Nice location but very disappointing considering the cost. Could have been made to feel much more comfortable/luxuri

The mattress in the shepherds hut was just disgraceful. Very uncomfortable. Luckily we had a dreamboat mattress with us, which we put on top of what was provided. There were no plates or bowls in the shepherds hut and hardly any cutlery etc. Showers and toilets are very old and tired and didn’t feel very clean. Only three toilets and showers for the WHOLE site didn’t feel sufficient. Found it very difficult to find anywhere to recycle waste so in the end we had to give up. Didn’t see any staff.No one checked in to see if we were ok or needed anything. Some little touches could make this campsite so much better. Sorry.

Loved this place

This is a hidden gem, nice and quiet with clean toilets and showers and the owner was very friendly, definitely recommended

The pub right next door was shut for a refurbishment but hopefully open next time we go

A great escape 😃

A real step back from the humdrum of everyday life. The hut is so full of character. We loved it. Compact and cosy - especially on a windy snowy night with the log stove lit. Andy was really helpful with all communications.

Not really any other option but you do have to walk a short distance to the toilet/shower, shared with the campsite - pretty good facilities though compared to some campsites I have been to.

Superb

Beautiful location with lovely views. Nice and warm inside. The property felt cozy.

No hot water in the hut or the toilet areas. No heating in the toilets either. For the amount paid to stay we felt a basket of wood would have been supplied for the wood burner. We also felt it could benefit from a single stove and toaster to be able to make basic meals.

We had a really nice time . The owner Andy was very nice and friendly. Definitely recommended if you have never done it

The hut was very cute and cosy. Towels, bedsheets and a tea towel were provided. Beautiful view .

The entrance to the hut was facing the main gate so it didn’t feel very private and also it felt too close to the road and the car park.

Very pleasant camp site and well appointed shepherd’s hurt.

Very cute. Warm and clean. Great view.

A couple of stools/chairs for inside would have been helpful. The deck chairs outside were nice but too low to enjoy seeing into the fire pit. For the price I think at least a basket of logs should have been provided. The people in the tent in front had there car next to their tent so this spoilt the view somewhat.
