beautiful. We did not see any moose or bears - probably our doggies kept them at bay, nor did we experience any Bigfoot sightings! LOL We definitely plan on staying again. Quiet, beautiful and peaceful place to spend with family or a romantic getaway. We started the fireplace, and the coziness of the cabin really did gift me with the feeling of being in my own Hallmark Christmas movie. I am so very happy to have stubbled upon this cabin in my search for a getaway. Christy and Jess Price

We were going to a wedding at Wild Basin Lodge. This location was within walking distance ideal for this wedding venue. The location is also very close to Rocky Mountain National Park at Wild Basin. This place was clean and well taken care of by the owners. Five stars I would highly recommend.

Our son and his 5 groomsmen spent a few days here for his wedding. It was the perfect location for them to hang out for a few days before the wedding and then it was super convenient to walk just a few yards down the road for the festivities! The hosts were helpful and kind!

Great vacation rental. Perfect location to get to RMNP (walking distance for the Wild Basin entrance), Estes Park, and anything else you would want to do. The cabin was clean, quiet, and generously stocked. I've never had a VRBO that included so many toiletries, condiments, snacks, etc. We had a great time!

Amazing Gem..hidden oasis
My friends and I had an amazing time in the Hideaway! We came for three days of hiking and solitude and it was the perfect location. It is cleaner than most cabins I've stayed in in the price range and smelled amazing when we walked in! It was tucked away from the road yet very close to Wild Basin Trailhead area! Would definitely stay again. It was a perfect size for four adults and would've even been perfect for two more. Looks like a great place for kids too. Owners have made everything about the place homey and inviting. Highly recommend!

Great Cabin For Families with Kids
We had a great time at the How Boutcha Hideaway Cabin! Emily is wonderful to work with. She responds quickly to messages and very thoughtful. I really appreciated all the kid-supplies available at the cabin, like toddler-friendly utensils and dinnerware. My 1-yr-old was entertained for hours with all the toys! The location really makes you feel like you’ve unplugged without being too far from town. We drove to Estes Park frequently and it was about a 15-min drive. A great choice for families!

Wedding weekend with family
This is an awesome place to stay since it is so close to Wild Basin Lodge. The cabin is close enough to the highway but not close enough to hear the traffic. The only wildlife we saw were the hummingbirds and that was okay. Loved the hominess.

Great family hangout and hiking base
We really enjoyed staying here, in the pines. We usually hike daily, but this time we also hung out. There's a great deck, and plenty of space in the cabin and natural yard for 5 adults and 2 dogs. We appreciated Kathryn welcomed the dogs as well as us! They use it as a family cabin, too, not just a rental. We appreciated that they left the comfortable furnishings, games, and kitchen supplies as if they live there. There is no appliance/tool they don't have! So nice not to have to improvise with the owner's interpretation of minimal/"essential" kitchen supplies. If we had kids, there were toys and supplies for them, too! There were deer each afternoon on the hillside. I did not enjoy the scent plug-ins, but once I figured it out, they were easy to remove and disappeared immediately. Others might like them; my DIL did at first. I like the fresh scent of the outdoors, which you will have with this property! It was wonderful to be quiet and away from the crowds of Estes Park - yet conveniently located for many hikes in RMNP - including just down the road. Kathryn is a recent owner who is very welcoming and wanting to be a great host, which she was.
