Great location, beautifully decorated, well furnished and well stocked with equipment and supplies.

We stayed for 6 days with 6 people and 2 dogs and had a blast!! First, Amanda was very quick to reply to any questions prior to and upon arrival. Second, the home is spacious, well-appointed, and in a beautiful cove with views of big water. We could not have picked a better place to stay. Thank you Amanda!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at this house. House was well stocked and furnished, and very clean. We enjoyed the covered porch at night to be outside without getting bit by bugs. Easy to swim off of dock and launch kayak down ramp. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful family vacation! The deck got lots of use and our family spent hours drinking coffee in the morning and playing cards and games at night. We are going
to book it again next summer!

To begin, I would like to recognize our host(s) Lee and Amanda. Their communication leading up to our stay was amazing. It made me feel confident that we would have no issues. Upon arrival my family was excited to see the message on the chalkboard in the kitchen with a thank you card and pastries (great touch).
The house was clean, full of character, and stocked with everything we needed. The views were amazing and so relaxing. There are so many good things about the location and the property. As I am writing this review, I am trying to think of at least one thing that we had issues with or fell short of expectations (we can’t). All in all, my family and I plan on booking this house again.

Super clean, easy and responsive communication with owner, incredible view in quiet cove, loved our stay!!

We were intown fishing a bass tournament. The house was perfect for us. We had 3 trucks and boats. There was enough room in the driveway to park everything one in front of the other. Unfortunately, we did park one boat and truck beside the driveway in the grass so we didn't have to use multiple extension cords. When it rained that night we ended up making some pretty bad ruts in the yard. Only advice would be to make sure you keep everything parked in the driveway. There is plenty of room to do so, you'll just need a longer cord to charge your batteries.

What a beautiful home with an amazing view! They provide so many extra touches to make you feel at home! We didn’t want to leave!

We can't say enough about how nice our stay was. Such a great location, quiet and scenic. Beautiful view every time we looked out of the windows - and there were plenty so you can really enjoy it! The house was exceptionally clean and well decorated, very comfortable from the minute we walked in. Would definitely recommend staying here! Plenty of room, nice kitchen with everything needed, lots of resting/sleep places, very open layout.

Thanks for an amazing spot and experience for our family ! The property was perfect and everything was there that we needed to make a very memorable Clemson family weekend-

Our family loved this house! It actually feels larger than it appears in the photos. It is so comfortable and was very clean upon arrival. The welcome treat was a nice touch too! We were in town for a Clemson football game - the campus is a short drive from the house and made for a great weekend between football and time on the lake.
We were excited to have use of three kayaks to paddle around. The lake cove is so peaceful. We enjoyed time on the dock and by the water. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish and playing along the shoreline. It’s an easy and level walk from the house down to the dock (hard to find on Keowee!) which was helpful for the grandparents in our group.
Thank you to our fabulous hosts! We hope to visit again some day.

We loved this place. The sunsets left us breathless.

The house was everything I imagined from the VRBO listing. Lake front lawn is perfect to get sun and shade, level and has the ramp into the water. There is also a dock that we used for fishing and swimming. The house was very clean and comfortable. Nice large living space and a large screened porch. Thank you!

Having access to the garage entry was perfoect for us with one son in a wheelchair. The house was immacuately clean and very cozily decorated. Our 17 year old son and his friend loved their upstairs 'hangout' and sleeping space.
The house sits near the end of a cove on the lake, making it perfect for safe swimming, kayaking and noise free relaxation on the dock. Amanda and Lee really have a gem here at Sheltered Shores and our family will definitely be back!
Thank you Amanda and Lee for everything, we were very blessed by our stay in your home. God Bless you and your family!

Had the best time staying at this house. The view was spectacular and the owners were extremely hospitable! The house was very clean and well cared for.

Our family of 7 had a wonderful time at Lake Keowee! This home was the perfect size for us. It had everything we needed for a week on the lake. The dock is easily accessible from the house, located in a quite and deep cove. We all loved swimming, fishing and canoeing off the dock. We also rented a boat and were allowed to dock the boat at house. We were able to take a short boat ride to the Lighthouse Restaurant. We were also very close to South Cove and Lake Keowee Marina.
We had a great time. If we go back to Lake Keowee next summer, we'll definitely book this house again. The owners were so nice and accommodating, and very responsive!! Highly recommend!!

As a family we have been renting houses on Lake Keowee for many years now. This is our favorite so far! The location is ideal and the house has plenty of room for the kids and adults. The lot is nice and flat which makes it great for the kids and hauling things back and forth from the dock. The AC was cold and the water pressure was great. We’ve stayed at other places where neither was the case and this was a nice change.
The owners left a nice welcoming note and treat for us at check in and they were very easy to communicate with. It’s a quiet neighborhood which is what we like. I wouldn’t stay here if you were planning on throwing a big block party. It’s more of a quiet family atmosphere which was perfect for us. The kayaks were a great added bonus for the kids to play with and the swimming off the dock is great. The water is deep and clean so it’s nice to swim there. There’s also plenty of room for my boat to keep there. We did have a minor issue with a doorknob breaking but the owners were very responsive and Lee was there the next day fixing it.
Overall it was perfect for our yearly family vacation to the lake. We most likely will be returning next year. It’s refreshing to see VRBO owners take such pride in taking care of the property and people who stay there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving week and the house was perfect for our group. The lot is not steep at all (rare for Keowee) and it has big water-type views while being in a quiet cove. The house was well appointed and the mid-lake location is very convenient to Seneca shops and restaurants. Very comfortable, lots of space, and the hosts were attentive and helpful. Look forward to staying there again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was super relaxing and very clean and well equipped. The location was great, far enough away to be quiet but close enough to the campus to be convenient. The hosts were welcoming and responded immediately to any questions.

Two families stayed here, and we had a great time. The house was clean and was cared for. Could not ask for a better location. Will stay again

This is a beautiful home on Lake Keowee with spectacular views and amenities! The bedrooms and bathrooms are all very large and very clean. A large laundry room with complimentary detergent and fabric softener is a bonus especially traveling with kids. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful but it is also nice to see other families out and about enjoying the lake and all it has to offer. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property. The owners Lee and Amanda are fantastic to communicate with and they made every effort to make sure we were comfortable. We can’t wait to return :)

My family and I had a lovely stay on the at Amanda and Lee’s home. The home was clean and well stocked. The reason we picked it was we wanted a home that was centrally located with a flat lot as we have two young boys (6 and 10). The house was exactly that nice and flat for the boys to fish, kayak and swim. They loved their private space in the “kids bonus room” too. We enjoyed coffee each morning on the porch. We brought a boat with us and we were able to have plenty of room to dock it without any issues. Their home is centrally located for a quick trip for groceries into town. Awesome week of new memories made on Lake Keowee. Thank you for hosting us.

Saturday: The home was not ready at check-in time, we had to wait an extra hour before the cleaning crew was done. Once in the home we immediately noticed that the AC was on heat and it was 80 degrees inside. We immediately contacted the owner to let her know, changed the thermostat over to Cool and got in the lake (it was cooler outside than it was in the home). Owner told me that there had been an issue the Thursday before our check-in. The AC unit kept switching back over to heat so we had to keep an eye on the thermostat to change back over to cool - which is not a restful way to spend your vacation. Owner came out that evening and did nothing. Sunday and Monday: the AC unit was still not functioning properly, notified the owner again. Tuesday: the owner had an HVAC company come out and change the thermostat which did not help, and at this point the unit would not cool at all, we again notified the owner. Tuesday night/Wednesday morning: by 2:30am it was 79 degrees in the home and was absolutely miserable. We notified the owner that we would be leaving that morning and requested a refund for the two nights remaining on our vacation. Wednesday: We cleaned the home just as the instructions requested and left the home at 10:30am. I was notified by the owner at 2:30pm that the "HVAC folks came and solved the mystery". Certainly, by this point we were not going back. I have screenshots of my text messages with the owner say she would refund our two nights and thanked us for taking such good care of the home. I even have documentation from VRBO dispute resolution team were Owner said that if I did not leave a bad review that she would refund our two nights.
It has been 3 weeks now and we have not received a refund, but instead received notification that we would be charged an additional fee for having visitors (whom did not spend the night) during our stay.
I have stayed at a dozen VRBO properties and never been treated like this by an owner.

Place was as advertised and we didn't have a single issue. Would highly recommend.

We have stayed at several houses on Lake Keowee and Sheltered Shores is a new favorite. The property exceeded our expectations. Every room has a view and the interior is comfortable, cozy and clean. The house is convenient to Seneca and two boat landings.
The water is close enough that teens can be easily monitored from the spacious and lovely sunporch, the living room or the kitchen. Not many houses on Keowee have such convenient access to their docks. Our fishermen also made use of the kayaks and they safely paddled around the quiet cove.
Amanda was easy to work worth and responsive to all of our needs.
We will definitely stay at Sheltered Shores again.

Lake Keowee retreat
The property is very well maintained and very clean. The property owners/managers did a great job of contacting us about the check in process and even provided us supplies (soaps/paper towels/garbage bags/etc.). The cove is nice and peaceful and the access to the lake was very easy.

This is a lovey, if dated, lake house on Keowee with a great view. Comfortable, welcoming living space for six members of my family. While advertised as sleeping 10, it's really only comfortable for 6 adults. If we had small children, then 10 would fit well.
It was Clemson graduation weekend and I rented three houses for family. All of the houses were within a few miles of one another and one was right down the street on the lake.
We had a very small gathering (15-18) of adults (22-88 years), including two of my daughter's Clemson professors. We heard other parties on the lake that night (and on each night of our rental).
While we were initially so excited to walk into the property, I can't recommend this rental. It was as if the owners were spying on us for the entire visit and I received a constant stream of text messages. At one point while I was out driving my mom to the airport, the owner physically blocked my son from driving into the driveway with his dinner and yelled at him for several minutes.
The first text: you're not allowed to have more than 10 people in the house. The rental states the house sleeps 10, but does not say you can't have guests visit. In any event, most guests were outside because the weather was gorgeous and I can say with confidence that there were no more than 10 people in the house at any time. Needless to say, we felt very uncomfortable given the owner's conduct and my children did not feel safe as a result.
This house also had the earliest checkout time and a very long list of "to-dos" before leaving. Not only did our other homes have later check out times, but the only item to do was start the dishwasher if any dirty dishes. I felt like I was the cleaning service. Finally, after I could no longer get a refund, the owners presented a very long contract to sign.

The property was extremely clean, easy access, and the waterfront view was great. There is a small sand bar a couple hundred feet in front of the property which was easy to get out too with a flotation device. The house is spacious and with two good sized bathrooms and a large laundry area. The dock is good sized and will accommodate a boat with no issues to at least 24'. The area of the lake is a small cove and very calm with a wind at times. Clemson is about 25 minutes and Greenville an hour. Great place for vacation or getaway to look at colleges or properties for a future move.

We stayed a week for Christmas, the house is very spacious and cozy. The lake views are spectacular and we spent the majority of our time playing board games, kayaking, and hiking the trails nearby. The kitchen was fully stocked with all necessary cuttlery and kitchen tools for cooking, and all appliances were working great. I definitely recommed staying here, and would certainly come back to visit.
