Vannah Lane is a delightful house located on coveted Horse Point Road in Port Clyde. Nestled in the tall pines just past the famed Andrew Wyeth summer home, Vannah Lane sits on three private acres and 350 feet of water frontage. This house provides the best Port Clyde has to offer. You'll have peace and quiet, just a walkable distance from the village for your morning coffee. Catch the ferry to Monhegan or attend an art studio opening, followed by a waterside dinner. The classic clapboard cape is situated on a knoll, surrounded by a well-manicured lawn and overlooking Deep Cove and Howard's Head.
A path meandering through trees and mossy boulders takes you to a small beach, perfect for laying out a blanket and spending the day searching for sea glass, watching for wildlife, reading, or launching a kayak or canoe. When the tide is low, guests can explore the rocks and search for crabs under the seaweed. This is an open-concept house with two bedrooms, a great room, a dining area, and a finished loft area above the first floor. The dining room looks out onto the deck, the lawn, and the water beyond the trees. French doors open onto the deck where you'll find a gas grill and seating to take in the water views.
The kitchen is modern with plenty of counter space and modern appliances including a full-sized stove, a dishwasher, a microwave, a toaster, and a coffee maker. The vaulted-ceiling great room is the heart of the house. Large and beautiful windows let in natural light throughout the day. Free Wifi allows for laptop use in the house or on the deck, and there is a TV with streaming access.
Off the dining area, you'll find the primary bedroom - this room is very private with an en-suite bathroom and views of the woods and the water beyond. This bedroom has a new queen bed. Upstairs, you'll find the second bedroom with a queen bed. A full bath is located between this bedroom and the loft area. The loft area, open to the rooms below, offers a double bed and a work area for guests working remotely. There is a washer and dryer available for guest use as well.

The house was exactly as shown in the pics that allowed for the perfect outdoor, cove, beach, deck, and yard activities while having all the amenities for the rainy indoor days. Quiet secluded area and a mile walk on a beautiful quiet street to Port Clyde.

We stayed at this lovely home for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The access to the water and a private beach exceeded our expectations. The proximity to all that Port Clyde has to offer was a bonus. The General Store, Restaurant , Ice Cream Shop, Wyeth Gallery and the Ferry to Monehegan were so close! The house was comfy and we can't wait to visit again! Thank you!

On a beautiful road and a private setting, this house is ideally located. The kitchen is well-stocked, the bed comfortable, everything easy and nice. And the view is amazing. We will come back!

The home was beautiful, clean and on a wonderful lot!
Our only suggestion to anyone staying here is to check the grill and propane as soon as you arrive if you plan to grill.
When we tried to use the grill it had not been maintained at all.
The grill itself had not been cleaned and there was no propane available.
Both tanks were empty.
When I notified the management Co, I was told they were sorry there was no propane, but it was after hours, about 6:10pm, and they could not get any propane out to us.
We were told we could take the tank and get our own propane.
Though the property management company communicated very quickly with us, I was very disappointed that no one had checked the grill when the property was readied for our stay and the only offer to handle the oversight was for us to deal with it ourselves.
We stayed a few more days after we reported the issue. No propane was delivered before we left.
Everything else about the home was as advertised and wonderful.
Though the grill issue seems small and insignificant, when we have limited time to relax in our crazy lives, it is disappointing to pay for a VRBO instead of staying at a hotel, only to have one of the biggest draws of staying in private home unavailable to us.

Great location, private, clean and all the amenities you need. The team supporting the property was also very responsive and helpful with questions. We will stay here again!

Port Clyde is wonderful as is the whole St. George peninsula and Rockland. The house is comfortable and well-appointed, with a fabulous view and a private beach and cove. A little slice of paradise.

Quiet, convenience, and comfort with a beautiful view!
A great location with a wide ranging selection of activities and local restaurants in this area and with such a comfortable and lovely place to come home to. The home was very well equipped and clean. It has a very private location and is quiet and restful. We have visited Port Clyde several times and have decided this is our favorite by far. We look forward to many returns.

We make a stay at Vannah Lane a definite in our summer plans every year! This was our 5th (we think) stay and each time we arrive we feel like we’re home. The house is always spotless and well stocked with everything we need to be comfortable. The view of the water is wonderful (don’t forget your binoculars to get a close up of the seals, eagles and lobster boats!) and the dogs love to walk the path to the beach to swim. Vannah Lane is a quiet, serene getaway that we can’t imagine a summer without. We love being able to walk to Port Clyde daily for a coffee or snack and our daily walks to and from Marshall’s Point lighthouse is always a highlight. We’ve come to love Vannah Lane and Port Clyde as if it was our very own. As always, we can’t wait to return to this special place.
