Filthy - the counters, tables, couch (smells like urine) and floor are all very dirty Broken dishwasher- filled with foul smelling sludge Broken washer machine - filled with putrid water and a towel floating in it Broken screen Hole in the wall Filthy screen above kitchen sink Filthy grill - unusable and obviously not cleaned in a LONG time Black mold in the bathrooms - even on the ceiling Broken dressers and cabinet doors. Receptacle without a cover - safety issue under the sink and where the dishwasher is plugged in Receptacle without a cover in the children’s room on the floor - major safety issue A view alone does not a good rental make - this home was disgusting. Ruined my vacation - I had to hand wash all dishes for 8 people and could barely get through it without dry heaving. The sheets and towels from the previous guests were in the hamper in the closet. Couldn’t be more disappointed- my husband’s 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary was overshadowed by this gross rental.

The location and view was perfect. The unit was somewhat run down and needed refreshing as well as the fans needed cleaning. Also the parking was misrepresented as the parking place for the second floor space in the garage was far too small of anything other than a motorcycle as it was very narrow. With all that being said, we had a terrific time in Newport Beach.

The location was awesome! The door to patio is in need of repair. The Grill is all rusty. However even with these inconveniences we really loved our stay!

Was not sure what to expect after reading previous reviews, but we were very happy with this place. Plenty if room for our family. I would say the beds are not the most comfortable, but not as bad as some others we've experienced. Very walkable to the pier and close enough to a store and some eateries. Watching the sun set every evening on the balcony was the best. The only complaint we had was the parking situation. The spot for the upper rental has a third of it blocked off by posts. We were fortunate enough to have cool renters below us the first couple nights and they didn't care that we parked over the line. Still had to climb over a seat to get out on the other side of the car, but at least we were in the garage. Larger vehicles will not fit. There were plenty of towels, both bath & beach. Lots of dishes and kitchen items provided as well. We made all of our meals in the house. The grill was a nice spring as well. Also having beach chairs and umbrellas so we didn't have to bring our own was a plus. This was a great spot!

The upper house has lots of space. It is all about the location. If you want 5 stars spend more. If you looking for a great spot for your family, aren't overly particular, this works great. We loved seeing the dolphins every morning from the deck and enjoying the beach by day. No complaints for the money spent.

The property has clearly been mismanaged, is dirty and is in very, very poor shape. My family was subjected to mold in the bathrooms and a non-functioning grill (which a Vacasa agent fixed), a non-working themostate/furnace (which we did not report), a broken "coin-operated" washing machine (which was reported the first day and never got fixed or replaced), and bedroom TVs that would either not turn or not connect to the unit's sketchy WiFi. And, there is NO PARKING for the upper unit in the garage, unlike what is stated in the listing (due to two large steel posts protecting some electrical panels on the wall, which doesn't allow for enough room for a second vehicle on the right-hand side of the garage, which is where the upper unit is supposed to park. This made finding curb parking in a very compact neighborhood with lots of restrictions a daily chore.

The location is right on the beach. Very nice. As with most beach houses, they are crammed next to each other, and there were parties next door (30+ people, DJ, until 3 am one night, and 4 am the next). Called management after the first night to see if they could inquire of the owners, but never heard back. Obviously, nothing was done. Finally called the police the second night around 3 am, as walls/windows are paper thin, so we couldn't sleep. Asked management if we could check out at 11 am instead of 10 am after our 3rd/last night, since we were sleep deprived, but request was denied. So, condition of house gets a B- (fairly dated; bugs on windows; no insulation from noise; fireplace doesn't work; etc.); neighborhood gets a D based on our party neighbors. Location and view of beach gets an A.

After reading some of the reviews we were hesitant to chose this rental, but decided to take a chance. First off, the location was incredible! You just can't beat waking up and having the entire front of the house be sandy beach, ocean and Catalina in the distance. Every morning and evening we would sit on the balcony soak in the view. There's a grocery store and shops in walking distance and a garage space for a small car. I would say if you are looking for a luxurious rental this is not the place for you. It is a family friendly, beach weathered place that you won't have to worry about the kiddos breaking anything or ruining the furniture or carpet (there isn't any). The mattresses were mediocre; the kitchen had plenty of glasses, bowls and plates but only the minimal cooking supplies; and the TV was the size of a computer monitor. However we weren't there for TV so that wasn't as big of a deal as we initially thought (almost every room had a small TV that we never turned on) So this is the spot if you are looking for a family vacation or girls retreat that isn't fancy, sleeps a lot of people and a gorgeous view - this is your place. You will love the location, love the open kitchen and living area, love that there are lot of rooms, plenty of bar and table seating and a garage space for your car.
