I had a few questions prior to arrival at our rental to which I got swift response. Upon arrival the outside looked great. Once we started organizing and putting stuff away we immediately noticed lots of crumbs/dog hair in the corners in the kitchen. In the bathrooms there was hair all over in the tubs and one of the bathrooms smelled of urine and we realized it was the rug that was full of urine. Another bathroom smelled really musty and we ended up finding black mold behind the toilet. One of the comforters on the bed had a blood smear on it. We checked out the grill to use it one night and there was a bees nest in it. We let the owner know of these things and he came over and knocked the bees nest out of the grill and wiped up the black mold, we had already taken care of everything else. We did sit by the fireplace a couple of nights and had a couple of our own chairs out there . After being gone all day we were ready to use the campfire a second night only to find that there was a sprinkler mover right next to the fire pit and the camp chairs were all wet..not sure why they would turn on the sprinklers knowing that our chairs were out there and we were obviously using the fire pit. Another night we were in the dining area when we saw a mouse run across the floor in the living room. We tried to catch it to kill it but it ran under the locked door in the kitchen which apparently went down to the basement. We shoved some things under the door to block it. We let th

Beautiful stay. Plenty of space. Everything we needed for a great family vacation. Close to town, easy to get to.

Door County never disappoints. Thank you for letting us stay at your home. It was very nice.
3.0
The only thing we had problems with was the WiFi and internet. Both were unreliable. We had to keep rebooting the box. And even then didn’t work. Had to text the owner a couple of times to reset it. Then it would work for a while and go back off in the evening.

Great location, close to all Door County has to offer! Very spacious home with comfortable furniture. Grill, fire pit and yard games were a hit! Only negative was the lack of air conditioning, but the abundance of fans made it tolerable for sleeping at night. Overall, great property, great location.

Location was great. Downside was that upstairs was unbearably hot, even with extra fan supplied by property manager. No a/c. Fairly well stocked. Some issues with tv reception, internet connection. Need better utensils if you plan on cooking, no sharp knives. But very pretty location.

The location was terrific! Also the size of the house worked well for the 6 adults and 3 kids. It helped having fans upstairs-it could get a little warm. The Wi-fi and TV were not working well. However, the location and actual house puts this on our list to go back to!

Perfect house for our group, with room for 9 of us and two pups on the first level with room to spare, and rooms upstairs removed from noise enough to allow napping for the youngest. The lake breezes and ventilation were all we needed, and the dining room sat everybody for our meals. Outdoors provided additional space for eating, sunning or just gathering. I loved the gas grill, and used it to prepare our celebratory meal of steaks and chicken. We haved stayed in AZ and MT together before, but this was everyone's favorite. Hope to return again soon!

Our stay was very mixed. The location is pretty nice in terms of where you are in Door County, but having the property manager living in a space directly attached to the house was odd as it didn’t specifically say that in the listing rather just being “adjacent” to you, which could mean a lot of things. We didn’t run into the PM at all, but it was just odd that it was explicit in the listing. The house itself was very spacious and enough for a lot of people, however, it was dirty. There were layers of dust everywhere, crumbs on floor, sticky surfaces and stained walls in at least one bedroom. We spent the first 30-45 minutes wiping down the entire place. Overall, slightly disappointing experience, but they allow pups which is nice.

Very nice house. Close to Sister Bay. 2 large living rooms and a large dining room table for games and socializing. Large kitchen with lots of room. We could have used some TV instructions as none of us had used Roku before. Owners are very nice as they had to stop by and replace thermostat battery. The thermostat tended to turn off so the owners are looking into that. Otherwise, great place to stay. Everything is relatively new especially the carpet. It was perfect for our group!

The house was perfect for my family we were a group of 9 and the house is big enough for everyone to have their own space, 2 big living rooms and the 2,5 baths. I will definitely consider staying here again

Clean property, good location

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this Vrbo property. The location was perfect, just a stone's throw away from Sister Bay, and it made exploring the area a breeze.
One of the standout features of this rental was the two spacious living rooms. They provided plenty of room for our large family to relax without feeling crowded. It was great to have separate spaces to unwind and spend quality time together.
The property was exceptionally clean, which we appreciated, especially during these times. However, our only wish was that it had laundry facilities. That would have been a convenient addition for longer stays.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and spacious place to stay in the Sister Bay area. Thank you for making our family getaway so enjoyable!

We had 7 adults in their 20s/30s stay for the weekend. It was cooler outside, so we didnt mind the lack of A/C. Location was exactly what we were looking for with close proximity to downtown Sister Bay and Ephraim. Fire pit area was a highlight for us to sit outside at night. The place wasnt necessarily spotless but we're not picky.
Plenty of towels for us all. They did smell heavily of fabric softener. None of us are sensitive to this but i know some people are.
One night we did accidentally lock the keys inside. The property manager was quick to repond and let us in.
Only other thing to call out is this house is attached to another residence wbere tbe property manager lives. We didnt know that ahead of time because it wasnt obvious in the photos.
Overall would recommend for a laid back group or family that will be out exploring the county. Thank you to the owners and manager for making our stay comfortable!

The home was spacious and perfectly located for our family! We loved spending time on the deck and around the fire pit. We are looking forward to staying here again.

This was absolutely a great place to stay, but the only thing we wish it would have had was A/C. Great location to everything, and very clean.

We were very impressed with the house. Great proximity to Sister Bay, Ephraim and Bailey's Harbor. Comfortable beds. Clean. The internet was fine for work requirements on the computer, but not for streaming. Propane cooking was very welcome. Wildlife in the front yard. Furnishings were more than adequate. Kitchen was furnished appropriately. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Home was very nice, linens, towels, etc were very good quality...only thing I thought to suggest is possibly a counter ice maker....everything was top quality

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this VRBO! Lots of space, well maintained, great firepit, comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen.
We would definitely stay here again!

This was one of the best rental homes that we stayed in around the country. The reason a four star was given:
1. No ice cube trays. We were told they were supply. (We bought ice)
2. The window in the main upstairs bathroom was open, damaged and would not close.
3. There wasn't any tongs for grilling.
4. No matches or lighting device for outdoor fireplace.
5. We missed the college game of the week, Wisconsin/Ohio. (Blessing in disguise due to outcome). No instructions how to change Rokou? to local TV, ABC. The Property Manager came over and tried to get ABC and also failed.
The rest of the stay was great 👍. We would recommend any staying at any property Hosted by Tina and Terry and hope to have them as our hosts again. The Property Manager was ready and willing to assist us in any way she could.

With some updating and maintenance it could be a very nice property. Do not stay there if it is this summer. No air-conditioning would be terrible. It was in the 70s and we were very hot.

Positives:
-Big House with almost everything you need.
- Great location
- Pet Friendly.
-Owners were very responsive and helpful.
Negatives:
-NOT clean. Bathrooms and countertops needed to be re-cleaned.
- Dust and dirt in every corner and along every edge of the floor. Fridge was a mess.
- The manager lives in a house that is literally attached to this rental.
The the instructions posted in the house say:
no excessive noise after
10 o'clock.
We weren't planning on having a party, but doing things outside, ( Like sitting on the deck) felt weird.
I brought my projector and was planning on having a outside movie & bonfire .
But, seeing how we couldn't even start the movie until after 9 and the fire pit is basically in her front yard, we just decided not to.
She was not intrusive or "nosey", it just seemed weird.
-The house does not have air conditioning,
We knew this ahead of time, but didn't think it would matter since we were renting into the start of September .
The weather was warm and very humid.
the portable fans helped a little bit with the heat,
but the humidity just made it feel damp all the time, even the carpet.
It also made the whole house smell very musty and like stale smoke.
-No washer or dryer.
This would have been helpful since there were 5 adults staying for a week.
we really couldn't reuse the towels, They never really dried because of how damp it was in the house

Pros: great location (super close to town but not right in it), comfortable beds and fans provided for the lack of AC, the property manager was super nice (she let us borrow a crock pot for the weekend because we forgot ours!), streaming services provided on roku stick on tv, big enough house for the 6 of us and could have fit more as well
Cons: the hardwood floors were dirty (rest of house was clean though), no AC (appropriately mentioned in listing but still did get hot), WiFi was weak (advertised WiFi in listing but didn’t mention that it was weak).
Thank you!!

We arrived to a house that had not been cleaned and to the owner's/manager's credit, this was remedied right away. However, there were many other issues to note. Even if you just use this house for a place to sleep, it is woefully inadequate.
- The carpet downstairs felt damp for the first couple days of our trip.
- The listing advertises WiFi. About 90% of the time, it wouldn't load a single web page. Speed tests showed a 1.25 mbps download and 1.79 upload, completely atrocious, basically dial up speed or worse. We've stayed in VRBOs in third world countries with better internet. This was a major problem for us as we had planned to be able to research the area and do some work but it was impossible.
- There is no air conditioning and when we arrived, it was sweltering in the house. We needed to use every single fan in the house in order to keep the one bedroom comfortable for sleeping. When we tried to open windows, some of them came off the tracks and this is a safety issue. Some windows have broken handles and can't be opened.
- The location on the peninsula is great BUT it is connected to another home. This is subtly stated in the listing and with pictures that mostly hide that fact. If you want privacy, this is not the place.
We always STRONGLY prefer to stay in a VRBO for vacation but our experience here left us regretting that we didn't choose a hotel.

Perfect and Spacious in a Great Location
The location is perfect, just minutes away from downtown Sister Bay. The home is larger than I thought it would be with plenty of room for everyone. Communication before and during was first class and the home made for a stress-free vacation.
A clear evening even allowed me to set up my telescope for some night sky viewing because it's away from lights.
The experience, the home, and the location makes it our first choice when going to Door County.

Upon arrival the place wasn’t clean. Especially counters, base boards & window ledges. Family Room table was weak & wobbly and one of the stools in kitchen was broken too. We opened the living room shade and realized the windows were open & no screens were in. The wood inside on one side of the windows was completely chewed up & torn apart by what looked to be ripped/chewed apart by an animal. Another upstairs bedroom window also didn’t have a screen on the window, yet the window was open for bugs, insects & such to fly in. We had inquired ahead of time if there was air conditioning, so we went in knowing it was without. However, our communication said there were ceiling fans throughout. Disappointing as there was only 1 ceiling fan & that was in the family room. What was provided were stand up fans in most rooms, thou not all were in good working order. We looked for cleaning supplies to do cleaning & was not able to locate any (not even a broom). There was a vacuum cleaner that we used. The window in the upstairs bathroom was wide open, but no way to close it (even partially) if we needed to. The handle was broken off. After getting in, we were in communication with the property manager. She was prompt, helpful & attentive to our immediate concerns & expressed she was unaware of missing screens, chewed up window, bathroom window being open all the way without a way to close it & broken stool. She assisted to get these items immediate attention, including functioning stand up fans in rooms & reported concerns to the owners. Owner came out the next day to look at some of the damaged things & brought new stand up fans to help with air circulation & to help cool place down. He asked if he could bring in workers to put in new screens for windows. We arrived on Sunday afternoon & by Wednesday afternoon the windows had new screens on them. Damage to window was done by a previous renter with dogs who chewed up wood on window, but they were unaware until we brought to their attention. One can’t help wonder if cleaning had been done well, these things would have been brought to their attention before our arrival. Due to the property manager’s prompt attention to our needs, was pleasant & caring we became comfortable with being there. The owner’s concern was also genuine & prompt in correcting the major concerns. Also, the WI-FI & internet use was very spotty. Evenings was difficult to watch TV. One of our family members had a “hotspot” that helped.

This property is located right in the heart of Door County and is only a 25 minute max drive from all the great things Door County has to offer! There’s also two living areas that made it great for having a large group of people staying here.
The property is beautiful, and they have a great outdoor space to enjoy nice weather. The wi-fi was a little spotty at times, but that is to be expected when you’re out in the country so it wasn’t too much of an issue for us.
The place was very clean as well. I’d recommend this property to anyone looking to get away to Door County to disconnect from the day to day and connect with your friends, family, and the outdoors.

Tina and Terry the property owners and Sherry the property manager were very receptive to our inquiries. The house was just as described - very nicely decorated, comfortable, spacious and everything we needed to have a great time for 5 adults and a dog. Quiet, wooded setting yet close to all our favorites! Internet was reliable and having a dog crate available was a plus! We had a great time!!

This home was perfect for us. There was plenty of room for our family and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed the yard. The kitchen is large and well stocked which came in handy when the extended family dropped by for a visit. We prefer the quiet woods inland when in Door County and this was it! Also easy access to all our favorite spots in Sister Bay and Ephraim.
